A person giving this number called the place where I work and tried to buy things that I believe they were going to then ship out of the country. I don't want to give the information on the card, as they said it was stolen, but do not permit any sales over the phone or internet to an individual that gives this phone number.

I am an analyst, and it was clearly stated in my response to his ad for part-time office work. I would like to bring to your attention, as well, that this could possibly include drug smuggling and trafficking. Picking up mailed packages from the post office, having them delivered to your house, in any way signing for, accepting delivery of, or participating in the mailing of packages that contain drugs (and no, you don't need to "know" about them being there) is smuggling and trafficking. The money aspect of it i.e. paying "bills" and such, is laundering. Report it to the FBI, post it to FB so you can let everyone you care about know, and be sure to provide "full headers" when reporting to the FBI. "Full headers" allow you to pinpoint the exact location of where the email came from. Don't touch anything asking you to mail anything on their behalf, or make payments/transfer monies with a ten foot pole. You can, and possibly will, spend the rest of your life in jail for trafficking. It's no joke.

If you guys want to stop this file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I don't know what they can do but at the very least they can stop this guy--maybe even get lost monies back! Either way the more complaints they have about this guy the sooner he is shut down! I added the link below so its easier for everyone. On the right hand side of the web page it says click (here) to file your complaint. Put whatever information you have and the name he used on your post so they know all his aliases. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I fell for the scam and deposited the check and wired money out like a total idiot. Now I am out a lot of money and te bank is "verifying" the check. Now I know it won't go through. This man has no conscience. He is preying on people in this terrible economy that need the money. I can't believe I fell for this and I still don't have a job. The check won't clear until next week. Well, it probably won't clear. I don't know what to do. I wish I had researched this better.

Same here, just got the email from 'Evan Conor'

It sounded fishy to me to begin with. Who in their right mind would pay someone $1800 a month for 15 hours of work unless you are a doctor or lawyer or better. Im glad I googled his number and found this. It's horrible for anyone who has fallen for this scam. I just applied for what I thought was a legitimate job offer. Sad that people take advantage of others like this.

I was looking for a second job and got the SAME email except he said his name was Heath Jones..
I wish there was a way to monitor on Craigslist but there's not which sucks!!!! I'm glad that
I looked on here first but the fact he has my resume and my info on it blows!!!  People are actually looking for REAL jobs and these people have nothing better to do than to scam people.. I feel bad for anyone who already fell for this... always, ALWAYS do your research before accepting any job:)

What ever you do, report them. I work with Law Enforcement here in Texas and I've seen scams like this. Especially on Craigslist. Legally, nothing can be done about these people unless they are stateside. But what you can do, notify the local Secret Service branch in your city. Let them know what's going on. They will direct you to the appropriate section.
Thankful!!

Yep, same thing happened to me but I wanted to check it out and I did speak with him this morning. He said he had to receive an e-mail from me first stating that I received the check and then he would call me back. I sent an e-mail to him and started to google any information about this guy immediately and found this page. He is blowing up my phone now and I won't answer. I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who posted on here to inform other people of what is going on. This is actually the second time this happened to me. Last week, I received another check similar to an ad like this and took it to the bank for them to check and verify if it was any good along with printed e-mails from this prick. I also gave them the envelope from fed-ex that contained the check with the tracking number that was delivered to my door that morning. In the e-mail, he had listed the same exact tracking number, so I had all the proof I needed and everything matched up. I left all of this with the bank president so that he could report it and the scammer kept texting me to see if I had cashed the check. When he found out that the bank kept it, he left me alone. Word of advice, all of these checks are usually from credit unions. Best of luck to all and investigate any info and get it checked out from a bank first before you cash anything. That way, you are covering yourself from any future harm from these scam artist.

I don't know where all of you are, but I'm in Michigan and I received the same email to be this person's personal assistant...I was NOT impressed!!! So I Googled the number and found this!!! From now on, I will no longer send an address or phone number on my resume!!! Because all of my personal information is on my resume, this was my reply back!!!! This might not stop him from posting his false job ads, but maybe these steps will prevent someone else from falling prey to this scam!!!

Here was my reply to this jerk:

Dear Kevin Julian...or whoever you are!!!

Are you kidding me? What a crock!!! I looked up the given phone number on Google and I know EXACTLY what kind of a scam you're running, so I have forwarded this email to craigslist as well as many state and federal representatives and I will be forwarding this to our local television and radio stations and posting this on Facebook.

DO NOT attempt to contact me again, whether by phone, email or regular mail. If you do try to contact me again, or use any information in my resume, I WILL hunt you down and prosecute!!!! If you don't think I have the connections or knowledge to do so...try me!!!!

I checked on this number on the web and found it to be a big scam.  They say then will send you money up front to purchase things then give you their UPS account number to send the merchandise to them.  They send you a bad check, and you end up having ro reimburse the bank.  They say they are in Australia and will be back in the US in about a month.  They also ask that you pay bills for them after they send you a check for same.  Whoever actually ownes this number is pulling a big scam on a lot of people according to what I could find out on the web.

You fail to actually state what you've done in falling for the scam so I will assume the worst and that you've deposited his check into your account, withdrew cash and wired it to him. The bank holds you responsible for the cash you voluntarily withdrew from your account and this has to be paid back. What you should do immediately is call your bank and tell them the whole story. If you wait, your bank may think you are in cahoots with the scammer so you must call your bank PRONTO. You are way better off if you alert the bank instead of the bounced check alerting the bank. If you can't reach the bank on a Sunday, call your local police and report it. It's important to establish that you reported the crime once you found out a crime had occurred, i.e., that you are not hiding the crime. Ask your bank if they will let you borrow the money as a loan and you pay it back in monthly payments. Unfortunately, the FBI has stated that it will prosecute these crimes even though you were the unwitting victim of the scammer but all cases are unique and you may or may not end up in prosecution.
