I live in California and my daughter's elementary school uses this number to send out general announcements to parents about events and fundraisers.  Not sure why they had to go to NYC to find a company to do that!

I received 3 calls in a row from #(213)412-1170. One at 10:04am, another at 10:35am and another at 11:06am. No message was left on my voicemail. Of course, I was at work and unable to answer. I tried to call this number back on my break and it's disconnected. What the hay!

Your right, it is your childs elementary. My son goes to the same school and I just got a call with voicemail and it was his school too. Weird phone number though for it not being in our area.

Confoundingly - if I object to the school - the "malicious obedience" theory suggests that the school will then not call me IN EMERGENCIES.

Getting calls from 213-415-0018 every ten minutes for the last four hours. Of course, Teleparent Educational Systems is already closed for the day. There is no message, just dead silence. If this goes on all weekend they are going to get a real earful come Monday morning. This is absolutely inexcusable.

It's "Teleparent" from my kid's school, calling with important info about absences, tests, behavior, etc.  Automated, but useful.  Not a telemarketer.

Many school districts use this number for automated messages from the school about your childs attendance and grades.

Received a few calls from this number.  When i finally decided to pick up, it was a recording from a counselor out our local high school inviting parents to a parent night for sophomores & juniors regarding graduation requirements.  Also received a call from a similar # 213-415-0018 I assume regarding the same thing.

How funny... I just got a call from this number n its 5 in the damn morn'n they called my house n said nothing so i decided to look the # up n this is what i got. Nothing but comments about this number did i mention i live in san antonio now y would i get these calls. Hope thats the last time they call. I feel alot better knowing im not the only one that feels this way about these calls by this number.

This number is on my caller id, and i live in Michigan!  I do not know or are related to anyone in California, so hmmm.

Third phone Call I have received. This time they mention Washington Middle School. The first time was that this child (Steven) is failing a class. The second that he is in jeopardy of being kicked out of school. And the third that he had failed to turn in an assignment. Same phone number. Same scam. Hoping it stops!

The caller is a computerized phonebot for business. Like for conference calling. I don't know the origination commpany. Probably some big wig like Verizon. It calls to let me know my son is reported absent. Autumatically uploaded from the records input at the office. Someone is using your number at a school somewhere.the area code isn't local for me either but it is my son's school reporting to that server.

This number is hooked up with the Romulus school districts in Michigan it will call your home when a child is missing from school or when they are late for a class but it is now summer and not one of my kids are in school and the phone calls keep coming in for the last two days it's very annoying because by the time I get to it their gone and they call back in a half hour they star around 9am. The number sometimes will be different and they also use a Chicago based number to do the same.

JUST GOT 2 CALLS FROM #213-412-1170, ONE WAS NO MESSAGE AND THE OTHER LEFT A MESSAGE FROM MY G-DTR'S SCHOOL AND SAID THERE WAS A 'BINDER CHECK' IN ONE OF HER CLASSES.  SHE KNOWS OF THE BINDER CHECK TOMORROW 3/17/2010.  THE FIRST CALLS NUMBER JUST DISAPPEARED FROM MY CALLER I.D.  I LIVE IN WATERFORD, CALIFORNIA

Its the government calling, they are extracting your thoughts as you sit and drool.  Do not answer this number, do not talk into the phone if you cant help picking up, and what ever you do DO NOT SAY HELLO!!      Saying "Hello" will activate the extraction process and they can read all your thoughts when the program/devices translate your brainwaves into lines of text.  BEWARE THE NEW WORLD ORDER!

I found out who this is, for me at least. Somehow mine (and your?) numbers are in the Oak Mesa Elementary School calling system.

I emailed and got a quick response, and I was able to actually talk to the voice that has been calling me for the last 6 months... She was polite and assured me she will try to get my number out of their system. Will update later.

The reason I was able to find her, was she finally mentioned the name of the school in the announcement...
