OK folks; please let me try to shed a little light on this thread.

First off, my name is Yvonne Foxworth. I'm a Career Counselor at American Careers (NYC offices).
For the doubters out there, I must say sorry for any confusion or
misconceptions about us, but we certainly are NOT a scam. I've been
here for 6 yrs. Indeed, I'm very happy with the results I have
personally obtained from the many Applicants I've assisted to gain
employment at various airports/airlines across the USA. Success stories
with many different types of Positions, at varying pay rates, anywhere
from $14 to $22 / hour.

Regarding our Service, we simply assist Applicants obtain employment
through the information that we email/mail them to get them started with
the Application Process. We then follow up with phone support via our
Career Counselors to assist them in every aspect of the Application
Process (Application, Resume, Cover Letters, Thank You Letters,
Interviewing Techniques, etc) through our Airline Career Development
Guide & our Airline Hiring Update, which includes current listings
of Airline Positions & descriptions which the Applicant may then
apply for at various Airlines. We will attempt to obtain as many
interviews for the Applicant as we possibly can. The $39 one-time fee
we charge is refundable in the event we are unable to obtain employment
for the Applicant.  Details are included in the paperwork the Applicant
receives.  This is a vast amount of information & assistance which could potentially require many hours to perform individually. This Service will soon be available to Applicants via a new website now under
construction:

http://www.AmericanCareers.us

We have many success stories here with regard to Applicants who
have taken the time & effort to read / follow the instructions
listed in our Program, and have indeed obtained employment at various
Airports across the USA. Obtaining employment takes time and effort.
If Applicants are not willing to follow instructions or contact us for
help, we can't possibly assist in those efforts. I will gladly
personally assist anyone out there in their efforts to obtain
employment.
Sincerely,

Yvonne Foxworth

I just sent my $ in and have already heard from the recruiter Robert Mareem.  I have read this site and did my research before sending in my $.  I have had 3 calls from Robert thus far.  I have to say at this point I don't think that this is a scam.  I am here because I have been reading the comments and am doing a project for my college class.  So, I will keep this up to see if I can truly get a job.

Do not Apply, airlines do not use staffing agencies.

Just a question.
Why a "legitimate" company ask you to send cash and not to send personal check?
It should be the opposite way.

I would NEVER send them money.

Yeah right, you already got this supposed "job" at UA and now you want to come visits a site -- where people look up phone numbers to figure out what they are -- and tell us what a wonderful experience you had?

You are a stupid shill and an incompetent scammer. You're surely not a "happy customer" because happy customers don't need to come to a site like this -- "happy customer" posts like yours are invariably from the scammers themselves.

Now go back to the boiler room where you came from, you filthy scammer.

I just wanted to say that I called the number and sent for the help that American Careers offers.  I mailed in my information and then I waited about a week and a half.  I got a package in the mail and I read through it, then I called the #, spoke with Kevin Blackford.  He was the one that led me in the right direction to find a job.  I am currently working for United Airlines.  I say that this company is unlike some out there and they are for real!

Wow, A lot of harsh words from people who have never called the phone number and found out what American Careers is all about.  I went to rip-off report and have done all of the research.  I can't find where they are scamming anyone.  They ask for a $35 processing fee which is refundable and that is put into writing.  You really have to be a fool to think that this day in age you can pay for a job.  This company is there to help you to get a job with the airlines.  They tell you of all of the benefits that the airlines have for you.  What do you want for a company to do....ask you to send cash?  I mean come on people a money order is just as dangerous for a company.  Think about it, they lose money if a person stops payment, if there is a fraudulent money order, use your head.  This company from the looks of rip off report has been around for a long time...so if they were indeed a scam, they would have been shut down many years ago.  I am going to send in a money order to check out this company.  I see that people are on here to bad mouth not to see what the truth is.  I found this company in the New York Daily News...so lets see if they are for real!

These American Careers have NOTHING to do with the airlines.

Be advised airlines do their own hiring.  Look at their official websites and go their careers page.

NEVER NEVER NEVER send money anywhere... ailines do NOT charge for applying!!!

NEVER NEVER NEVER believe recruiters on the phone and asking for money upfront for uniforms... Airlines do not request for  money.

Lastly, You have to go thru an extensive background check, fingerprinting, and SIDA testing with the airport authorities before you can even work at an airline!!!!  That can take up to 2-3 weeks!

DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!!!!

I think it is - asking for a $35 fee to process paperwork is a red flag.  Shame on them taking advantage of people searching for jobs.  It's just so sick.
