So I kept getting calls from this guy. I would tell him that the family member he was asking for was unavailable and he could leave a message with me. After this he would hang up abruptly cutting me off.

Just today I got another call. He asked for the same family member (who happened to be out of the house at the time). He was much more polite this time and said that he could speak to her or her spouse. I got his name: Max Smart, and his phone number: 1-888-471-7325.

Collection Agency

they called my house and no one was on the phone either but the phone said allied interstate. My family got this number to our home in April and ever since then we've gotten tons of phone calls for other people and tons of collection calls for one person. How many times can you tell them that this isn't her number.

No one there.

We received a call from (213) 232-2316, "allied Interste" on the caller ID.  I answered it, no one there, then a robot voice came on and told me this was a test message.  My wife immediately called the number back and someone asked if my ex-wife (by name) was there.  She and I have been divorced for 24 years!  She's remarried since, as have I, so there should be no connection to the phone number or to my credit record.

This number calls daily.  I never answer.  Called it back today and got a woman who identified the company so rapidly I did not catch name.  She would absolutely not repeat it.  Things got pretty ugly pretty fast.  

Best part - I found out if I do not hang up it ties up their line for about 10 mins during which time she will carry on something awful about how I needed to hang up the phone.

I called my phone provider & they verified that its allied interstate which is a debt collection agency.  I have gotten calls from collection agencies before for relatives of mine & now this # is calling so I assume its the same thing.  I put a call blocker on my phone (by calling my phone service provider) and so Im just blocking the number. My phone wont even ring when they call & they will hear a message saying I do not accept calls from that number.  Hope that helps!

This number kept calling me and waiting for my voice message, then hanging up. I answered it once and it was a recording. So I hung up. Now i have it saved in my phone as "recored mess. hang up" with a specific ring. so now i know it's that number and I usually answer it right away and hang up at the same speed. It seemed to slow them down, now they only call once a month.

received a call 8-6-08 from 213-232-2316 asking for my husbands ex wife and by her maiden name at that.  She has been married twice since maiden name.    I told them that this was my husbands ex that they had the wrong number.  Then they had the nerve to ask me how to get a hold of her.  I told them to find out for themselves and then I went off on them.  Caller had the nerve to tell me to calm down.  I owe them nothing and will talk  to them any way I want to.  From now on when they call or ask how to get a hold of her I will start playing games with them, I get bored with these type of people and like to waste their time, like they do mine.

I went online to try and figure out who this moron from Los Angeles was calling me about. Thank God I never picked up the phone and did my home work!! I can't beleive the nerve of some people to try and rip me off!!!

They have called me repeatedly - once they hung up when I answered, and once they asked for someone by name and I said there was no one here by that name so they hung up. I no longer answer their calls.  The caller ID shows Allied Interste

my mom got a phone call from the number 213-232-2316 and thought it was my sister groaning and that she could be in trouble.I did some research and found out through here it's a common debt collector who calls her on a regular basis who is also aware that my mom is terminally ill with brain cancer is there anything i can do about this?

They asked for my BG and even didnt have his name right !! I said is this a ZOMBIE debt? He said I cant say, well it is and its against the law to call MY number and its also against the law to try to enforce these debts over 7 years old in Calif!

They called and the caller id said "unknown". I checked the message and it read back "213-232-2316". They didn't leave a voice mail but someone was on the line for 30 seconds...I could hear them breathing. Strange.

I check the computer before I answer calls I don't recognize. If friends and family call with a calling card they're out of luck. I have a fax machine that I set, I have to answer before or on the 4th rings. After the phone rings the 5th time the fax machine answer and starts beeping in their ear. When I do this it doesn't take long and they stop calling. My kids get upset with me if don't make it to the phone and the fax machine answers. Most of the time I leave it unplugged and plug it in when I get one of these calls. If the phone is answered (by me or the fax) they have to pay for a phone call. So let them pay. My fax also prints out a caller ID List. This could come in handy if I wanted to report them. Think about getting one, they're not that expensive these days.

That is Allied Interstate.  They are a debt collection agency that have information all over the net about them harrassing people at odd hours, calling the wrong people who don't even owe the debt, and threatening or cussing them.  They buy old debt that in most cases isn't even owed, and they fish for info when they call you trying to find out your name, etc. to get to or even find out who owes this debt.

Just got call from these people. Told them to send me paperwork verifying who they are. They just want to keep talking not letting me talk. SaidmI owe a MAstercard bill from 2000. Told them I would check out their company and call them back. Before I could call them back they called me. So I told them again, I would check them out first.

I have gotten several calls from this number just recently. I too hung up on the automated message and then googled the number to find this string.  I'll be hanging up on Allied Interstate from now on. Thanks to all for the info!

These people have been calling for months at all times of the day. There is never anyone on the line, but a recorded message tells us to call them back at a long distance number regarding an unpaid debt. We have never had any unpaid debts.

This is a scavenger bill collection agency, trying to make money on someone elses loss.

I just started to record call dates and times from what caller id says is "Allied Interste."  They call every day at least once from different numbers.  So far they have used:

they call and leave no message.  I never answer calls from unknown numbers. I have made a formal complaint with the National Do Not Call List. Only once they have left a message saying they are trying to collect a debt.  I have clean credit and owe no money.  These people should be shot for harrassing people over the phone.

Allied Interstate called my business phone and left a message on the answering machine that prompted a customer to assume I was a deadbeat. They walked out the door and I am out of a 26K sale. I called back and Allied agreed they had the wrong party and would remove my number from their list. Since then I have received an additional 18 calls on the bus.# and 12 on my home #. They must be counting on us to just ignore the harrassment and not answer. wrong

just ask "who's calling?" they will hang up!!!

I received a call on more than one occasion, 6 times in the past 2 days. When the call is initiated, I wait and an answering service tells me to keep holding. There is no reason why they are calling me. I get a long distance charge and waste my time.  Not happy! I called from another phone to have them take my number off their calling list and again my time is wasted. They are still calling and now I just ignore it.

They just called and there was just a message playing a Eurithmics song.

The phone rings once and no one is on the line. They call 3 or 4 times a day starting at 7am

They call my cell phone every month asking for a Linda Young.  I'm not Linda, but they run my cell phone minutes up.  I've called back but they just make you hang there....
FCC should find out who is doing this & press some charges against them
