REPEATED CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER SHOWN ON MY CALLER ID.  ANNOYING WHEN YOU ARE ELDERLY AND HAVE TO KEEP GETTING UP TO SEE WHO IS CALLING.

Received call from 1-212-000-3957 at 3:44pm telling me they could lower my credit card rates.  No number given to be removed from calling list even though I am on DNC list.  Told me to press 9 to speak to a representative.  I pressed 9 and a guy named "Rob" told me I see you pressed 9 to get lower rates. I asked him which credit card. He replied we can do all your credit cards. I then again asked him which credit card. He said we can do all we just need some information. I said what you really need is a number to push to take me off your calling list since I am on the DNC list-he hung up.

I just recieved a call from this number about 5 minutes ago. I do know that 570-454-8742 and 906-827-3605 are from people who are "skammers" and want money by confirming info about you and then sending a bill that you don't owe. Sometimes these calls are blank but I think this is another one of the numbers to add to the list. I am not going to answer the phone to any of these numbers and this is just getting to be crazy because why do people have to like be nervous (well i guess you can call it nervous) to answer the gosh darn phone. Anyway this is all I know and think about this!

I usually don't answer calls I suspect are telemarketers or scams but I was in a bad mood and ready to unload on whoever this was.  Caller ID said New York.  When I answered and said "hello" twice- no one answered.  When no one answers, it usually means the `boiler room' phone workers are dialing multiple numbers at the same time- then they just talk to the first one that answers- leaving the other people who were called talking to air.  Obviously the second part of the phone number, i.e., 000, is phony.  We need laws preventing phone "spoofing" and other obnoxious practices of these slimeballs.  Currently, sleazy companies can use technology to make ANY name or phone number show on caller ID.  They can also rig the phone number so that they can call out but no one can call in-by programming the number to say, "Disconnected or no longer in service" - even though THAT NUMBER JUST CALLED YOU!  They can also avoid people calling in to complain by using a number like this sleazy company using 212-000-3957- with 000 in part of the number.  I am sure there are millions of us who are sick of telemarketing and scam callers.  We need to get Congress or the Federal Communications Commission to do something!  Maybe Michael Moore could do a movie on telemarketers!
