Guy asked for _me_ by name (yes, I am the Co. owner/proprietor), said his name was Alex Brown from Olympia Capital Markets.  He said that he "hoped I would recognize his name", said he last recommended Taxtron stock to me, which "has done really well" and that he had another stock, Corning Glass, that he wants me to consider, that if it didn't sound to me like a good idea that I'd never hear from him again.

I didn't recognize his name OR company, I'm certain that I've never spoken to the guy before.  He sounded like a real a-hole scammer.  I backed him up, said I don't think you've got the right person, he said "Oh, yeah I do..." and gave my full name with correct middle initial.  I knew at that moment that he gotten my name and phone number from my business licence (which is considered public domain).  I corrected him, told him I hadn't done business with him before, which he acknowledged.  He started talking again, repeating what he'd said earlier.  Sounded to me like he was reading from a script.

I sent him on his way.  If he DOES call back, I'm going to add him to my blocked numbers...

I get several calls like this every month - I now make a note of the number and answer the call in a similar fashion...I'm playing with fire I know...

Some a****** guy just called our office from 212-111-1606...When I told him the boss is out until Monday, he hung up in the middle of my sentence. What a d***!!!

The next time this rude man calls my office looking for the partner of office he will get the ring tone before i do. Seriously he has no phone training at all to hang up on someone like that. I took your number down buddy so guess what you think you couldn't through this lets think again because you will never get through ever So stop trying.

Got this guy calling every week for the past 3 months and i got tired of him hanging up so I wrote down the number by the phone so when he calls I know who it is. So today he calls I answered and he asked for the owner. I said yes hes here and hung up on him! So i feel so great to give him a taste of his own medicine!!!!

OK I posted one her yesterday. The guy called back and I feel so much better. I picked up and he asked for the owner by name again and I said yeah hes here and hung up in his face. Hopefully he will get the picture and not call anymore. Also hopefully he knows how we feel!!!!!! :)

This is the same guy calling asking for my boss every week and he hangs up when I put him on hold. when i say that hes not in he hangs up. next time he calls I got either a oh yeah the owners in or im just going to pick up and hang up. make him feel dumb. hes lucky the number wont let me call back.

I have to agree, wish we could co-ordinate a day to take turns and call every 3 minutes and hang up.

Just got the same phone call from "Ron" at Olympia Management and found this page when looking for the return number via *69 (212-111-1606-not in service with in 30 seconds!). So I looked them up. Olympia Management is located in Manhattan phone number listed as 212-586-7525. Maybe we should all start calling and asking for Ron then slamming the phone down in THEIR office personel's ears and see how they like it? Why do phone companies even allow this type of number to be in service. Why are they promoting harrassing phone calls?

He called and asked for the CEO by name, when I reported he was unavailable, he hung up. Stop the waste of time.

Guy asked for our owner, I told him he wasn't in could I take a message and he slammed the phone down in my ear!!! RUDE!!! Tried to call the number back and it goes to call cannot be completed as dialed.

Someone at this number calls and ask for Jack and thens hangs up!  This is enough.  We are trying to run a business here.

Just received a call from this number asking for our CEO by his first name. (your not that smooth) I said, "He is actually not in the ..." CLICK. HOW RUDE..

First of all, no one calls the CEO on the main line. Those that need to speak to him knows how to get in contact with him. People like this just need to get a life and stop calling.. We are all to F-in busy for all this.

"Ron w/Olympia Management" or so he said he was, called and requested to speak with the President/CEO of our company to "return his call about an acquisition I'm working on".  When I asked him for his phone number, which our caller ID noted as 212-111-1606, he hung up the phone.

Got a call asking for the business owner. When told that he wouldn't be in until later, the clown just hung up without a word.

Same story as above, asked for the CEO by name & I said "Yes, he is in the office, I will transfer you to his sec...<click>". Couldnt believe it! I actually said YES and I heard a stunted "Thank you" and a fast hang up! Something is fishy, like they just want to actually confirm the name or if they are on-site or something.

Ron from Olympia Management called from this number and asked for the President of the company by name. I told Ron the President was in a meeting, but Ron hung up before I could even finish the sentence.

Same thing here.  We take up to a hundred incoming calls a day - don't have time for this garbage.  Can't find out who's calling, either.  I think it's a good idea - put him on everlasting hold!  We call caller ID - I'll get him next time!

Same thing as the messages above ... only when I go to get more information to tell hi the person he's looking for is not in ... I get to say "I'm sorry he's ...." and get hung up on. I never get to finish, and have never gotten any information. My caller ID only says the number and NEW YORK. They really need to be stopped, quit wasting my time.

Same here...Just recieved the call and he asked for my President of my company.  When i relayed he is on vacation this week, would u like..........click, he hung up before i could even get it out.  And rude, I didnt even like his voice!

Put the caller on HOLD!  Pretend that they're going to get to talk to whomever they ask for and put them on never ending HOLD!  Waste their time just like they're wasting yours.  Of course this will only work if you know this is a the type of call you don't want or you have caller ID and can pretty much weed out those types of callers.  But I am so sick of people calling and when you tell them the person they want to talk to is not in they hang up on you before you get out the part about taking a message for them.  People are so rude.  Really, do they think by being rude they will ever get through to the person they want to talk to?  Not on my watch!  They will just hold until they hang up.

This person/company calls our company once or twice per week. Every time, we tell them the CEO is not available and can we take a message and they promptly hang up. If you try to call the number back, it gives the cannot be reached as dialed message. Very unprofessional behavior and will someday lead to legal action.

This person calls me all the time.  I repeatedly ask him to stop calling, he denies that he has been calling, but I know his voice by now.  Every time I ask for information, he hangs up.  Today I called the number on the CID back several times to give him a piece of my mind, but every time is is busy!

I know what company this is that makes all of these calls.  Its John Thomas Financial.  I have told them many, many times to stop calling and they keep pestering us.

I agree with jmp.  Sick of these calls.  Polite to them but they hang up on us.  Should be some way to block this number.
