This is a Chase number. We were able to verify and stop fraudulent charges after we were called by Chase at      800-454-9078.  We requested a call back and were immediately contacted from 213-225-8842. We also called the Chase Fraud number at 800-955-9060 and the numbers check. If you have a Chase card, checking account or a debit card, I would strongly suggest you talk to them. If you have some reason to believe that the CID is spoofed, talk but no info, thank, and call the number on the back of your card. I am leaving the <Call Type> as "Unknown" because there needs to be a "Presumed Legitimate" choice.

on 02/04/13  I receive a letter ask to review acct activity, after talk with Chase about balance transfer and review my acct. every thing was ok.2 minutes after my call ands another call came from chase and the person
that was helping me transfer the call for the  number 213-225-8842 and they ask me for my information.
When I start to give my bank acct number something clicks and I put the person in hold and call that number back. No answer. I hang up and call the Chase credit card. I told what happens and they are gain to give me a new cards. What concern me is that there is inside the bank somebody giving my information away.

Chase calling about your Master card usage. They market this product as a 'World' or 'Voyager' card and then are constantly putting holds on it when you try to use it on the other side of the world.

I had legit dealings with Chase Fraud and had their direct line 800-454-8095.  About 5 min after I dealt with Chase the People Support called and I missed the call but they left a message with an 800 number and left a message noting that I had just talked to Chase.  I called and it rang with no answer and no machine.  I then called the 800 number and Chase had no knowledge of them calling me.  They asked for the caller ID info and I told them People Support 213-225-8842 and Chase Fraud had no idea who they are.  I called the PS number back and got no response.  They called me back about 5 min later and it was the same lady was on the phone.  Chase has 2 main call centers, one in Luzon, Phillippines and one in India.  I doubt any of them should have a 213 area code caller ID number.  Your best bet is to call the number on the back of your card or visit your bank and have them do the calling.

Chase Security dept. knew nothing about this number.  As far as they could tell, no one was trying to reach me.  If it's really them, then why the phony name?  I don't trust any of em.

It rings 4 times, then hangs up.  Doesn't even wait for it to go to my answering device.  What's the story?
How does anyone know it's Chase calling?  Their security dept. denied any knowledge of this number.  It shows on my caller id as People Sumthin.. .

There WAS a time when your local phone co. would supply the listing on any number.  I guess those days are gone.

Yep. Verifying charges on our credit. Doesn't look legit as it came up as "People Support" on the caller id, but it was. There was an attempted large fraudulent charge to our card and tChase caught it. Very thankful...

It is indeed Chase Mastercard verifying a transaction.

Just got three calls from this number. The first time when I answered the call was disconnected. Then they called back twice and I didn't answer as I am abroad and don't wish to incurr roaming charges!

Re:  1-213-225-8842    This caller called me three times in rapid succession but did not leave any message.  I called back, and no one answered.  Also, there was no option for leaving a message at this number.
