If only I had y'alls tech savvy. I figured I'd play along long enough, thinking i could just hit the power switch if things got out of hand with their having access to my computer, began asking them why they typed poor english ("Windows security expired may crashed" while they kept saying it said security license) into a dos-box looking thingy (yeah, I don't know what i'm talking about), wondered why they didn't know their own company's web address.
Then they did something funky, opened up a couple of windows rapidly, set a startup password - which they never admitted they were doing and which i stopped once (still had SOME control of the mouse and could alt+tab), all while saying it was for security and growing frustrated at my growing frustrated - and then sent me to a Western Union account sign up page, even after I told them I couldn't afford their $120 they wanted to help fix my computer.
Probably not wise of me to decide to terminate the phone call and shut down computer then, as now i cannot access my computer. They called again after that, sounded terribly peeved, and when i asked why the {explitive} i couldn't enter my computer, they said that if i ever wanted to do business with then, i should call them at 210-888-0494. HE then hung up.

Whoever is still reading now probably considers me a total moron (don't worry, i agree with you). I had my reason for staying on. Perhaps the same people (i didn't listen to them then...or at least i remember as much) called me just before my last computer began to break down after about a year of use. I feared something similar would happen again. So i listened.

Received the same type of call as listed here. I was immediately suspicious, because I know how difficult it is to get a hold of a real Microsoft technician when You call Them. I knew they would not call me. However, I was concerned because they had my wife's name and knew our number and the state I was in. They originally said they were in Texas with a company named "Tri Go Mal". I Googled the name but got no results. They gave me the 210-888-0494 number but, when I call I get only silence then disconnect.
I asked to speak to a manager and was given to another person. These guys said they were in India and named Max Johnson and Chester. I asked them why Indians were given American names and they said it was easier for providing support. I told them there was no way I would give them control of my PC and asked what steps they recommended for cleaning my PC. I eventually lost connection from their end.
I can't believe someone would be stupid enough to let these guys on their PC.

Received a call from this number. He said his name was Rick Barker from Windows Technology Dept and they were receiving error coming from my PC. I know better then this so I played along. He asked if I had a Laptop or a PC. He then wanted access to my PC. I then asked him to clarify what department he was from and I fed the words to him - you are from Microsoft Windows Technology Department? This is where I tripped him up. He never said he was from Microsoft Windows originally, he only said he was from Windows. This is stupid and doesnt make any sense for anyone reading this that doesn't know that Microsoft doesn't call owners of their software. So this is where I began to lace into him. I told him that I have been a a user and a technician since Windows 95 and not that Microsoft DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE. He then began to backtrack on his words - he said he was from Windows, not Microsoft. Well, one goes with the other. And then I promptly continued lacing into him calling him every name in the book and telling him what a fraud he was and proved it with my background in computers and considering that he sounds like he is directly from the Middle East, I berated him for his name. No one from the Middle East is named Rick Barker. I gave him exactly what you would expect from a New Yorker - one rude profanity laced berating with the computer smarts to prove he was a fraud.

We received a call from WINDOWS, telling us some malicious code is generating errors in their system. After talking a little bit with this guy he wanted to turn on my computer to "help" by remote control to clean the errors.
I'm a computer tech and I know I have everything under control.
We denied give this guy the access he wanted because the call was too suspicious.
I do not know the real intention of this guy but if you receive a call from 210-888-0494 be aware!
