As to the questions above, the way to stop them is the following:
1. Report them to the company they use for phone service. In this case MCIMETRO, ATS, INC.
2. Report them to the DEA (http://www.justice.gov/dea/submit_tip_form.htm)
3. Don't answer your phone if you don't know who is calling. If it is important, they will leave a message. If not, they are probably one of these scammers.
4. Get a call block feature if one is available to you.

Actually, to the poster above, this particular phone number uses:
Mcimetro, Ats, Inc
Though, I do agree with the premise, file a complaint with Mcimetro, Ats, Inc with the same info.

I just saw this post on the board of another one of these phone numbers. Check your cell records, mine supported what the poster said. These people are Magic Jack users. He wrote the company that owns them and gave them a list of phone numbers that call him and try to illegally sell him drugs. He asked them to stop service to their customers who use those numbers and turn them in to the DEA or FBI. The only way to contact the parent company is through snail mail. Nonetheless, it seems worth a try.

Same calls same numbers. These people will also call from time to time from different phone numbers pretending to be DEA or FDA agents another way to try and extort money. Phone Pharmacies are fake and will sell you fake medication DO NOT BUY. I have blocked most calls however, I have found that when I ask them for their DEA registration number -which they will not give you because they do not have one- I then inform them that the number they have just called has been turned over to Special Investgation Unit gathering information on fraud and illegal pharmacies and if they would like to continue to call they are welcome to so that I can gather more information on them. Most of the calls have stopped. Good Luck. Remeber what they are doing is illegal RHA (Ryan Haight ACT) they are more worried about getting caught especially if their mail address gets flagged at US Customs or flagged by USPS. Thus what they send out will get traced back.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat...I too had used a couple online companies back in 2003-2005, before most were shut down, for legitmate pain management needs. I've received a lot of harrassing phone calls over the past two years, and it's no doubt they are scammers each and every time. Thankfully I found an online pharmacy that works and is 100% legit.

These guys continue to call and harrass. Lately, I've been answering the phone and speaking in a loud voice with jibberish. I try to sound like an old, crazy Chinese woman. What's weird is they actually stay on the phone....they refuse to hang up, even when clearly there is no conversation happening. It's just me yelling made-up Chinese words at the top of my voice. Maybe they get paid per minute...

Received a call from 212-457-1987 on my SkypeIn office number at 12am EDT. Didn't answer, based on the feedback here, I'm glad I didn't.

Received a call at 3:30 a.m. with an automated voice message saying to press 1 to hear more about unauthorized use of my GE debit card. Calling at this hour totally catches you off guard and you might be tempted to comply. Don't do it! When I called the number back, it said "you have reached a nonworking number." Unreal...right?

I got the "debit card" call a few minutes ago...11:15pm MST. No legit bank is going to call that late! Interesting that this is a NY # but they called saying they were a bank thats headquartered in my city. It seems like they picked a random local bank hoping that it might actually be mine in order to trick me...pathetic!!!

They called, I picked up and they hung up right away. I googled the number to see if this happened to anyone else, and apparently yes.

Came up as RDG Utilities. They said there was a problem with our debit card and they needed to reactive it. Asked for the 16 digit number. So, 1234 5678 9012 3456 wit a PIN of 6789.

Try answering the call like this "Detective Johnson can I help you?" You aren't saying you are a police officer...

Blocked the number for 90 days at verizonwireless.com via the "my services" pull down menu, then "spam controls".
Will need to re-apply the block after 90 days, but better than nothing

I have blocked there number. However several weeks ago (before they got blocked) I asked them to provide me with DEA reg. number (all pharmcy must have one when selling controlled substance). the reply was that they were not allowed to give that out- I informed them that they are required to do so the guy called me a few names and then hung up.Ironically, two hours later I get call from some other numer of person claiming to be a DEA agent -obviously with the accent and a few other tell tale clues it was same company not DEA (since I have several friends that work for DEA) they usually do not call they show up at house or work or send local police to pick you up for questioning in formal recorded setting. Anyway this pharma company is obviously a fake and is also attempting the DEA scam for ordering drugs over phone.

212-457-1987 called cell phone verizon service. Bogus msg about a bank debit card. Unable to connect to the caller. How do I block this? Do I need to be concerned or just ignore those calls? Do I need to change my service and #?

An automated call came from 212-457-1987 to my wife this afternoon on her cell phone saying that it was the bank and her debit card had been cancelled. To re-activate her debit card she was to call back and leave her 16 digit debit card number. So they have moved from drugs to banking. Another scam attempt.

I too have been getting redundant phone calls per the number above, offering Hydrocodone. The number they reach me at is my business cell phone. I reported this activity to the DEA but nothing gained. They have been warned and told numerous times to not call.

If you or someone at your current phone number has used "online pharmacies" in the past to obtain (what was prior to 2007 legal consultations with a real doctor to obtain sch 3 narcotics such as Vicodin, Lorcet etc) drugs . When this internet companies went out of business the lists were sold to scum like Organized crime and other lowlifes so with today's technology like the Magic Jack where you can call from any "phantom Zipcode" etc , these people try to get you to buy vicodin via COD orders without any Dr. consults and its totally illegal.
Best thing to do is call your local phone co and have the number blocked. These boiler room operations will always be around. Dont sweat it. And stop demand our governenment "do something" there are ways you can do something just by calling your local carrier.
See when government gets involved , and changes the whole world around...those of us with legit issues such as in my case with documented medical conditions that warrant narcotics are at the mercy now of Doctors that so scared of losing their license to practice that people are commiting suicide that can't live with chronic pain.
This is the long answer to those unwanted calls.
| Melissa 2011-06-30 16:21:39 Unknown |
you ask them a whole bunch of questions about their supposedly pharmacy online and they hang up on you...

When I answer calls from 212-457-1987 with my Business Name (we have a home business) they just don't say a word, but they don't hang up either. Can anyone do something about these people. We won't we picking up these calls anymore.

This is a scam operation who keeps repeatedly calling me trying to sell me prescription pain medication (likely fake medication at that). I've told them numerous times to take my number off their list and they keep calling. I just set up a "Forward" on my phone system for when they call me again (you'll like this!) - their call will be immediately transferred to the FBI. :-)
Maybe after that happens a couple of times, they'll stop calling my number.

The above number called and said they owe me $1250.00 and wanted me to purchase a Wal-mart cash card and they would have the $1250.00 deposited to that card. What a scam !!
