Aug. 13, 2012 I also received a call as stated above. I hope Microsoft is putting a stop to this quickly. I am older and was just abvout scammed if it wasn't for me asking for their phone number so that I could get back to them. They wanted $299.99 for a life time Microsoft Warantee and told me not to renew with Norton or McAffee. Also said McAffee was primarily for apple computers. He also said they did not have a 1-800 phone number. This is when I knew something was wrong. MICROSOFT Help!

I recived a phone call from a man claiming he worked for windows ( which isn't a company it's a product of microsoft,) He claimed he was recieving error reports from my computer and that if I followed his instructions he could fix it for me. I told him I knew this couldn't be true and that I would like his phone number ( this number came up as a private caller on my display.) He gave me the number he was calling from and his name alex which probably isn't his real name. I told him I would call the police and he challenged me to go ahead and do it! I have heard of this scam before and these men are very brazen criminals. I hope this infromation helps to catch these men!
