Received a text from this number in response to Craigslist ad, stating he wanted to buy my vehicle at asking price, site unseen. Requested paypal account information and personal address. (Of course, I did not give it to him.)  He gave an email address of peterpl136@gmail.com.  I googled the email address and found many complaints with almost identical situations.  Do your research peeps!  Don't fall for it!  He's a scammer!

Just got a message from Peter Paul from number 581-317-1170 asking about a car that I have on CG and he want to use Pay Pal to send the payment.. With the Same email as the rest of you guys.. His email is peterpl136@gmail.com  Just trying to do my part to help others from getting SCAMED by him or her..

He sent the exact same message to me as well about a car on craigslist..saying he was in the navy and buying for a pastor and would have a courier pick up the car and wanted paypal info. When he asked for pictures of the car, i took a pic of the comments on this page and sent it to him. also forwarded to police dept. he is still using the peterpaul email address. beware.

I knew it was fishy. I text back and asked why I could not send them in a text message or conduct business via phone call and Ive not received anything back.

Just got a text message from this number in regards to a craigslist sale of a car. He then ask for my email to communicate. His email is peterpl136@gmail.com and goes by Peter Paul.

Got the same message as everyone else here yesterday from this person so they are still at it. "Peter Paul" asked for pics of the vehicle I'm selling, which are already on my craigslist ad and my Paypal email address. All the red flags went up! Sent him an email using an email address that's not tied to my Paypal account with my terms of sale including him paying the transaction fees and supply me with a written statement of the courier's name, phone number, picture id, and authorization to act on behalf of the buyer. I also told him that I would have to wait 3-4 business days until Paypal confirms the funds are "available" in my account and asked if those terms were acceptable. The only response was that he would pay the Paypal transaction fees and requested my Paypal email address again. Never said whether he was agreeable to the terms, which throws up more red flags. Here's the issue as I see it (there are probably more). The person could deposit the funds in my Paypal account. He could even wait until Paypal confirms the funds are available to me in 3-4 business days. I could arrange to meet the courier and turn the car over to them. Then, once they have the car, the buyer could dispute the transaction with Paypal stating that the vehicle is not as described. Paypal offers no seller protection if you don't ship the purchase. Paypal would then freeze the funds for up to 20 days while they investigate. Who knows how their investigation would turn out? It might be favorable and it might not. If it's not, I've lost my vehicle. I'm considering getting the police involved to see if they would like to set up a sting operation to nail the courier when they come to pick up the vehicle but I'm thinking that it's just going to be some poor, unsuspecting person that agreed to pick up a car for this person (who they've never met) for a fee. I'll post back if I decide to contact the police.

Thanks everyone for your postings on this character. Just got a text from him about my auto I just posted this afternoon wanting recent pics. Same reply to his "private" email peterpl136@gmail.com.  Like someone here said, this is a persistent little scammer.

I got the same thing- pretty perstistent little feller. I got the same "I'm in the Navy and buying this for my pastor". Pretty interesting that these guys really think they are going to pull on over on someone when all you have to do is google the phone number or his e-mail and it shows this many hits as a scammer!!

Text from Peter Paul said he was in US Navy at sea and wants to buy my car for his pastor!! Wants Pix my wife said look on Facebook. Or call us .Said by Text Cant call just text me your E mail account !! My wife Told him we will Deliver the car to San Antonio to the pastor AND pick up cash. HE JUST TEXTED BACK AND SAID PAY PAL ONLY!!!! WE Are GOING TO LEAD HIM ON . Please ADVISE.

Got a message from the same guy today. Responding to a craigslist ad for my vehicle, asking for pictures. Then said he was in the NAVY and at sea but going to buy for his pastor. Same for me sent me a text asking to pay my price via paypa for a car I had listed on craigslistl. Don't do it!

Bummer, this guy tried to reach my brother in law today about his truck.  Said he's in the Navy, deployed on a ship, yet he's able to text. Yeah, ok!  Good thing he called me, I told him there's no stinkin way he's able to text on a Navy ship that's deployed!  (my hubby is a Marine) He said he wants to buy it for his preacher.  What a jerk and a liar.  Using the military AND the church to try to gain trust.

I got several text messages from 317-758-7531 but using the same email address. I figured it was a scam.

I received a txt from 
# 210-701-1719 asking about my car for sale, wonting pics email to him and wonting my paypal id  # to send payment. After I googled this I saw this has happened to a lot of people over at least a year. Can nothing be done about this? !!!!!
He is now pretending to be I'n the military of all things!!!

I just got text MSG asking for pics. Had different scammer yesterday.  That text sent from 917-512-2680. Wanted to pay w pay pal also.

I have recieved an email address and several messages from this person saying they want the car quick and didn't really care for pictures. I felt like it was fishy, and it was because as soon as I typed it into Google, it appears many times with many scam reports!!

Thank you all for posting this. I'm clueless about Craigslist and decided to list my suburban on there. Within an hour I got the same message as all of you plus another similar one. Received a text about 5 minutes ago saying he wanted my PayPal address. Now I know to tell him to take a hike. Thanks again!

This pathetic sack of crap is still trying to scam people. Asked me to kindly send recent pictures of my Avalon posted for $1500. I really hate people like this with a passion.

Posted ad on Craigslist...get a text at 2am and says he will buy truck...no questions asked...then asks for paypal id...then says we are stealing his money and that we should have email from paypal...but we should go ahead and western union 1200 to b safe...lol...now wont stop texting
