I am sick of these calls. They are not anything but scams. What good did it do to register on the Do Not Call registry???
Dave F 2014-06-17 20:14:07 Unknown
Typical Federal Gov't. operation, Spend the taxpayers money, and accomplish nothing. Just employ the Presidents friends!
Lipitus 2014-06-17 01:59:42 Unknown
Called our mid-fl landline at 11.12a on 6/16/14. No msg was left and caller id reads "New York NY" so no info. Calls like this are always from scammers.
Jim 2014-06-17 01:33:49 Unknown
If you have VOIP service, check out www.nomorobo.com. It actually works.
Jim 2014-06-17 01:31:50 Unknown
It's the Federal Communications Commission, not FTC. But that doesn't do any good anyway.

Another call from these scammers. Aggravating morons.
jen 2014-06-16 19:08:29 Unknown
We won a free medical alert and a $1,000 gift card to Walmart! What a scam. Call the number back and no one ever answers. Do not call list does nothing to stop these people.
Mary 2014-06-14 23:20:18 Unknown
Same thing here
mike 2014-06-14 22:59:00 Unknown
Simple question - - I do not understand why people pick up if they do not know the number. No wonder the scammer make out like bandits - ( Which they ARE )
Mike 2014-06-14 22:53:37 Unknown
Surprise -Surprise-Suprise
Ton 2014-06-14 15:09:45 Unknown
Unwanted call keeps calling me 1051 am then 1108 am trying to sell me a security system with free grocery coupons multiple days

To fight these scum you have to take action yourself.....the do not call list is a joke (the FCC and congress have proven to be lapdogs for big business telemarketers and is now moving to give them and big media priority fast lane access to the internet.....the FCC chairman is (surprise) a former telecom lobbyist. Get yourself a little call blocker device and just plug it in to your phone line.....it will be the best money you ever spent.....lots of them out there, check Google and Fleabay. I got a device called Pro Call Blocker last year and it only costs around $50. It stores up to 1500 or so numbers and uses caller ID. When a spam call comes in, all you have to do is hit the blacklist button and presto, no more calls from this number (you can also manually enter numbers to block, entire area codes or all out of area numbers). It logs all calls in or out. If you get this one, be sure to get the latest version (last I looked it was 2.2). There is also another similar device called T-lock blocker which looks similar and came out late last year. Plenty of devices to choose from and believe me, it will save lots of aggravation and quiet down your phone line.........

(212) 662-1295 New York, NY - they hung up after 2 rings. Not very efficient, are they?
susie able 2014-06-13 23:43:35 Unknown
no one on the other end ......I just hung up
Fuzzworth 2014-06-13 19:13:19 Unknown
Got a one-ring call from 212-662-1295 -- my guess is that someone in a telemarketing "boiler room" dials several numbers at a time and just picks up the first one that answers, hanging up on the others. I also tried call-back, which give an error message; then I dialed the number and got a not-in-service message. So I blocked the number via my phone menu. I hope that handles it. I've reinstated myself on the no-call list for telemarketers a half-dozen times, but it never seems to "take." Sigh.
Delila S 2014-06-13 16:40:49 Unknown
Receiving hang-up calls almost daily. When I tried to call the number back, operator said not in service.
mred88 2014-06-13 15:56:01 Unknown
I also had it slip past my Nomorobo, but will also report it. The more numbers Nomorobo has in it's data base, the better.
Poppy 2014-06-13 15:31:19 Unknown
At least ATT has a service that can sometimes actually trace the originating number. It is a star plus service.I haven't filed any complaints as of yet, but if I answer and tell the caller what I have done they say they will remove me from their listings. I do know, my calls ahve dropped off somewhat.
jack44 2014-06-13 10:02:42 Prank Call
They called many times before, different numbers, this time phone rang twice and they hung up. It looks like they are getting tired of being yelled at. Such low life, thank goodness for caller ID. New York this time on caller ID, they try everything but fail all the time.
Me 2014-06-12 18:13:07 Unknown
IF someone answers..... we tell them to hold on a second, then pick up a good loud referee's whistle which we keep next to the phone and blow it as loud as your lungs will allow.......They usually don't call back! and, it makes you feel all warm inside.

New York pot smokers, hawking "medic alert" crap again. They call several times a day.
Pearl race 2014-06-12 05:52:11 Telemarketer
This number calls me frequently. It has always been during the day. Tonite at 1:27 a.m. They called me and I automatically answered the phone, not looking at the caller I.d. I am mos aggravated with them. Attempted to call back and the message tells me phone is not in service.

A telemarketer scam call (Obama phone?) Blocked this jerk existing in NYC, the socialist state.
Finally... a great way to block those annoying unwanted random robot junk/sales calls like those that announce Security or Card Services or Medical Alert calls and the like, some leave a message others do not!!!
Go ?On-line? and check/Google articles concerning <www. NoMoRoBo.com> IT WORKS!!!
We use "Vonage," a VoIP phone service. "Magic Jack" and "Charter?s Phone" currently do not. Our Panasonic Call Blocking Phone is limited to blocking only 30 unwanted calling numbers which must be monitored and updated.
NoMoRoBo's FREE service currently scans a blacklist of 1.2 million known robocallers, providing the same Call Blocking Service!!! Known/listed robocallers come from folks complaints, filed by state and federal regulators.

I called back after answering the phone. This is not a working number it said. I hung up when I answered a recording something about "seniors"
naomi 2014-06-11 14:24:15 Unknown
I don't even bother to answer the phone anymore. The answering machine is set for 2 rings, which means one ring then transfer to the ans. mach. Awhile back, CONSUMER REPORTS sent me something they'd come up with for getting the gov't to deal w/these telemarketers/phantom callers. I'm truly sorry I didn't sign their petition or whatever it was. Alas, I'm sick of petitions at this point; everybody and his brother has a petition to e-mail out.
At least CR has been a helpful source of information in the past.
