I received a robocall from a survey company which offered a free gift for answering a few questions.  There were 6-8 yes/no questions, then robocaller stated someone would be calling within the hour to inform me about the free gift.  The caller who then called back 15 minutes later stated I qualified for vacation stays in Orlando (4 days), Daytona (3 days) and the Bahamas (4 days) at their resort - the only criteria was that my husband and I would need to hear a 1.5 hr promotional talk regarding the resort.  When informed my husband does not like to vacation in more than one place at a time, I was transferred to a supervisor (Brandy) who then tried to offer me just one week in the Bahamas.  All I would have to pay was $249/person. When I asked the name of the company I was told IIG  (International Interactive Group). I said I did not think this was anything I really wanted to do; she continued to try and entice me by stating only I, not my husband or others in the group, would have to pay the $249.  She also gave me 1.5 yrs to make the trip rather than the usual one.  I told Brandy I looked up IIG on the internet and the BBB gave it a "C" rating.  She claimed Wal-Mart has an "F" rating, so "C" is good and the complaints listed were generally related to dissatisfied customers who did not realize they had to pay their own airfare.  She continued to pressure me to sign up, but the President of this company, Kiet Luu, does not seem to have a good reputation as per my internet search, so I declined and told Brandy I was hanging up.  Caveat emptor.  It will be interesting to see if IIG tries to plant positive feedback on the web now.

I went for a job interview at a company called International Interactive Group. The only sign oon the dorr was IIT, which they claimed was was Travel ITT.. I thought this must be a company trying to hide something. I was going to walk out when I decided to stay. See, I am unemployed and have too much free time. I was interviewed by a lady that seemed to know next to nothing about this company. She did have information on the job. She said what they do is they call back the people they are interested in, and the applicants come in THAT SAME day to start training.  What a waste of time and travel.

Then a week later I got a phone call from 213-379-1044 and A man named Jeff (no Last name) wanted to set me up for an interview. He told me they "hook up" student with colleges they want to go enter. i am sure it is those Technical, smaller, not accredited by the state or one line colleges. I declined the interview.

Caller left a message. She was rude and said my home phone number on my career builder profile was wrong and that I should fix it. I feel this is a scam I am not sure. It seems everyone here got the same number calling them about credit card rate reduction but she's talking about my job profile. Weird and I am tired of people like this getting away with harassing people on the phone. If you knock on peoples doors and spoke to them that way they can be arrested for harassing, why cant they the callers? 213-321-6218

This is an addendum to my post from a few minutes ago.
The caller claimed to be from Florida, even though the area code in the caller ID is for Los Angeles.  I remember him saying "I'm Mumble Mumble [male-sounding first name] from Mumble Mumble Company here in Florida and this is a courtesy call for Mumble Mumble [female-sounding name]. . . "
I'm pretty sure the Company name was not "Card Services" or one of the variations your previous posters have mentioned.
Someone identifying themselves as Card Services calls my home number about three times a week, but the number changes every two weeks or so.

Caller ID on my cell phone displayed: 213-321-6218
Caller did not identify himself but asked how I was.
I replied "Who are you and what are you selling and why are you calling my cell phone?"
Caller claimed he didn't know it was a cell phone (may be true if they were robo-dialing, but still ilegal), identified a company name and claimed he was looking for a female name.  Both the company name and the female name were slurred over so I couldn't really understand, nor can I remember now.
Told him this number had been on Nationwide Do Not Call List since 2005 and hung up.

I must be on some list! I am getting calls from all of these scam artists. I always google strange numbers and my question is this...What can we do to stopo this nightmare? We need to protect thjose who aren't aware of these low lifes!

Here is what I want you to do and tell others...Get the loudest alarm or whistle and if you know that you are being berated or scamed, send the loudest noise you can  straight into their ear! It works!

Your thoughts?

Got a call from a gentleman from this number asking if I was "Melody" (my wife's name).  I said no and he promptly hung up.  I tried to call the number back and got a message stating this number could not receive incoming calls.

A message comes on when you are called from this number 1-729-000-6937 saying to press the number 1 to speak to an operator about lowering the interest rates on your credit cards.  This is the last chance to do this so I better act now.  So, I pressed 1, I wanted to see what it was about because I had just called Chase to lower my credit card and they said they were not lowering rates for anyone at this time.  As soon as I pressed the #1 a girl came on.  She told me she was with Credit Card Services, asked me about how much I owe in cc debt and told me they can lower all my credit cards interest rates to as low as 6.99%.  She then said she needed to verify my account through an automated line and I need to give her the 800 number on the back of my credit card to do this while she is on the line.  I told her I don't have my card will a statement do?  She then asked you don't have the card right now or not at all?  I said not at all, she then just hung up on me.  SCAMMERS!!!!!

A male called my home from 213-321-6218 asking for my elderly mother by name. When I questioned who he was and who he worked for he would only say she had ordered vacation(s) and he needed to speak to her. I told him in was incorrect and my mother had not ordered any such thing. The guy was obviously and lying crook and would NOT give me any info. I just worry he is attempting to scam senior citizens. Always beware folks.

They call everyday and this time I answered.  Could barely here Eric so I had him call me back on a different number.  Eric did not call back.  William did.  Refuse to give last name, contact number or ID.  Sounded nice but when I began asking questions, he refuse to answer any.  He said the financial rep will go over all of that with me but he must first qualify me by getting one of my card numbers first to make sure it is in good standing before I could talk to financial rep. When I asked for company name the said Card services.  I asked for number he said he could not get inbound calls.  When I asked how to reach company, he put me on hold and gave me 866-423-9474.  Then I put him on hold and dialed the number.  It is not in service.  I told him number not in service he said hold on let me make sure I gave you the right number and he hung up.

The first call came from 386-761-4356. I always tell them that I am going to sue, etc., and then I hang up. As soon as I hung up, the phone rang immediately with a different number (213-321-6218) and the same man was one the line. I repeated my statement about suing and hung up. He immediately called me back three times using the second number. The last time I let the phone ring and it rang about 15 or more times. So now they are going harass us for telling them to stop calling. This has gone way past ignoring them. They need to be prosecuted. I now feel threatened.

Received a call from this # stating they could lower interest rates on all of my credit cards as low as 6.9%. I asked numerous questions; this man stated they were NOT a consolidation company, that they were "Your Debt Solutions", when I asked him if this was the company he represented, he said he was "Card Services". He said they had the ability to negotiate these lower rates with 60+ other banks but "it would take too long to list them all".  I asked him for their phone #, he provided 1-800-642-4720 which links into the customer service line for credit cards with Wells Fargo. This guy knew certain credit cards I actually do have  and said he showed certain balances however those were incorrect. Apparently the "report" he was working off of showed balances most likely from a few months ago and also did not have my complete SSN so he was asking for the last 4 digits. I provided him with a different set of #s; he put me on hold and came back saying there was something wrong with my info.  After asking more questions, another man came on the phone to make sure everything was okay with the service I was provided.... I told them NO THANK YOU!!

NO LEGITIMATE COMPANIES WILL EVER CONTACT YOU LIKE THIS!!!!! DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION TO THEM!! If you still aren't sure, ask for their # and call them back. If they claim to be with a well known bank, call the toll free # on the back of your credit card or on your statement and verify the offer.

A message comes on when you are called from this number saying to stay on the line to speak to an operator about lowering the interest rates on your credit card. I stayed on the line just out of curiosity because I have been getting these calls and am sure they are an attempt to get me to give them my private info. A  man came on and I asked him which credit card he was calling about since he did not state what company he was representing. He said any of your Visa and Mastercards...I said "and you expect me to give you my credit card numbers? Obviously I am not going to do that and this call is obviously an attempt to get me to do so. I am not that stupid". The caller then began to berate me me calling me F...king this and that and also a Bi***. So then immediately after I hung up he called back from the 213-321-6218 number and I did not answer. He then left a long expletive ridden message ending with he hoped I would die.
So this is a very bad guy with bad intentions to get your info. He will probably prey on some poor people who will fall for it.
