I think this people get our information from our credit card company that use India as hub.
remember when you call to your credit card company and some one in India answer and these people sell our info in the street.
I guarrenty you that I am right on this.This credit card company needs to stop using out of country help.

Just ignore, this is a scam. I got a call today from this number and after I asked him to give more information he got frustrated. He was called under the name of Peter Williams and definitely not an American accent.

I got a call from 1-210-401-3798 and he told ma same kind of investigation regarding IRS so I talk with him and mean while I google this number. So thanks to all people who post about this number and I aware about this scam.

This is fraud call I yell at them

Got the phone call just a few minutes back from this number. Stating that wanted to talk with my husband and he " Jason smith" calling from state investigation department reference to passport & citizenship investigation. Their is legal case file on him and we need to give him my husbands cell phone number.  I refused to provide that n then he asked to return his call at 210-401-3798 to Jason smith. What a stupid. And in the back ground you can hear baby crying.  

Received a call today from the same number telling me that I had a pending case against me and that my citizenship and passport were in jeopardy (he was an Indian male) - the he said his supervisor was going to talk to me.  I knew it was a scam, but was curious what was going to happen.  A female came on and when I asked what she wanted, she said "I am your mom and you better listen to me or someone will come arrest you."  I laughed at her and she said this was serious and then I just hung up.  No call back since.

We also received a call from this number.. My question to all of you is.. Do you have someone in your family that is senior or have some sort of medical record. I am trying to figure out if this f..kers are going after seniors or folks who may have some medical history or something that this folks have record off.. There has to be something common in all of this calls and the blame may be one of the US companies that we all deal with which has our confidential information that is being leaked out.

Any an all information will help nail this down and also help report it to proper authority.

Someone from  210-401-3798 Called pretending to be officer Alex Morganand threatening a legal action if I did not call back. I searched for that number and found various blogs people complaining about same scam.

I got a call this morning.

I did get flustered for a moment.  But later got back my composure and asked for his name.  He said he as John Mckenzie - asked him to spell the last name.  He did use Zee to pronounce the letter "Z" and not Zed as it is done in India.  Asked for his badge number - he said it was F60134 - don't know if it is genuine - probably fake.  Asked for the name of his supervisor and the supervisor's telephone number.  He said he did not have a supervisor.  I said even the Veep is managed by the Prez so there has to be a supervisor and I want the name and the telephone number.  He gave the supervisor's name as David.  "David what?" I asked him.  He said Baxter.

Later learned that this is a scam.

Then later this evening, I called them up with a *67 prefixed so that my caller id was hidden.  Asked in Hindi, "I would like to speak to John McKenzie."  I got a response in ENGLISH, "Who's calling?"

JACKPOT - The callers know Hindi so they are most probably from India or at least the subcontinent - considering Urdu spoken in Pakistan is also similar.

More Important:  My name is pronounced by Americans in a particular manner and having lived here since 2000, I know immediately if the caller is an American, Indian or something else - just on the manner my name is pronounced.

In the morning, when the call came - a woman first spoke and she pronounced my name like an Indian.  So when I was asking for the supervisor's name etc, I asked if the woman who spoke first was an Indian.  "David" said no.  LIE!  Also when "David" first came on the line, he pronounced my name in the Indian way.  So again yet  another proof that these folks are from India.

Sad that they are trying to con me - an Indian Citizen on Permanent residence.

I too received a call today from this number 210-401-3798. They ever brought an interpreter to translate. They said there are 3 criminal cases againt me. Such a losers....a***oles....Making bad reputation of Indians....They will rot in hell.....

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I too got a call from this number yesterday - from Office Mark Thomas from "Crime Investigations Department". I hung up within 10 seconds. He called back and left a detailed voicemail - very threatening saying they had 3 federal cases against me, if I don't call back they will take me to court etc etc. I googled Officer Mark Thomas Scam and found several links that confirmed my suspicion.

I called our local police who came over to our place. While the police officer was here, Mark Thomas called. When our local PD asked him for identification (badge number etc), he said he was the Sherriff !!! When the local PD asked "Sherriff of which town" ... he started blabbering. Our local officer basically told him that they are investigating this number now and he (Mark Thomas) needs to stop calling me immediately.

Haven't had a call from him since (it has been a day). Let's see how long this lasts. I don't know what information of mine he has (SS# etc) since I did not entertain any conversation with him at all.

These guys must be punished!!!

Got called today - ignored.
left voice message saying that - there are several federal crime investigations reported under my name. i better call back other wise he (caller identified as Justin Hamilton) would start with legal action against me.

Why are this burdened Scammers allowed to thrive freely ?

This is a scam - even if you DID owe money to the IRS, they do not operate this way!  If you owe money, the IRS will MAIL you, not call you.  Also, the IRS does not threaten to arrest you and that you have to pay money within 30 minutes - only scammers do this.
