I just cancelled my subscription to the LA Times and got a call from this number.

Got 2 calls from this number today:
4:49pm  then later at 6:23pm

No voice messages.

I started a subscription with the LA Times a few months ago. When they paper wasn't being delivered, I called to cancel. I was on the phone for about 20 minutes while they pleaded with me to stay with them.
I didn't.

I subscribed to the LA Times again, this time about a week ago. On the second day of my subscription, they delivered the wrong paper. So, I spent another 20 minutes on the phone while they pleaded with me to remain as a subscriber.
I didn't.

Now they're calling me.

OMG how annoying is this.  They are calling constantly and not leaving a message.  We recently (within past 2 weeks) started a low-cost trial subscription so they're probably calling to sell us more.

No voicemail was left.

What the heck is the LA Times verifying?..enough with the constant calls trying to get me to switch over to everyday delivery!!!

I love the L. A. Times newspaper, but their customer service for subscribers is beyond awful.  When I lived in east San Diego County, my Times I bought from newsstands there always offered great rates on home delivery.  I called and ordered home delivery SIX times over three years.  All six times I was assured by the operator that "Yes, we can deliver to that address and zip code."

I never got one paper delivered, despite six tries.  The only good news is I got six refunds, but it should never have come to that.

this number called me 4 times and the last time asked what color underwear i was wearing and hung up. I truly hope this isnt the LA Times...

have gotten a series of calls from this number over the past few days; no voicemail. I am signed up for the Sunday LA Times as well; not sure what they want, other than renewal?

I've had two calls from there, yesterday and today. Ignored both. No vm.

I called the number back and it says L.A. Times.

It is the LA Times calling! They started a new subscription with me for Thurs - Sun and they already missed the first day Thursday.  I called them back and told them to call me about the missing paper or refund my money.  I never should have started the subscription with them again.

They are calling me constantly, too. I also just signed up for the Sunday only paper.
I'm guessing they have an automated call system that will just keep calling until they get an answer.

They keep calling - it's the LA Times. I stopped delivery of 'Sunday only' paper because it was NEVER delivered and now they want me to sign up again.

Never once at all signed up for any subscription yet they some how have my number and have been calling it constantly.

Thanks for the info. I recently subscribed and canceled my LAT subscription because my Sunday edition failed to arrive for the first two weeks. I called to cancel, which was a chore in itself.

Yeah you guys are right. I got a missed call without a message. I tried calling the number back and it was the Los Angeles Times. It's weird cause I am not even subscribed to them..

You're spot on. I just subscribed to the LA Time on 8/07/10 & just received 2 calls on my voice mail & no message was left.  This number came up: 213-237-717.  So, I think you hit the nail on the head. Thank you. Enigma

It's the Los Angeles Times.  I'm guessing  you just signed up for a subscription? I've been called at least once a day since.  I haven't answered, so not sure if it's a real person trying  up-sell a subscription or just some automated survey.
