They left same message.  I called back and they said their company is National Check Mediation Services.  When I asked for their address- they hung up on me.
Total Scam.  If they really had a reason to contact me in a collection effort, they would provide confirmation of debt in writing through the United States Postal Service.  Since they won't provide any details, they are just trying to use scare tactics to obtain money quickly.  If you pay them using your debit, credit or checking, they will not have to pay it back and the burden of proof of fraud is on you and you will not be able to recover you money.  DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS!!!!

Did the same to me - unbelievable!!  Said their name was Emily Westhoff and again, to govern myself accordingly.  Good Luck!  Yeah, right.

Same thing happened to me and when I said that account has been closed for years as it was compromised, they hung up.

Left a message on my cell phone...said they're prosecuting me for check fraud and to get an attorney, or if they don't hear back - I will waive my rights to legal respresentation...then wished me 'good luck'
