My co-worker got a call and they wanted her to press #1 which she did not. We wondered who was calling. Looks like it was Southern California?
Cassandra 2011-06-06 20:53:00 Unknown
I called this number after missing a call from it on my cell. There wasn['t even a ring tone when the call connected, just music. Then some lady with a southern accent started on about how I won travel dollars and all you have to give is your credit card number and be 23 yrs or older to qualify. Sounds kinda like a scam.
punam 2011-06-06 20:53:00 Unknown
did not answer it
jan 2011-06-06 20:53:00 Unknown
it's ok to phone them back, just don't give a credit card number, it's fun to get really mad at them and demand things, a good waste of time but a riot.
AnM 2011-06-06 20:53:00 Unknown
I missed the call, called back got music, strange but true, of course it's telemarketers. Don't give out any personal inofrmation people!
Paulie 2011-06-06 20:53:00 Unknown
It's a scam for 2600 travel dollars to Cancun, but they want your credit card first

I received a call today from this number as well. I called back from my landline because I NEVER answer these calls on my cellphone. I got the same thing...all I heard was music but I pressed numbers and got an operator. They are someone sort of Survery company working for a resort in San Diego. I asked the woman how they would have gotten my cell number and she said you or someone you know would have left it at one of kiosks thru north america. I said never give my cell number out for anything and I doubt anyone I know would either. the call is for a vacation to a resort in San Diego using vouchers. They ask if you are 23 yrs. or older and if you have a major credit card to check into the resort which I said I did not have one. Sounds a little scammish to me.
Now I am going to register my cell number on the DNC list because I am getting telemarketers like crazy on my cell phone.

I got a call from it as well . But I seem to be the only one from the west coast. I am in Vancouver bc. hmmm very odd
Mark 2009-03-03 00:49:04 Unknown
I never ever answer phone calls from numbers that I don't recognize. After ignoring the call, I look it up on the internet. If legit, I call them back. If not, well this is the first time that I ever got sent to this site.

I just got that call (in Waterloo, Ontario, near Toronto) and did a reverse search
(619) 413-4540
Type: Land Line
Provider: 01 Communications
Location: Jacumba, CA
Due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider.
Type: Land Line Provider: 01 CommunicationsLocation: Jacumba, CA
The phone number is listed as unpublished-. 01 Communications is an internet company in Montreal Canada.
My best guess is that it's a telemarketing company using 01 Communications' internet lines (as do many companies) to find out what are active phone numbers and which aren't.By answering, we probably tell their computer it's a working line. If my theory is right, their computer just dials sequential numbers and sorts out the working ones. Mine's a cell phone so I seldom get calls from people I don't know.

Got the same call just a few minutes ago, didn't recognize the number, hung up after I heard the "please press 1", googled the phone number, glad I didn't press 1.

Here is something that I have just discovered about how these companies MAY get some of their phone numbers. ESPECIALLY our cell phones, since I am not one to give out that info except for specific reasons.
While reading another search; I discovered that these companies have access to & got my phone numbers from my resume posted off of the internet!
Be careful when you can.
Darcie 2009-02-14 23:08:41 Unknown
When I saw the display on the phone, I figured it was a telemarket call of some sort. So--when I picked up the receiver, I did not SAY anything--basically to find out what would happen.
There was no greeting or any recorded greeting--only that HORRIBLE MUZAK tune playing. But the most disturbing thing is that not only did they know my land line # but also have my cell phone # to boot. WTF?
So, I decided to force them to stay on the line & teach a lesson. So, I placed my phone in front of my stereo speaker & played FULL BLAST the raunchiest music I own (thrash, death metal). Just an idea for all of you as frustrated as I am!!

Paul J 2009-02-03 00:43:53 Unknown
Congratulations, your phone number has been selected!

Jacumba California, definitely a scam
logan 2009-01-31 23:32:40 Unknown
Me too, also receive this call, call back just music
JDS 2009-01-15 20:32:03 Telemarketer
I am from Vancouver. I called back & there was music, then a woman came on asking if I would like to know more about my Cancun resort vacation.
I guess the way telemarketers can get around the no-call list is by annoying people in other countries.
It is a California number, but with VOIP, it is easy to be in Canada & have a US phone number (see Vonage website).
bcguy 2009-01-15 20:29:04 Unknown
