Yes they did same to me. I researched the company but they made everything look they are physicians or collection agengy. They hang up and people will call them because they got a call from doctors or collection agenty but they will try to sell something or scam.

Very suspicious disguised business as group of doctor Doctors. PHD even don't mean Doctor. They just call ask for someone they already know name and hang up to attract.

I just got a missed call on this number in the UK, if it is a stocks and shares company trying to sell me a fantastic money earning offer, why don't they buy them themselves instead of telling everyone else about it!

Just saw a missed call from this number on my phone when I came to the office. Clearly not gonna phone them back, but if they call me again, I will just reverse the game and if they offer me great investements, I will tell them I will invest, if they invest x-amount into MY VERY LUCRATIVE business.... normally shuts them up for good.

I have no idea who this company is but they should be blocked as it is simply a boilerroom trying to sell worthless shares. I have a Dutch mobile number and have no contact of this sort with the US. Please have this  reported and stopped.

I have had a call from this firm (PHD) tonight on my work mobile? How they got my name and number I don't know. It looks like they are trying a new fresh easy going approach now - he was very polite and said asked if I mind if he e-mailed me (also had my e-mail address?) and will call me back in a couple of weeks, I asked regarding what? and he said they have an icredible investment opportunity i would be silly to miss out on, "the market in America is bad at the moment but there is real growth projected and for a SMALL investment of £5000 I should double my money in less than 12 months!". These AR**HOLES are out to RIP US GOOD PEOPLE OFF and something needs to be done.

When he calls back in a couple of weeks I will lead him on for as long as possible and very much look forward to it.

As for the guy who commented before me, WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KID MAN??? You work with these scumbags too then eh?

I was contacted from this number and I found the guy very nice to talk to. Resulting in that I bought Apple shares for $1000 from Adams Wealth Management Inc. and they have almost doubled in value on a year and a half. PHD is their bank. A serious company it seems to me.

Got a call from this number. The guy said his name is James Bussy (sp?) with PHD Investments. I asked for a callback number and he hung up.
Anyone on this site that says this is a legitimate firm is probably James Bussy writing .............

Hm, so they are calling Mathias-es in Norway at the moment judging by the list above me. Interesting. I got a call from a Something-something Cook (Wayne maybe?) and a rather lengthy selling pitch. Nice guy and all but I was completely thrown off by getting a salesperson calling from the states. If he calls again, I'm just going to shut him down.

Someone called me from this number and knew my name.  I live in Norway and he started talking about the stock marked in the US and that he could offer me a good deal.  When I told him I wasn`t interested, he started asking me about the stock marked in Norway.

I've just had a call from this number asking to speak to the Managing Director of a company I used to own (now closed). I said it doesn't exist anymore, he said "ok, sorry" and hung up.

Looking at the names of previous reports above, they seem to be going alphabetically by first name and must have reached 'S'. I live in the UK.

Got a call from this number and I am in teh Caribbean. He was extremely rude and hung since he wanted to speak the the head of the household, thinking the head was male. Did not even wait to to find out I was the head of my household and he hung up before I could tell him off for calling my line and wasting my time.

These guys just won't stop. I'm living in the Middle East and apparently they think you automatically have a lot of money. Will not answer again if they call and I advice any reader of this comment to do exactly the same. Once they pop, they just won't stop.

Got a call today from this number.  The guy (an American) calimed to be calling form PHD Stockbrokers on Wall Street (can't find them on the FINRA database at brokercheck.finra.org - there is an organisation called PHD Capital but he definitely said PHD Stockbrokers not PHD Capital).  I told him that I wasn't interested as it was my belief that cold calling to sell investment advice is not legal.  He sounded surprised and said surely it wouldn't be a problem if he were to send a brochure.  I said "yes absolutely it would be a problem" and he hung up.

Next time I get such a call I'm going to say "can you please hold the line" and let him waste his own time just waiting.  It'll save some other people's time too.

I've just received a missed call from the infamous number and I'm in the UK.  Glad I found this post before I answered the call, which I will do.

I think Mahpet, the last poster, has the best idea, keep 'em holding.  The calls will be costing them something, even if it's just in terms of the time spent making them, so I shall waste as much of their time as I can be bothered to.  I am going to play along and then ask them for time to think about it and could they call me back and then I'll keep stalling (I'll be soooo busy with customers coming out of my ears that they'll think they stumbled on to a right cash cow).

Hopefully some of you out there may get some slight satisfaction from knowing that while they're chasing my millions they won't be able to con someone else.

Can't wait for him to call me back now!

Unless of course he realises that I'm female and totally incapable of making investment decisions for myself or my dependants, doh!!!

Guys, I am from India, and this guy James Bassey has been calling me from this number many times in the last one year. He is a marketing guy with a stock broking firm in NY, and is good at his sales pitch. The problem begins when you tell him that you are not interested to invest in the US stock markets, he gets very aggressive and annoying. The last time he almost shouted at me for not having faith in him, what a loser !!!

Also the last time he called me and I told him that the Indian stock markets give much higher returns than the markets in the US, he was so annoyed and then started a long heated debate. I had made up my mind about calling his company and lodging a complain against him because his last conversation was very very racial, where he asked me if Indian markets are so good then why india has poor people and why so many Indians go to the US for employment, and if india is such a nice country which I claim it is, then why is there no infrastructure and blah blah blah. I was very annoyed by the end and after all this he has the guts to tell me that he feels sorry for me because I live in India. I was so angry that he passed such a racial comment about india. He is rude, aggressive and inhuman.

I have been receiving calls from this bunch of misfits for a while. I live in the UK and apparently my mobile phone company can't do anything about the calls. I've set my phone to divert them to answerphone.

They called on my land line and they didn't listen to my "I'm not interested" so I hung up on them and wrote them a polite email suggesting that they should stop calling me and any more calls I would pass them to the appropriate authorities.

I'm sorely tempted to take them to the Police and let them deal with it.

Yup - same here.  I guess it's a boiler room using parallel dialing - first schmuck to pick up the phone gets the spiel, the other calls get dropped.  That's probably why it varies from 2 to 8 rings before it goes quiet.

Happens in the afternoon, roughly twice per working day.

I also live in Denmark and was called by this number. I didn't get to pick up the phone in time. I pressed redial and got a machine answering something about  ?paren? holding company and something more I didn't quite get. Maybe they are just calling random numbers they can get from the online phone directories.
