have this number blocked but they still call 4-5 times a week

Called several times and I am on the Federal do not call list, how do these jerks get my number?

I got a call from this number also (from Los Angeles, Calif.), let the answering machine take the call, as with ALL unknown calls there is seldom a message to deliver, they want a live person to squeeze some $$ from, thank God for caller ID and answering machines.....  Don't let them get to you!

I keep getting calls from this number, sometimes it's private with no number, but when I pick it up and get a message it's the same guy saying "Is Joe there?" Joe is my son and he hasn't lived here since 2005.  I blocked anonymous calls and now I've blocked this number. This time I told the guy not to call - ever again and he said he will take my number off the list. I hope so.

This same guy calls from different numbers and asks for the preivous occupant of this house. Its dirving me crazy. Now i say, yeah, hang on and either leave the phone on the table or give it to my toddler - he loves talking on the fone, i tell him its elmo ...

I kept getting a call - I let all unknown callers go thru the message machine - from this number, where they would say, "Is Anna there?"  Since Anna is my deceased mother, I didn't answer.  They never said anything else - always the same question.  Finally, tonight I picked up the phone to tell them she died in 2007, and asked them who they are.  I know he heard me, but he ignored me and just hung up - so I tried to call the number back, just to discover to whom it belonged.  That didn't work - I got the recorded operator saying, "I'm sorry, your call didn't go thru.  Please hang up and try, again."  I got this recording repeatedly, even though I know it was the right number, as I dialed it from the caller ID.  I suspect at this point that the number is bogus.

PS  I appreciate this site.  It's so nasty, the many sites that want you to pay just to find out to whom a number belongs.  This is much better!

I got a couple of calls throughout the week but no one was on the line. This time they were there and said they were from the RNC and wanted to collect on some pledge I supposedly made on a date he couldn't tell me.  I told him that I made various donations directly throughout the campaign season, that I was unaware of any "pledge".  He kept swinging the conversation back around to trying to get me to pay over the phone and kept talking to where I couldn't get a word in ... he acted like a bill collector.  Aren't donations supposed to be voluntary?  Finally I stopped him and said that I was uncomfortable with the phone call and started asking more questions when he abruptly switched to an end of call script so I hung up before he could finish.  Can't help but think this was a big-time scam.
