I see they are still advertising on cRAIGSLIst, AM and Metro. Sometimes they change the numbers, sometimes they change the phone number but the SCAM is the same. It is a shame that we don't do the research until after we have been there.

so awful, please tell your friends not to respond to this. Save your money these people are thieves...

I was also duped by these clowns who said I had a great "look" that was in demand. Hell, I'm retired and in my sixties. The place is a dump and they used email and asked for name and phone numbers. I was surprised that I got a call back the next day.

The big tip off for me was going into the next room to be photographed...I wasn't told to put on makeup or even comb my hair. LOL. When I left out the back door I was told to come back the next day with 3 changes of clothes for more pictures. I never went back and that afternoon being really suspicious, I looked up "photographers inc." and sure enough found out years of past scams posted on the net. A few days later I got an email from Alex Filipic telling me to come in and pick up my pictures. I never went. I did leave all the info about this with Craigslist including the job codes that they used.
Let the buyer beware. I don't want others to deal with these sleazy people.

I went in there today. first impression: "woah - this is shady"
you are given a form to fill out and sit in a small make-shift waiting room with posters of random movies. I thought someone was going to murder me in this creepy room - with music blasting, presumably so you don't hear any conversations/discussions/altercations happening in the next room, his office.
He speaks a hundred miles an hour to make sure you don't have a second to think clearly. He showed pictures of people he helped get started, now on posters around the city, or in films/shows, including a baby he claims to have gotten onto Baby Mama as an extra (tina fey was holding it in a picture).
He then proceeded to inform me on what to do, i.e. pay 150 dollars for pictures to get on the "database".
I simply said - I wasn't expecting to pay any money today - sorry. After a while, he offered to take just the headshot for 25 dollars. I wasn't buying it. He leads you out through another door so you don't come in contact with any future "clients", or people he wants to rip off. The guy is money hungry. Someone, please end this guy's act. He is stealing people's money. He says his name is Brad. His card reads Max Holden, model / talent director, number: 516-679-6107. The number that called me was 212-268-8013

I went their today and I should have known from the layout the place was a NO GOOD, but I ignored my gut and focused on the prize. The Guy "BRAD" is a fast talker, He assured me that he would push my pictures and I would make a lot of money, afterall he has been an extra for 15 years. He shows me pictures on Billboards, himself with famous people etc. I was obviously too excited to think straight. He said in order to do these things I had to have a professional portfolio and it would cost $130. A red flag went up right then, I tried to question him but like i said he's a fast talker. So i give my credit card and another red flag pops up, he charges me $153. I should have raised hell right there. He takes me to the back for some shots and I leave out the back door. I felt really uneasy about the whole situation so i decided to look them up, and Wha-La!! I see this & tons of other complaints from people they duped.

I called my bank to see if i could stop the pending transaction. My Bank (Chase, love them) will try to stop that merchant purchase but if for some reason it goes through, they guaranteed my money back.

I'm so stupid, I should have known better.

Oh and they're clearly changing their name and number which is why they're getting away with the scam... If you tell a friend that WNY is a scam.. and WMT contacts them, they'll think it's cool. If you tell em it's the same company and that it's a scam... and Max Ent contacts them, they'll probably fall for it too. It's kinda like my landlord who changes the name of his company everytime he gets sued. Lol. Only these guys are robbing innocent people. They're overly aggressive and pushy. They make it seem like you have to sign up NOW or else you'll miss your oppurtunity and stuff. Don't fall for it. I would go stand there and warn people, but I have things to do. Sadly, these guys will get away with it a bunch of times before they finally get shut down. When I went... 2 people before me had gotten scammed.. I saw them downstairs discussing it and they asked me how it went.. and I told them I didn't do it cuz it seemed like a scam.. and they seemed confused. I have yet to see those guys on Law and Order like we were promised... since supposedly Law and Order works EXCLUSIVELY with WNY for their extras. It's incredible. People will always fall into scams like this. It's a shame.

I agree. This is definitely a scam. I went on an interview there with my gf and they tried to make us feel like we had an awesome look and they really wanted to work with us. The Molly Sims photo in the background does seem very fishy. I don't know if it looks photoshopped cuz I didn't really take a good look at it. But either way, it's easy to be in the background of a picture. So he probably was doing extra work on somethings he was involved with. That pic meant nothing to me. They were trying to charge us 99 dollars to get headshots taken and stuff and I was like "But we already have headshots" and he's like "oh but you have to get our shots to be part of the company" and I'm like "that makes no sense" and he's like "every agency will do that." Which is BS, because I've communicated with a few agencies and they've never asked me to pay them on the spot for headshots. I was referred to a photographer before, but at WMT or WNY or w/e they call themselves now, they take you to the next room and take a picture of you in a room just as shady as the first waiting room you're in. Another big giveaway of this scam is the fact that they make you enter one way... and exit from another area of the building. Clearly they don't want the people to walk out of the office and warn the others. I refused to pay the money and the guy was extremely angry with me and my girlfriend, so we got loud with him and called him a few choice names and he threatened to 'blacklist' our names so we'd never work in this city. Clearly didn't work since I've gotten a few jobs without his name. If you get offered an interview in that building, don't bother. It's pure BS. The number that called me was 212-244-4431.. Obviously they have multiple numbers.

I went into thi "agency", now simply calliig itself "M" after replying to a Craigslist ad seeking extras for Law and Order: SVU and a Men In Black sequel.

I arrived at the appointed time. The agency's office was cramped and filthy dirty. I was brought into the agent's office. He called himself "Max Holden" and showed me an obviously photoshopped picture of himself standing behind the actress Molly Sims on the set of the television show "Vegas".

I told him that I was interested in working as an extra and tried to tell him about the other (unpaid) extra work I'd done in the past. He cut me off and proceeded to launch into a rapid-fire spiel about how I could do print work. I assured him that I was not interested as I am not a model and don't particularly like posing for photographs. Once again, he cut me off, telling me that he could photograph me right on the spot for a fee of $139. I was well dressed and well groomed but not at all camera ready.

Once again, he hit me up for money. I pled poverty. He then stated that he would be willing to take whatever it was that I currently had on me and promised to set up an installment plan. Sensing that he was scamming me, I stated that I didn't get paid until the next week and promised to come back next week. (I have no intention on returning, incidentally.)

"Max" then quickly hustled me out the back door of the suite away from the front lobby--probably to prevent me from warning the six other people who were still waiting for him. He did hand me a business card. No name of the company. No URL. And the telephone number had a 516 area code.

When I got home, I checked him out with the Better Business Bureau. His business, in its previous incarnation "World Model Talent", had received a rating of "F" as he had failed to respond to a complaint lodged by a previous customer. The BBB had him listed at a Queens address.

I already contacted the BBB as well as several other organizations but I'd thought I'd give everyone a head's up about the new twist to this guy's scam.

Hi everyone, I know that all of this what Brad West did to us is,.................I dont even have words for it,........but people that do sick stuff like that,...................will get their own kind, soon or late.
It's called KARMA what goes around comes around. A GOOD agency that need models or extras or what ever they are looking for doesnt take ANY money from you, they work with you to the top if they see that the talent you have is exactly what they are looking for! They need to give You money and not the other way around.

And I dont understand that people that works for him/ with him, can sit down and do sick stuff like that eighter...
And this is for,..... Crys? That said 'Brad West' made you a famous international supermodel? U must be dreaming, who are you trying to fool? you are one of his employees or Brad West himself, listen before anyone become a international supermodel they will have to become a national super model first. It's easier to say international than national supermodel huh? And its easier to sit down behind a computer typing BS after you had robbed soooooooooo many people huh? But YOU see YOU, go ahead and continue to do what you are doing to people, peoples children, peoples wife, peoples husband,........... Hhahaha just continue and you will see where you will end up.
You FOOOOOOL!

Anyway This is a lesson learned and we will keep it in the back of our head! that sick people that needs help like 'Brad West' do excist.Dont let 'Brad West' take your dream away form you!
'Brad West is sick, he need God and medication.

Good luck

Holy C-rap!

Well, add my name to the list of almost-scammed.  (I kind of want to go to my appointment tomorrow out of curiosity to see what these a***oles will try to do.)

the number I got called from was 212-244-4487  (similar to some other posters')

she sounded like some flunky who's paid to call all the responders and read a tired spiel.

Btw, I'm posting in the craigslist "general>suggest a category" area that there should be a SCAM forum, since you can't warn people in the job listings area without paying $25.

Ok- well they have a new number now. I got a call from him today, in reply to my Craigslist inquiry:

(212)268-9734

He was rude on the phone, almost didn't know what I was talking about when I asked which shows he works in partnership with, and I've worked in the industry in a few different positions of employment.

Glad to know I saved myself some precious time, and didn't have to go and experience his song and dance. Everyone stay away from this scam artist. For some reason he called himself Maxim, and sounded really rushed and out of breath.

Thank you so much I was planning to go there tomorrow. I am so glad to get this feedback. For some reason, the company has two numbers:
I found the first number in the AM new york newspaper (and their employment services are a total scam as well! If you call three numbers or so, they will lead you to the same exact person!) IN the newspaper, It said MODEL GIGS THIS SUMMER! The ad requested that people between the ages of 13-35 join up. The first time I called, the numer was 212-268-9706 and a woman answered. I asked her if I had reached the modeling employment agency and she said yes. She was very pushy (but polite) and was trying to get me to schedule an appointment for that day. I asked her if I could call back later on to schedule an appoinment and she was trying to see if I could have one the net day. As soon as I asked her if I would be getting payed and what the price range of salaries were, she said"All of that will be explained when you get there." Eventually, we ended the convorsation and I did not schedule a day to be interviewed...but she had told me that I could come to 224 WEST 35 STREET BETWEEN 7TH AND 8TH AVE. (ROOM 206) If I wanted to.

THE NEXT DAY, my mother received a call around 10/11:00 a.m. on our house phone. A man with really deep and 'Black sounding' (I'm Black too, I mean no offence to anyone!) voice called and asked to speak with me because he was from a modeling and acting company. My mother started to ask him questions and informed him that I was a minor and he started acting more ploite and said that he needed to speak to her too. He basically repeated himself and said that I would be in magazines and I would be acting for the company. Then, she gave the phone to me. He said that I was on a list to be intervied that morning. When I told him that this was not the case and I never  scheduled one, he seemed a little surprised and confused. I told him that I would call him the following week and schedule the interview. For some weird reson, I felt  like sking him or the number (just in cse I would loose it) The number he gave me was 212-268-8013. A few days later, I called him and scheduled one for tomorrow. I was very excited to try something new and I looked it up on line an hour ago. I am glad that I know it is a scam b4 I went there because I had been looking forward 2 it all week! I guess I will ask my friends who are in the modeling career or my relatives who have retired from their acting careers for help! Thanks So Much for saving me the disappointment! :D Screw u, WMT!!!!

So I never got a call from this number but was actually given this address in person at a bar in manhattan. I told this guy he looked like wesley snipes, then he said he got that a lot and actually knew wesley. He then proceeded to tell me he needed someone like me for casting small roles in movies and gave me the address and a number to call. I just googled the address and this is the top result. Sounds like a lot of people are falling for this b***s***.

These A******S! I want them shut down immediately! I was wary when the guy called me because I couldnt understand anything he was saying. I had submitted myself for a few ads on Craigslist the day before so I asked him which project they were casting for when he called me and he didn't know. He just said "We do a lot of stuff, feature films, and other stuff" then put me on hold for a couple minutes came back and told me I should come in for a screening. I spoke to a couple of friends and they said Do Not work Non-Union extra work. If I were to go today (thank god I did my research and found all of this) I was going to take someone with me, good thing I didnt have to waste anyones time! I called this morning to ask if they cast Union or Non-Union work and the girl said "umm... hold on" got back on the line, said, very rudely "did you just call??" me -"yes, do you cast union or non-union work?" she said "Ah don know, dey do bofe I fink! Holdon!" I obviously hung up the phone. wow... I wonder how many of these are in NYC. Tons I bet. It reminded me of HAIR when she gets her photo taken by that sleeze in a hotel in New York. Ugh. This disgusts me...
And the new number is... 212-244-4487

4/28/10 I sure am glad I looked into this. I almost fell victim to my first NY scam. I just moved here and was just trying to make some easy money. I wouldn't have given them a cent if I had gone in there, but at least now I don't have to waste my bills on the ride over there. I was nervous to begin with being that I am new to the city and what not. Thank you for everyone who has posted and confirmed that this is STILL an on-going scam. Really appreciate it!
