These people should be in jail. Also, they are not too bright. How are they going to scam you if their voice mail is filled up and cannot take your message?  I called the Austin number and it is no longer in service.

like everyone said, but I happened to be at the door when the guy knocked but he quickly walked away and I asked what is this about, he told me to call the phone. He is a young ~18-20 years old Hispanic driving a black sporty nissan.  I didn't have a chance to read the license plate because he took off in a flash.

Received a "Sorry We Missed You" card taped to my front door (second one today).  We are new homeowners in the last 6 weeks.  The company name on the card is "Compass".  It had my last name (handwritten) along with the address (handwritten) on the card.  There are phone numbers for both Austin and San Antonio listed, along with a confirmation number to give when you call.  We are not expecting any packages, and there is no other business info listed on the card - such as an address or website.  In today's market, any legitimate delivery business would provide a website/physical address for you to follow up.

From what I've read on this site from others, this is a marketing scam akin to reverse telemarketing.  Just throw away the card and don't waste your time.

This is a followup message from me... I called the San Antonio no. and left a message for them to call me back since you're on hold forever, I called again 1/2 hour later after reading these comments and  threatened them with a call to the TX attorney general's office to report them...they called back within 5 minutes from arizona and when I asked what they were there for, they said to drop off coupons for area restaurants and other things, I replyed, just leave them in the mailbox, they said "they will do that" (fishy)
I'm about to leave a complaint on-line to the TX AG.

The following was copied from another commenter that told exactly what happened to me....

We have been getting multiple " Sorry We Missed You!" delivery remainders ( Delivered by Compass) on our door in the last couple of weeks. It states that its their second attempt ,although  there have been multiple second attempts for these deliveries. There are couple of phone numbers - for Austin ( 512-661-1613) & for San Antonio ( 210-892-1614) & a confirmation number listed for call back.  This is a scam.
I checked online & found that it has happened in Phoenix, AZ & other places also. Mostly it is to collect credit card numbers & other personal info.Caller: Compass

Stop delivering these notices in Hollywood Park.  If they are soliciting in our city, it is a violation.. Notify  the Bexar County dipatcher at 335-6000 with the license number and car description.

Telemarketer
Compass is really active in Central Texas this month (January 2012).  Throw the missed delivery notice in the trash and don't bother calling to check it out.... their voice mail asks you to leave a message with your phone number if you don't want to wait forever on hold... how convenient.  They gotcha~!

WHY CAN'T THEY SELL THEIR PRODUCTS THROUGH NORMAL ADS AND STOP HARRASSING HOMEOWNERS?  OH, THAT'S RIGHT, NOBODY WOULD BUY THEIR PRODUCTS OTHERWISE!

Found a card on my door. Called thinking it was a delivery service. I am normally more paranoid about stuff like this but I was stupid and gave them my email address. They tried to get me to sign up for a GE security service right then, I told them hell no, that is when I figured out something was not right. I don't know what they are up to But I don't think it is good.

I received the same notice in my mailbox today with my name hand written "delivered by Compass, first attempt, please call to re-schedule delivery".  It appears someone actually put it in my mailbox.  I decided to look up the number and I am glad I did.  Seems to be bogus.
