For over a year, I have been harassed with phone calls for a Natasha Latchett. I don't know her and she doesn't know me. My phone is a buy minutes phone that I have had for several years now. I have gotten recordings, text messages, and voice mails. Each one costs me money. I have called back and told them to stop calling me. They keep calling and then pass my number on to another to call. I got a lot of recordings from Red Johnson, but when I call and ask for him, he is not in. I did some research and found this woman that they are looking for. She is a criminal and there was an article in the paper about her getting arrested. I told them to call the police department and ask them how to get in touch with her. Calls stopped for a few months, but started up again today. Now they are saying that they are from a criminal division, but I think it is the same people after reading some of the other comments. One more call and I am contacting the attorney general.

Received more than one call from Legal Process Server, in reference to a family member.  A Female who did not give her name stated that the number was give as a contact number, which not true faced on the fact we no longer live in North Carolina.  Requested that they remove my name, number and not to call here anymore or it would be taken as a form of telefonic harasment and would be turn over to the State of South Carolina for legal action.  This makes the third call I have received and each time I have ask to be removed.  What ever they want or are looking for isn't my concern!

These people are ridiculous.  They keep calling for someone who has NEVER lived in my home.  Granted I am related to the person, but I've told this company the person lives over 100 miles away and I do not know anything about the person's business.

A few months ago someone called from a blocked number saying that they were with Civil Procedures Division, and that they have been trying to serve me legal papers. The "server" gave me a telephone number to call. I called the number and they tried to get me to pay money for an unpaid balance from a Check & Go account, I have never, ever been there. They continued to try to scare me into paying something, but I told them to serve me and I would get a lawyer. Needless to say they did not call me back about that . It is totally a scam. However I now look up all numbers that come to my phone and now they are calling from different locations, even local numbers here in Houston.

These people have been calling my father for several months. They say he is listed as a responsible party for a debt by a person we never heard of. My dad is 85 and cares for my Mom who has Alzheimer's.A few months ago I was able to call back and explain that we don't know the person. Fortunately both my brother and I are in law enforcement and we can assure my Dad he is not in Trouble. We have contacted the state attorney general, consumer protection with no help. Ironically there are laws in this state that would prevent the calls if he really did owe money

They keep asking for a different person stating that he has an important package being delivered tomorrow.......for the past 2 weeks. Every single time I tell them that he is not at this number and to remove my number, they hang up!!!!!!!!!!!

same issue. Asking to speak with someone that doesn't even have my number. Where they got my number who knows. They keep saying they are gonna serve civil papers tomorrow. Well tomorrow must last a long time because these idiots have been calling for months now and can't seem to grasp the fact that we know what's up and that this is all a scam. If indeed what they are saying is true I am definetly sure that law enforcement could locate me IF on fact I did owe some money. It's all a scam please don't let anyone fall for it. These lazy ------- just looking to see where they can get free money. Maybe they should get a real job!

There is no letter ent to your house if there were one a note would be left at your door. Also it should be mailed to you signed. If they can't do that they are nothing more than a fraud. They are a group of people who use skype to call you. If you call back and they dont answer than it's pretty much a fraud.

Bruce Willis was calling for a friend of mine and I told him he need to stop calling me and wasting my minutes. he told me if I can leave a message for him. I told him I dont care and he need to call him or mail him a letter. He say that I need to give him the message and I say Look, Look. After that he hung up like a little sissy boy and so unprofessional.

They are a group who do not have the decency to answer your questions or to have a phone number that they will answer. Maybe someday one will show up at my home ! They are a typical group of cowards who use the phone to hide behind. Phone number they call from 213-260-9423.

Yep, I got the same old crap.....going to be coming out to serve me legal papers for some made up file #.  I was at work and at the time could not answer.  I tried to call back so I could mess with them....rang and rang and rang.  No voicemail, nothing.  I'm hoping I'm not on the phone next time they call!!  We ARE going to have a conversation and NOT one they want to hear!!!!  These people do not scare me!!!  I can't WAIT to hear back from them!!!

Get these calls all the time they were calling my job my house and my cell,threatning they were goin to serve me papers so the last call i answerd and i told the lady off quite decent !! I told nobody tells you their goin to serve u papers they just show up and give them to you,then i told her, I hope she the phone delivering the phony documents so i could really give her the business. Bottom line they are full of s***!!

. The police said not to give info out and check with about warrants or the court magister office  to see . IF THE PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLING READING THIS YOU WILL BE CAUGHT.

Got another call today from "Ron Johnson"  this time from Los Angeles.  Previously, the calls came from Houston.  They stopped for a while after I told them we had 24 video surveillance on our property and no one came to serve anything.  So today, I recognized his name and voice.  After the garbage of him giving me a case number and phone number to call, I asked him "so, you moved from Houston?".  He hung up.  When I tried to call the number he gave me to call, I go no answer.  It pisses me off.

I have been getting calls like this for almost a year. I block all the numbers. I talked to my local police and one of them told me to mess with them. Like give them a bogus card number or an old gift card just to piss them off and have a good laugh. Because my state attorney or the FTC dose nothing.

they keep calling me asking for a person that I use to know over 5 years ago.  I tell them that I have no contact or knowledge of this person.  I ask that my number be removed.  they keep calling.  I asked to speak with a supervisor they hang up.  I call the number back, no answer.  how can I get this to stop!  

said an officer was out to deliver me papers and hung up when i said i would call the sheriff and go get them.

We get calls from this number frequently. I usually don't answer, but today I did. The caller fast talked through the "company" he was representing and asked for a person who does not live here and never has. I told him that and he asked did I know this person. I told him I have met her, so he asked when was the last time I had seen her. I told him it had been quite some time so he told me she had given this number as a contact number and asked if I had a better number for her. I told him no, so he asked if I could take a message. I told him no, so he said, "We will keep calling your number until she contacts our office to give us a better number!"  I have asked numerous times that my number be removed from these bogus lists. Why do I have to be harassed because someone gave out my number years ago! There needs to be a "please remove my number from your calling list" form I could fill out.

Got call this day, same scam. Told the POS come on down to serve your papers, we have a surprise for you. We'll see if they try.

Just got a call..  the girl used the same line we have legal docs and it's "illegal for us to open them for you."  she tried talking over me but this is how the conversation went.  
Me:  what's your first and last name.
Girl:  Shari
Me:  Shari, what is the company name you work for?
Shari:  Civil procedures division.
Me:  The company name is civil procedures division??
Shari:  Yes
Me:  What is the best number to reach you at?
Shari:  877........
Me:  877,  shari  (dial tone)

I guess they hang up when you fire questions back at them.


Just be smart guys.  Get everything in writing.

Took out payday loans about 7 years ago. Paid most of them back. Was young, didn't realize what I was getting into, and have spent thousands over the last several years cleaning up my credit. The first couple of these types of calls seemed legit from my old debts. The people were nice, had my info, etc. I paid a few off. Then, the calls kept coming, and became more threatening. Even went so far as threatening jail time, revoking my drivers license, etc. That's what tipped me off. I have cancelled cards and payment plans, and nothing has happened. It seemed odd to me that as soon as one called, more showed up within a few days. I started googling and figured out I'd been scammed. It's easy to figure out if you don't have outstanding debts, but I wanted to post for the people that do. A real collection agency will send you documentation of your debts, a settlement agreement, etc. the fastest way to figure them out is to tell them you are recording the call. Ask for a copy of their business license to be faxed. They will either hang up right then and there, or get really threatening. They will threaten that court costs much more, the state always sides with them, etc. if this was really the case, they wouldn't bother to call, they'd just send a sherif to serve you. Please learn from my mistakes!!

I too have been told someone will be out tomorrow to deliver legal papers.  I'll be waiting, since I work at home, but something tells me they won't be showing up anytime in this lifetime nor the next.

So, this "Bruce Williams" guy has called a few times now, once before from this same number and previously from a Dallas TX number.

We have been getting calls on and off from the "Civil Procedures Division" for a few months now. All kinds of voices but always the same script. "Someone will be out to serve legal documents blah blah blah..." and they ask for the same name of a person I have never heard of.

I used to tell them this at first, knowing it was a scam, but the calls kept coming in thick and fast that I started reporting everyone to the FTC, Attorney General, Do Not Call list....ANYONE I can! I used to warn them that I knew it was a scam and that I HAVE reported them and usually this was enough to make them hang up on me and stop the calls for a week or 2. I have no idea if any of these agencies I have reported them to will do anything (I assume that they are doing nothing about it....but you gotta try!) and at least the calls have seriously dropped. Used to be daily, now it is not even once a week.....still not good, but at least it is something.

As I said earlier, this Bruce dude (if anyone wants to compare voices to names, mine sounds like a young(ish) black man) has called a few times now. The previous call I got a little bit irritated and told him that I knew it was a scam and that I had reported them and that they need to stop calling. He got pretty darn snarky back to me....started going on about how it wasn't a scam and that I was the scammer for taking out loans for furniture that I didn't pay...all of this ridiculous.....yeah, it all keeps getting stranger.

THIS time when he called, I took a different tact: be friendly! I said, "Hi Bruce! We spoke last week! You were very rude to me." He said: "Oh no sir, that couldn't have been me!" I told him that it certainly was and that the person they claim to be looking for still didn't live here and that I had still reported them and that I really didn't appreciate the calls. He got more than a little weird at this point and said, "Oh sir, I must apologize. I know that I ain't no angel but I think I am a good man and I hope that you can find it in your heart to show me forgiveness. And with God almighty as my witness I promise you that I did not intend any upset and I will go right ahead and add you to our Do Not Call list." Huh....OK. I kept up the polite act and thanked him. He wished me a nice day and we hung up.

These people are insane. The whole internet seems to have received a call from these people, always with the same script and always completely wrong. We all KNOW it is a scam. But still they call. I guess enough people ARE falling for it and making some kind of payment over the phone, as some other posters have reported that these people have requested. The time and resources that they are putting into this is incredible. Part of me actually thinks that the callers think that they are in a real job with a real company (job postings advertized on a lamp post near you)....it still doesn't make the calls right....but with all these calls and different people I have spoken with and all the reports I have read, looking into these people has become a sick hobby! It is amazing! They have hit up the whole country, it seems, and SURELY they are being investigated.....they HAVE to be! It is all too much now!

But the biggest part of me thinks that NO ONE is investigating them. And that is a shame. I mean, all of the humor that I find in it all (now) aside, these people ARE crooks. Pure and simple. They are awful people who take advantage of desperate people in uncertain times. They lie and intimidate and while I am fine to laugh at them or tell them where to go, many people are not. Many people must be signing away their money hoping to make the calls stop, or through fear that MAYBE some relative of theirs is in some kind of financial trouble. And for these reasons they really NEED to be stopped. There needs to be an easier way to stop these calls from coming through to our home phone without having to pay for a call blocker or for an extra service from our phone company.

So, all humor aside (not to mention my burgeoning relationship with "Bruce Williams"), people out there need to be smart and brave and proactive. Do NOT give them any information. They are liars and crooks, not legitimate companies. They are NOT serving documents. They can NOT take a legitimate payment for any loans you may have. And they certainly can NOT send the police around to arrest you. They simply cannot do any of these things. Tell them that you know it is a scam. Tell them that you are reporting them and tell them to not call again. If you do not feel confident enough to do this, then simply hang up. But you need to follow up with a report to the FTC and, most importantly, the Attorney General. Also, if you feel intimidated, report them to the cops! The sheriff, the FBI, ANYONE who has the authority to look into this. Afterall, it is intimidation and harassment, simple as that.

So please, be smart, be brave and report. Nothing might come of reporting, but it MIGHT have some positive effect...sooner or later, with enough complaints from all of us, someone will HAVE to look into this. Please don't be apathetic about it. We need to show that we are not stupid or lazy.

And if Bruce calls you again, tell him HI from me!
