Just got a call from 212-444-7013. Caller ID says Scopia Capital - don't pick up any calls I don't recognized and they didn't leave any message. Must not be important. Sounds like there needs to be a SCAM catagory for this one!

caller said he worked for visa/mastercard and wanted to offer lower interest rates since i pay my bills on time. then he asked for my card numbers and i basically told him to screw off. he said that the card could not be used without the 3-digit security code in the back, but i dont believe that. just seemed pretty shady to me...

Just got a call from Scopia Capital as well. They did not leave a message and I don't pick up the phone if I don't recognize the caller.

I just now did a quick search on Google,, to find that Scopia Capital is some sort of investment outfit, involved in hedge funds, on 57th St. in Manhattan, NY. What the heck this sort of outfit would call our house for is beyond me.
I went to their web page, sent them an email telling them that this sort of call is considered intrusive and is unwelcome, and to cut it out. As a parting shot, the web page of this Scopia Capital wanted to download some sort of controversial .dll, which I refused.
I guess there have always been scurvy bottom feeders in the world, but the drug companies have caused their numbers to multiplyby literally impairing millions of brains, and technology has enabled them to infest the world at a much higher level than was apparent in the past!

Caller ID says "Scopia Capital." Left no message. ANY legitimate caller will leave a message.
THere needs to be a category on this site for "pest calls" as that is the biggest category of all these calls we report on- so I am forced to use 'prank call"..
