If they are screening applicants they should leave a message so you know its not a scam!  Only serious callers tend to leave a message.  These types of calls are extremely annoying!

This is a scam. They call you and charge you for the call. Unfortunatley there are too many scam artists feeding on job seekers. They will make you hold for exactly three minutes and then bill you for the call. How this works is a mystery. They have done exactly the same to me.

Yep, I missed a call from this number today, with no voicemail message, so I called back and I got the "All Circuits Are Busy" line.  I stupidly tried calling back and got the same thing.  I'm wondering if it's charging me to call it back.  I am also posted on online job boards.  MUST BE A SCAM!

I've gotten a couple of these calls and it's annoying, when they leave a one-word message and you can't understand what they said because it's a pre-recorded message and when I tried calling back all circuts are busy.

I usually hang up when I hear a recording, but when I got this call they say it is about a job application I send online, and I did send an application online about a week ago. After waiting on hold for like 30 seconds, the call was dropped. I called back and got the busy circuits message. I waited for a while and called back and waited short time and this guy ask for the phone number in my application and the called got dropped again. I called back again waited for like 10 seconds and this girl called Rosie ask for my number and she said she is from Employment Select. She asked me if I had time for a pre selection interview that could take between 5 to 45 minutes. I told her I did not have the time, but the truth is I would not have given her any of my personal information. Good luck to them if they want to charge my cell, I have metro PCS they charge me flat fee 45 a month. I am not sure they are legit, but rather not do the interview.

If you fill out an application and they ask for references or cell phone carrier, delete all info and move on. I am even hesitant to answer adds on craigslist if it does not reference a specific company.  Unless of course it is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an honest pyramid or MLM deal.

Just got a call from this number, but it's been months since I've been searching for a job.  I looked about 5 months ago, so it's strange that this is happening now.  I called back and got the same recording.  I'm with everyone else thinking this is some type of scam.

i just received a call from this number. it told me to hold while a verification specialist gets on the line. I immediately googled this number as i've had WAY too many scammers calling me. thats the downside to filling out applications online i suppose. Anyway i actually did speak to a lady who said she was calling in regards to my resume (i applied for a receptionist position). She verified my information and said she'd forward my application to the employer looking to hire people and that he'd get back to me to set up an interview. And then she went on to ask if i was interested in furthering my education online and i said yes (i wanted to see how long they'd stay on the line with me) so she transferred me to a rep from education connect who spoke to me about several different schools i can attend online to receive my degree. I JUST got off the phone with them. As far as whether or not it's a scam, i honestly cannot say... i'm really confused... this is the first time an employer has been over excited abou me furthering my education. i don't know WHAT to think. if they call me back at all i'll post it up here... thanks for listening!!

This number called me this morning at 10 am. I didn't answer because it said New York I live in Colorado and I thought that was weird. They didn't leave a message. I also was posting my info on job sites, like career builder, and popupcareers. I don't feel safe knowing that someone in new york has my info and I never even applied there. I'm not doing online resumes anymore like that.

I received this phone call twice, both times since I did not recognize the phone number, I let it go to voice mail.  No message was left, when I goggled the number this site came up.  I also have my resume posted on several boards, Careerbuilder.com, Monster, MI Job Talent Bank, and have also submitted my resume to several craigslist job posting.  I am now hoping that because of my honest desire to obtain a 'real' job by posting my information via resume, Name, address, phone numbers and life time work history is not going to come back to haunt me.

I got a call fromthis number this morning.  when i checked my caller id, i called the number back and got a message that said "all circuits are busy." I havent posted any of my info on any job sites.  I think this is a scam to get info.  If someone calls from this number again...dont give them any information.  When i did a reverse lookup on the number it said that it is a landline based number but no more information.

Yes. Same thing. They just called at 9:10am on 9/12/08.  It hung up after stating please hold for application representative.  Most likely this is spam and I'm going to report it to BBB.

I also just received a call from this number. I spoke to someone whose name she claimed was Rosie. I answered because I posted my resume on several job sites and several of the companies corporate offices is in New York. The young lady stated the position I had applied to, my work and education experience. I was only on the telephone for less than 5 minutes but it did seem odd to me that she was calling and not someone from a Human Resources office from the companies in which I applied. I will also block that number from my telephone. I guess great minds think alike because we all decided to check this so-called person from Employment Select.

Hi, I received a call on my cell phone and not recognizing the number, I didn't answer as I did not want to pay for a call whose number I did not know!  The only message on my voice mail said representative and it cut off abuptly also.  I also have my resume on several job sites so it has to be something to do with finding work.  If anyone finds out who this is please share.  Thanks and have a good day!

They called an I was busy.  I too have my resume all over the place.  But I only reply to jobs online on Mondays.  They mentioned a job that I applied to on a Saturday. Smells like a scam.

Its a spam scam. They send out applications asking for cell carrier and email addrreses for refrences. What ligit company does that? I forwarded the email they sent me to internet fraud goups to track down the IP address of these clowns. I have resumes on monster, carerr builder, etc... I think it is absolute garbage these scum use resumes of people looking for employment to spam about online universities and credit solutions companies. These idiots are contracted by online universities and credit solution companies to find "likely" consumers. So next time if you come across an application asking for your cell company, if you are in debt, or email accounts of refrences, DO NOT DO IT.

Please see comments for numbers: 806-576-0589, 323-429-7523, & 603-214-3647  As well, read my call comments for these numbers. As I believe they are being used together (somehow), to make fraudulent calls outside of the country (mostly), from cell phone carriers and then being billed to individual cell phone owners.

Wow, everyone who thinks this is a scam is a moron. I actually did answer the phone and talk to someone, instead of just assuming it was a scam. All they do is verify information for the companies that you applied to. They are actually the first step to getting hired. They don't ask you for any information that they don't already have, and they certainly don't ask for any personal info like SSN or credit card numbers. Maybe if more of you would pick up the phone and talk to someone you wouldn't be sitting at home without a job. More and more companies are using companies like this to screen their applicants. With the amount of people that apply for jobs nowadays the HR dept of the companies don't have the time or resources to screen all potential applicants to see if they are qualified. All this company does is screen applicants for companies that are doing the hiring. Get a clue people.

I got this same call last week and was excited about someone calling back for my employment app w/employment agency. Tried to call back, and sure enough, it says, "All circuits are busy now". Tried again this morning, same thing. The rep. wanted to verify all my applicant information and it will take 45 mins. I told her, I won't be able to call back until tomorrow. So she said, well just call us back at the number I rec'd. After doing some further research, the company she mentioned I applied for, does not outsource their application to be verified by anyone/or any other company. Therefore, this is totally a fraud/telemarketing. Please do not release any personal information to these types of calls..It is definitely happening more so now. This can only lead to ID Theft, especially if the rep wants to verify your social security number, name, address and etc...For those of you who may want information regarding ID Theft, please send me an email at: legalprotection4u@verizon.net. Thanks JJJ.
