Received a call threatening to call my employer and to prosecute me through the federal court system.  Refused to give me any information but would settle out of court for something I have no idea what it is
Refused to give their company name.

I received a call from first a man stating he was Sam Connor from 310-974-8088. He left me 7 voicemails in one day stating good luck if I didn't return the call. They stated that I owed money and they would arrest me at work if I didn't send the money. I hung up and contacted the police. Now they are calling my home phone, my cell phone and my boyfriend's cell phone. and now they are stating that their name is David Williams from 209-670-9264. This is a scam and the police stated that there is really nothing they can do, as they are from out of the country. I would recommend getting on your do not call registery.

i just received phone call from unknown number and told me that he would like to speak to my husband. He knows his name, social security and date of birth. he said that he is an attorney and work for the FBI and my husband is the prime suspect of stealing money form his client . he said to watch out, my husband will get arrested and go to jail. he also said that he will loose his job. i asked them what company they are from and what is their phone number . i asked him his name he said John Watson. how in a world you sound like your from outsource in INDIA. he said that he is from California . he said that he my husband could contact him at this number 209-670-9264. i called that number and will not allow me to leave a message. WE LIVE IN EAST COAST, HOW IN A WORLD, HE STOLE MONEY IN EAST COAST. SOMEBODY  STOLE HIS NAME AND SS NUMBER. WE CALLED 911 AND THEY SAID THAT IF THEY WILL COME AND ARREST HIM, WE HAVE TO CALL THE POLICE TO VERIFY THEIR IDENTITY.

I received a call on Saturday morning about 8am from a 0000 # that was what showed on my phone id .  The caller left a name of Joe Adams and  a number of 209-670-9264  They said I owe from a pay  day loan and I needed to call them or have an Attorney representative call me .  They left 6 messages for me in one day.  When I called they asked me if the last digits of my social was #### and they asked me about a company depositing some money into an account which I no longer have and I refused to answer any information because I read this first and I am so Glad that I did read this.  Thanks .  BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention that he says he's calling from a law firm. But you can clearly hear from all of the background noise that it's a call center. I have also been called from another phone # and I wanted to share that as well. Heavily accented guy this time says his name is "William". (lol) and his "direct hotline is 818-812-4117. When you try to call him back you get his voicemail and it's always full and can't recieve any more new messages. When he calls me the caller ID reads all 0's.
Tell these guys that you are recording their calls.. they do not like it one bit!!!

I too had had harrassing calls from this same number. Heavily accented man tried to scare me with.. DO NOT DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE... I NEED YOU.. OR YOUR ATTORNEY OF REFERENCE(?) TO CALL ME BACK IMMEDIATLEY.  OR HE WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAD THINGS THAT WILL IMPART ON ME AND MY FAMILY. Claims to be from DCS and seems to be reading from some sort of script... I kept trying to ask him what it was about and he just continued to read.. I finally had to say " WILL YOU SHUT UP AND LET ME SPEAK!!"  It is way too "time sensitive" to bother with sending me any proof of this so called debt.. I guess he's trying to imply that there just isn't time before I'm off to jail!!!  IDIOTS !!!! Do not give these people anything!! ever!! It is a scam. I have filed charges with the Federal Trade Commission, the BBB, and the F.B.I.  I hope you all do the same.
I believe that these guys get our information off the internet. If you have ever filled out an application online.. for a payday loan maybe. I think these companies sell your info to anyone in cyberspace. That's what happened in my case. Good luck to all of you and  God Bless!

This very thing just happened to me again today!!! The first time that they called was on this past Monday and before I could tell them to go to hell they hung up on me. When they called on Monday he knew the last four of my social, but I did not confirm it with him. I immediately called my credit union and out an alert on my account just in case.

I wonder how they are getting everyone's information...I wish there was something more I could do!

Also got a phone call on my cell phone & work phone to call them back right away that they are suing me for an unpaid pay day loan & when I told them I don't know what they were talking abt the man who had a heavy accent told me to tell the court! I called back to ask questions & they hung up on me. They used the name Bob Watson & Mark something. SCAM!

I also got a call on my cell & work # today with a msg that I better call right away 209-670-9264 or good luck to me & if I have an attorney for a payday loan that was unpaid which is false & they said I would be sued.  When I called back & started asking questions they hung up on me! Beware of this scam!!!

Thank God my friend knew about to google phone numbers.  The same thing happened to me that it did to Dena.  They call over and over both cell phone and work number.  when they call it shows up 0000 but the number they tell you to call back is 209-670-9264.  won't tell you who the company is that they are calling on behalf and threaten you.  I was stupid enough to fax the info they asked for BUT did not have it notarized...they would 'hold the case'.  They threaten you and scare you...they knew i was scared and i didn't recall any payday loan so they used it to their advantage.  they called me back at my work number and i told them to stop calling me on my work number and they were harrassing me they had better stop.  it's been over an hour and not one call...AND they hung up on me.  the first voicemial i received was from a Catherine and then when i called back i got Shane Johnson and then i had to speak to his supervisor and his name was Mark Murphy.

I am so glad to know that so many people have had this same experience.  They have been calling my work number since yesterday over and over again, to the point of harrassment.  They all have heavy Indian accents and threaten that that they are going to download my file and send the sheriff to my place of employment to serve me papers.  They can be very convincing if you are not aware of what's going on.  First time they called, the number was 202 481 3310.  Then when he gave me the number to call back, it was 209 670 9264.  When they called my cell phone, the number showed up as 0000.  This is clearly a scam and they are using it to frighten people into paying for something that they don't even owe.  The first company that called was First State Attorney Services.  When they called back, it was Federal Law Department of U.S. Government and the guy's name was Richard Wright.  They tried this same scam on me many months ago with no success.  They always come back with a different scam months later.  I am going to report this to the FBI as well and have my number blocked.

I called this number again and it has been disconnected just that quickly. A law firm eh? Yeah right. I got 8 calls yesterday. I reported this to the FBI and the phone company that carries the 209 prefix, PacWest Telecom in California and they were going to block the number. Apparently they had already heard about this scam. Don't be afraid! Be empowered!

This is scary! I got a call on my cell phone and now my work line. They even had my social security number!

I am glad I looked this up online before I tried to pay them for the 'InstaCash' Loan which I owed $645.00 for allegedly. They also asked me to send a notarized letter with $200 cash and they would 'put a hold on my case'. They also claimed to be from Mcdougan Law Firm in California which does not exist. They did have heavy accents and had names like Frank Wilson and Shane Johnson which made me suspicious as well. 209-670-9264

I received calls to my work and my cell phone. Saying I owed some InstaCash payday company. Wouldn't give any info about it except that I have to fax them a letter and make a payment of at least half or they were filing charged against me today and would have me served at work and I would get fired.  They were from a law office not sure which one. All kinds of threats and I could barely understand them. No Idea where they got my information. When they call the number shows up 1000. Strange calls.

I JUST RECEIVED THE SAME CALLS FROM THE SAME PHONE NUMBERS. THIS IS A SCAM THIS PERSON WANTED ME TO SEND CREDIT CARD INFO AND LICENSE CARD AND PROMISE NOT TO ARGUE WITH THE CHARGES. AND THE COMPANY THEY CLAIM TO BE REPRESENTING DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM.

THE MAN IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS SHANE JOHNSON. SUPPOSEDLY FROM MCDOUGAN LAW FIRM SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA. HE SAID HE REPRESENTED BANK OF AMERICA. HE WANTED ME TO SEND HIM MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND LICENSE CARD. HE WANTED ME TO PUT THAT I WONT DISPUTE THE CHARGES. AND HE WANTED ME TO GET IT NOTARIZED AND FAXED TO HIM WITHIN 30 MINS. I CALLED BOA AND THEY NO IDEA WHO CALLED ME OR WHO THIS LAW FIRM IS. THERE ARE NO LAWYERS ASSOCIATED WITH MY ACCOUNTS. THIS IS A SCAM. SCARY THING IS HE KNEW ALOT OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. BEWARE!

Recieved call today 10/26/2010 stated i  needed to return call or my attorney did. If i did'nt wished me good louck . Strang  was caller id gave number as978-570-2087 and guy who left message gave no name just number 2096709264. Also received 3 calls minutes from each other 11:33am number was 0000 ther 11:34 number 978-670-9264 and 3rd cal  11:34 number 0000 again all went to answering machine, but only one number left message.

I recieved a call today from these people claiming to collect a debt from a payday loan. They wouldnt say the name of the company and when I challenged them they put me on hold indefinatly. SCAM!!!!!
