i just recieved a harassing phone call from a man name kevin and told me that they were gonna come and arrest me if i didnt give them my lawyers name so i gave them my husbands name and cell number and then the man hung up on me he had a really strong india accent. im so tired of this darn calls wtf..........

I recieved two callls like that today. They really had me scared because they were extremely professional. But I had not recieved nor heard anything about this Pay Day Loan that they were speaking about prior. I also asked them to send me something in writing to assure that they were in fact a company and I owed them money. They explained that the funds needed to be accessed via check card, personal account, or money card. I have an old Walmart money card that I have put funds on in past. But I refused to submit to what they were implying. They also told me that I was goingto jail for check fraud and put two other people on the line (one was male, the other female )for verification. They have all my personal information SS#, home address, phone number, email and pass bank account#. I feel really stupid. And plan to report this to my telephone company and the police firsat thing  in the morning. They can get things in my name, and destroy my credit. They may even try to get an I.D. who knows they went through all this trouble. The numbers that called me were (404)963-5072  belonging to Naomi A. Hinton (goes by Tollen). And (404) 228-6405 Mauconduit Luna (goes by the name of Bolton).  These ladies claim to be investigators and have access to contacts that can eliminate charges being filed aganist you.These numbers are indeed SCAMS!!! and they come from Conley GA, and Hapeville GA. I looked up all their information on white pages. com, and that's probably how they located me.

I have recieved harassing phone calls from this James Warner. He has threatened to have me fired in two days and he hung up on me several times. He is very persistant. He was requesting my bank card info. and copy of my lic. to be faxed to him. VERY INDIAN accent. I could not understand him.

My husband just received a call from this number from an indian guy saying he was accused of hacking into a loan service site and he would be served at 5 pm today.

yah they have all of that stuff of mine too. kinda scary huh? i just went to my phone carrier and blocked the number... then tomorrow im calling my state attorney generals office and fileing a consumer complaint and see were that gets me..

ive been getting 45-50 calls a day from a man named shawn woods at 209-917-2107 he has called my cell many times.. he also has called my work i answered, he explained to me that i owed us cash advance from 2009 and will be taking me to court, he also expressed that they will be notifying my work and getting me fired. then he proceeded to tell me that i can settle this out of court for the total of 935.88
by using a prepaid depit card. what do i do he is calling me as we speek he has said in voice mails that i have saved many of that i have till tonite at 6pm to clearify all of this or it will go to court tomorrow? what can i do?

Ive been getting a call from a shawn woods with a indian accent all week 45 to 50 times a day. he has also called my work i answered and he explained to me that a payday loan from 2009. the company is suing me and he is going to take me to court in california which will cost over 5000k and notify my employer which he said i will get fired then proceeded to tell me i can settle this matter out of court for the sum of 935.88 by 6pm tonite which its past 6pm no doubt what do i do about this anything? can i sue there a***s?

I received several harassing phone calls from a "Kevin Jones" who has a very thick Indian accent. He told me that there were legal proceedings against me for an "old debt". He then said if he didn't hear from me that authorities would come to my job and arrest me in three days. (that didn't happen) He also said that if he didn't hear from me all he "could do is pray for me as the situation unfolds" on me.
I immediately "Google'd" the phone number and found numerous statements of individuals who had the same guy, same name, with the same speech calling them and harassing them and threatening them.
I called the local police and they told me to contact the FBI to file a complaint!
BEWARE...
Don't give your bank information to ANYONE over the phone, especially when they're Indian with a name like "KEVIN JONES". I have also been called by a Christy Woods with the same accent, same threats!

I am getting repeated calls claiming to be Shawn Woods office, clerk named "Justin Williams" from India.  I have been getting hundreds of phone calls and emails on my work phone for payday loans that I did not apply for, and now this.  I will report this call to the Attorney General of Kentucky to take care of it from here.

This joker called me at home and on my husband's cell phone today. Very heavy Indian voice, couldn't understand, like his mouth was full of crap. He asked for me and said, or tried to say I had 3 charges against me and I needed a lawyer to get me out of it. If I didn't they would come arrest me if this wasn't taken care of. He knew my social security # and that I lived in Florida. My husband took the cell phone and the joker said he needed to talk to Barbara McClellan and my husband told .him he was not going to talk to his wife, but could talk to the cop that was standing there. He hung up. We went to the police station and reported this and then called Social Security to let them know someone else had my social security #.. A worthless scum bag!

I just get a call from this same number telling me i own money but don't want to tell me from which company or person then he get mad and hang up.

This is a scam.  Do not be fooled.  These people are calling anyone and everyone.  They have breached data bases of banks, online solicitations, payday loan companies and consumer reporting agencies.  They throw it out there that you may have debt and be worried and then you might call them back.  They must have it in writing to debit your account, hence they ask you to fax over written permission.  If you do this they are then protected by law.  Don't be fooled.  Maybe you do owe money out there...but it is not to them.  File a complaint with the FTC then block the number.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK>  It is never a criminal offense to default on a loan or credit card.  If you are being taken to court it is a civil matter only and they will get in touch with you one way or another.  These people are criminals.

I received a call from these people today telling me I have 3 charges against me for an unpaid payday loan.  It scared me because I am currently on probation and I was like OMG.  They had all my information, and stated that if I'm currently on probation I need to advise my officer of these charges.  I just so happen to come back to me desk and googled the law offices of shawn woods and came across these complaints.  I was relieved but already very upset because I'm now wondering how the h*ll they knew I was on probation.  These people obviously are getting our information and running actual background checks to see what information they can use to scam you out of money.

Received a call from a Kevin Jones, requesting that me or my attorney or representative return his call immediately as I had legal action against me and if I didn't call back, all he oculd do was wish me luck.  The number he gave to call back was 209-912-2107.  He had a THICK Jamaican accent.  We have not returned the call.

I received the same call from a person with a very strong accent, threatening me to call - or else...

Following your post... I just got a call from them again... This time he wanted to talk to my manager that  I was a CRIMINAL... I told him I got an email yesterday stating he was a scam... He repeated "YOU ARE A CRIMINAL MA'AM I NEED TO SPEAK WITH YOUR MANAGER".. yes, he had a attitude with me... I told him goodbye!!1 FUNNY STUFF!!!!

I just recieved the same call from Shawn, he even gave me a case number. He claimed I defaulted on a pay day loan that was deposited in my acct in 2009, which my acct wasn't even open then. He knew all my personal information, my address, email, bank info,social security number. He threatened me that I was going to be charged with criminal charges and I would have to appear in court in California on Monday or a warrant for my arrest will be issued. He said I will recieve paperwork by the friday before. I could barely understand him and he couldnt give me any details.

I received a call from that same # today. They said they were getting ready to download my file to the court system in the next two hours. Some guy called and told me to call Shawn Woods as well. I called Shawn and he said I have criminal charges against me for money laundering, check fraud, etc. b/c back in 2009 I got a loan for $300 and never repaid the loan company. I have no idea what he is talking about. When I asked for the name of the loan company; he couldn't give it to me either. He was talking really fast, he had an accent and he as this big time attorney answered the phone as well. They are located in CA and thank you for all of your input b/c I was getting worried that I did something wrong. He did have my SS#, my mother's name and where I work! Weird??? Glad to know it's a scam. The only thing that made me think was that they were very unprofessional and why 2 years later; are you calling my # that I have had the same # for probably 5 years now.

I just recieved a call from this man with a strong indian accent and he stated that I was having charges pressed against me but could not tell me what it was about.  
I am going to call the police for harrassment if the calls continue.

I keep getting calls too!  Some thick accent probably from India. Said his name is Calvin Peterson. I did look on line for a loan about a month ago...........I believe that is where they are getting our information from.  I never took out a loan..........and I have no intention of calling these SCAMMERS back.........I also called my bank and changed my credit cards and bank account..............In these difficult economic times.....we are under enough pressure without SCAMMERS trying to RIP US OFF..............should have realized it wasn't legit when the call came in as UNKNOWN............a legitimate company would not hide their company name..............Don't stress people ...........good luck

Just received the call today, first call came at my office and I returned it on my way home.  A Kevin Jones called me with a heavy indian accent, yeah right your name is Kevin Jones.  When I called back a man answers this is Shawn.  Not a law firm or any other answer.  They told me that in December of 2009, I took out a cash advance with US Cash Advance and that they work for Charles & Williams & Associates Law Firm.  The weird thing was that he called my new work number that I have only had for 6 months.  I looked in my checking account statement and there is no $300 advance.  I have googled the law firm and found nothing.  Shawn emailed me a promissory note that doesn't even state why I owe this money or to what company I owe it to.  They claim they got all my current information from Social Security.  They have alllll my information.  They said I will receive court documents on Tuesday morning.  God help these people for scamming and scaring people.  I was shaking not knowing if I did this and don't remember.

I just got a call about there were 3 counts agains me for bank fraud and not payig debt. The person had a thick indian accent and said i owed money. I have never gotton a cash advance ever. He kept sayin oh my god you have not been informed, like i said have known this. Unbelievable people are going this low for a scam...

I got several phone calls from this number they were even calling my sisters phone saying that I had a lawsuit out against me for some pay day loan I never received...John Harris and Justin Williams is the names they used and said they were calling on behalf of Charles Williams and Associates!! I flipped out and told them I would be filing a report against them and not to call me anymore and hung up the phone in their face like they did to me...this needs to be stopped

Received the same call myself this morning. I was not home but received the message. The person who called had a thick accent as well and isentified themself as Charlene Peterson but sounded like a man! Your posts have been helpful as the message sounded quite threatening. When I called the number back a woman known as Christine answered but did not give a company name. Am calling my bank to make sure that they cannot access my account as they may have my information. My husband just informed me that he went to a website called payday loans. That might be where they are getting peoples info.
