I am getting multiple calls daily from this #.  As above, they ask for a name I've never heard of.  I have never had any loan, let a lone student loan.  I need to know how to get rid of them without giving them a lot of personal id.

This is Citibank student loan office they called three times and didn't even leave one message as to why they are calling. When I called back they couldn't say why they never left a message. They where looking for a payment. However I am still enrolled with my school, Walden University. Based on the research I did, according to the Fair Credit Act they can only call once per seven business days. They are also suppose to defer my loans while I am in school, taking classes or not. I am enrolled in this school.

This number called last week, leaving a message identifying themselves as "Citibank Student Loans" and saying that 'this was not a sales call' and to call regarding important information.

No one in this house or at this number has ever taken out a student loan, and we've had this number 20 years.

Since then, they have called back multiple times with no message.

According to this dialogue the persons at this number are representatives of Citibank Student Loans. I don't have any student loans so they shouldn't be calling me and hanging up when I answer

I called to make a payment and they told me I HAD to make 2 otherwise they were going to charge of $12,000 to my credit. I am a part time working single mom and I tried to set up payments and put the last one in forbearance to save me from getting a late fee. They told me since they were private lenders they wouldn't help me. As of Dec 31st I was told it was charged off and placed with collections HOWEVER they are now calling me every day 56 times to set up payment arrangements that were 100% unavailable to me 30 days ago. I owe $145,000 in student loans and all of them are federal except for 12,000 from citibank...charge it off your never getting it.

I received a call from this number. Called it back and a lady answered. Sounded like she was in her basement and there was no automated voice prompts just right to pick-up. She said she was with Citi Student loans and asked for my social. I said no thanks and called Citi directly at 1-800-967-2400. They said they wouldnt ask for full social security number and the number was possible a scammer.

I call shenanigans on this number. I just received a call and a voicemail stating they were Citibank Student Loan dept and to call them back at 888-926-8091. Firstly, my student loan that used to be serviced by Citibank is now serviced by Discover and has been for many months. There's no reason why Citibank would be calling me. Secondly, I am current on my loan and my next payment isn't even due for another week. Thirdly, a Google search for the return number 888-926-8091 shows that this number has been used by scammers. So I don't think this is actually Citibank Student Loans, at least not anymore. Don't call back this number or the number that they give you...call the number on your student loan bill and ask your student loan company directly if they have been trying to contact you. If it's a legitimate call, it should be on record or at least they can tell if something's up with your account.

This happens to me as well! I get 4+ calls from them a day. Usually I just deny them because whenever I pick up, they hang up.

I called back yesterday and it is indeed Citibank Student Loans. I asked if the girl could tell me why I am getting these calls and the first thing she said is "Yes. What is your social security number?" I told her nevermind. Sketched me out a little.

Three calls in the past six hours. Isn't that illegal? I'm current on my student loan, so there is no reason for a call from them...never mind THREE calls from them.

This could very we be a Citibank number. But there is nobody in my home that has a Citibank Student loan what so ever. They do have Citibank credit cards, but no loans for a fact. They have called my home, but they usually show up on the caller ID as Citibank. But this number only showed up on the caller ID as Toll Free Number.

have been receiving numerous calls over the last few days from this number staraing @8:00am.  I had enough this morning so I called back.  Lady said it was citibank regarding my student loan.  I do not now or in the past have a student loan.  I have had the same cell #for atleast 5 years.  She said the only way she could check about the loan was to have my SS#  I did not give it to her, she took my phone# and said she would take it off the call list, however it could take 24 hrs.  I am a little concerned that someone may have taken out a loan using my SS# but it does not show on my recent credit reports.

As promised in my last post when this number called me I said the number will go on Digitone Call Blocker and PhoneTray Free. So, Bozo called today and my phone never rang.  A moment later my Call Blocker kicked the caller off line.  I have 888,877,866 and 855 blocked and so doing cut down on a lot of Bozo's calling and calling again.

What was cool was that Caller ID also shows up on my TV screen when someone rings my phone... or trys to.

My technology to block Bozo's overwhelms Bozo caller's.  So I'm very happy with my system of blocking unwanted phone calls.  Poor devil named ' sunday caller ' posting on this page could use some technology himself.

I agree... it must be Citibank.  If you are ONE day late they will call.  Really!!!  We pay our loan faithfully even in these hard economic times and yet if you are ONE day late, they will call.   So much for having a grace period any more.

It's the Citibank Student loans automated line looking for payment, but...

As I had the system explained to me, CSL operates two seperate systems that don't really compliment each other. See, it takes usually 3 business days for your payment to deduct. Well, unless you pay three business days in advance, this stupid system starts blitzing you up to 5 or 6 times a day, even though you ALREADY submitted your payment. Their system is too stupid to see the pending payment that Citibank is too lazy to process so they blow up your phone in the meantime. I had one of their people tell me I should just answer and it will stop once it makes contact. I was thisclose to telling him I work in IT and I've never heard of such a POORLY designed setup and that I don't appreciate my phone going berserk when I submitted my payment to deduct on the day it was due. It's harassment is what it is. They try to harass you into paying your bill before its even due. Morons.

This number is Citibank Student Loans usually calling when you are late with a student loan payment. They will typically start calling within 5 days of a missed payment due date. If you have a guarantor on your loan (i.e. your parents) the guarantor will start getting calls too if they don't get an answer from you within the first few days of calling.

If you make a payment online they will NOT stop calling until the payment actually posts to your account, which can take several days after you do it online. If you do make a payment online, you can either ignore the calls or just tell them you made the payment and give them the confirmation number you got online after making the payment. They will typically want a reason why you missed the payment and ask if your current due date is still ok and will offer to change it if you want.

I just paid them today and wish that their computer systems would update - I just pick it up and hang up the phone as they never listen when you tell them you just paid.
