Received a call from "Mr. Davenport" on 06/04/2014.  He stated that he was representing Pre-Trial Services in San Antonio, Texas.  The call regarded a pay day loan (which I am unaware of).  I was very loudly and aggressively informed that a bench warrant for my arrest was being issued regarding this loan.  However, I could not get any viable information from this individual.  He accused me of knowing exactly what he was talking about and then hung up on me.  I immediately called the phone number back that was listed on my CID, and again he began screaming and making accusations.  Reverse number search does not show it to be a San Antonio number but it does show the number to be listed to a telemarketer (210-762-6839).

Received call yesterday from Richard Davenport. Said he had (2) Felony Warrants going that day for bad checks. He said he could stop the warrants and clear my case if I paid him $1k+. I said send the warrants. He hung up. I called him back. After being on hold a few minutes, he came on the line. I asked the name of the company. He said Legal Mediation Services. I asked for an address. He said I'm not giving you that so you can come shoot us up and hung up. SCAM

Same call and same lawsuit. I became very agitated as the lady was accusing me of writing bad checks. I then proceeded to advise that I would report their company if the calls did not cease and she yelled, tell the cops that you are writing bad checks and hung up on me. Do not answer these calls and do not call back. I have blocked their number on my phone and will monitor my credit and bank account very closely.

I just received this same call.  I'm currently unemployed and actively looking for a new job, so I answer all calls because recruiters are all over the country.  As soon as he started talking (sounded more like a recording than a live person), I hung up and blocked the number.  I agree that this needs to stop, good people getting harassed for nothing.

I received a call from the (210) 762-6839 number June 3 and today. I missed the call yesterday and no message was left. When they called again today I answered the phone and a recording said a case was against me and to hold to speak with someone. I held then the phone hung up. I then got a call back from (210) 625-4684, when I answered, the phone hung up again. I called the number back and a voice message for Brittney Walker came on, I left a message for a call back to find out why I am receiving these calls.

The woman called me back and said there is a case against me for check fraud, grand larceny and theft from an online payday loan company. She stated I took out a loan by using my email address, which she recited, and had the company wire funds into my bank, which she also recited. I told her, I have never taken out a payday loan online, that doesn't even make sense. She said according to the company I did and now a warrant was out for my arrest. She then wanted me to verify my address, I asked her to recite it,  she had my old address. I asked her how did I take the loan out? she said I used my IP address, bank account and routing number. I told her that was ridiculous, who uses their IP address to get a loan?!

I then told her to send me something in writing, she said she couldn't do that because the company has sent me several correspondence already. She then says, I will put down you as disputing the allegations and you will be habeas corpuses, then hung up. I called the number back and the woman answered the phone, I told her if she was a legitimate organization she would have some professionalism and not hang up on me, also if she's going to try and scare people with legal jargon, know what the word means and how to correctly use it in a sentence.

Although, I have never taken out a payday loan and there is nothing on my credit report to indicate anyone else has, I do realize this is a scam. My only concern is the woman had my name, email address, social, bank name and old mailing address. The good thing is I have credit monitoring and I receive text alerts when transactions are made from my bank. I'm reporting this to the FTC.

They just called me.

And got an attitude when I ask to send me the information.

They told me I can read it when I am being arrested.

What in the world? People who work for companies like this should be ashamed.

Just received a call from a 210-762-6839.  I didn't answer and I called them back.  I told them I wanted to know more information.  The gentleman put me on hold then a lady came and she got very nasty with me after I told her that I am filing BK and they would be included.  She told me that this is a Felony of writing bad checks and that they was going to call the IRS and have my money taken and then have a warrant issued for my arrest and then she hung up on me.  I called back and she was very rude once again.  I stated ma'am you did not give me a chance to talk.  She said what do you want?  We told you all the information you need.  I told her I have rights and she said well your rights have been revoked have your attorney to contact us.  So I waited about an hour and I called back pretending to be an attorney.  They put me on hold for 10 mins once again.  I  hung up and called back, it just kept ringing and ringing.  Called back 4 times SCAM

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you

.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Same message that Dean got they called me on 5/28/14 and 5/29/14 one stated his name was Jonathan McNair and left 210-272-0208 to call back, the second day he said his name was Henry Morris and left 210-762-6839 to call back. I called back and did not give them any of my personal info and they new my name and stated I had 3 warrants out for my arrest because a company by the name of cash central and they were going to pursue this if I did not handle the matter that day. They stated I had some malicious warrant a warrant for writing bad checks and a third, I didn't understand what they said so I asked them to repeat the charges and he proceed to tell me I was a criminal and I replied by saying 1st you cant accuse anyone of anything and 2nd I need information about your company/attorney like address etc and the guy got agitated and louder calling me a criminal and then hung up on me. I told all this to my husband and he contacted the attorney general re: this who stated it was a scam and just to say scam and hang up when they call. We also looked up the cash central company who verified I have never even had any contact with the company.

Received call from Henry Morris from this phone number. He said he was pre trial intervention. He never said who the call was for but he wanted call back from whoever he called or that persons attorney. If no call from attorney or the person he will then proceed with lawsuite. He never states what company he is calling from. Now doesn't that sound strange? I don't line in Texas. Sounds like someone is attempting to scam people.
