these stupid phone calls????

Got a call from this number for some kind of healthcare product. I think this might be a wardialer looking for valid modem numbers, or some of type of enumeration approach, because when I attempted to speak to a person I only got a short period of silence and then some clicking noises. That would explain why they do not respect the Do Not Call List, and would explain why healthcare products are being sold out of a hotel, with no one on the other end of the phone. It's a simple way of illiciting a response from a 'live' number, as opposed to a machine, and either using the machines in a further attack, or selling the 'live' numbers to third parties with actual products. Just my thoughts.

Several calls, but never leave message.  I'm on Do not call list, but they call anyway.

They call our business fax line everynight around 6:00pm.  quite annoying. I have tried to call them back but no answer.

i got a phone call today no one was there this was the number that showed up on caller id i thought for a min maybe it was someone i knew but nope i seen this and it looks like these people like to do prank calls

Received automated message about healthcare product of some sort. Attempted to dial 1 to speak with someone - to directly remove myself from the 'list', but only got clicking noise.

Is it possible this is just a wardialer using a stupid script and audio file to determine 'live' numbers, as opposed to modems, or otherwise usual targets? 'Cause if it's an actual attempt to sell something, they're sucking a tail pipe at it.

They call and hang up once or twice a week either early in the morning or late at night. Bad business practices, seems if enough complaints are made they might be stopped. it is very annoying !

Thanks for the info.  I got one of these calls this morning early waking me up after 3 hous sleep.  GRRRR!!!  I was very concerned because my niece is on a trip in CA and I thought it might have been her in trouble.  She is supposed to be in San Francisco.  I became kind of worried when I tried to call this back and could get no one.  These jerks that are calling people like this can wreak havoc.  I too have been getting those calls for expired warranty on car for months.  I have no warranty so I just always hang up but this time it said on the caller id STH PK HTL.  These companies practice to deceive.

Tried calling number back, got a busy signal.  Like someone else mentioned, have previously been receiving nightly calls from Car Warranty division claiming our warranty is about to expire.

Selling health care programs, press 2 to be removed from list.

Appears on Caller ID as STH PRK HTL.  When I answer there is a clicking noise like it just hung up.  I am tired of this crap

Unidentified company attempting to deceive me into purchasing a car warranty by informing me that my current warrant has expired.

Repeated calls from this company, despite the fact that the automated message claims that "this is the final notice you will receive from us". All removal requests have been refused or ignored (the representative who hung up on me this time told me to call the Federal Do-Not-Call list as he wasn't about to remove my number), and none of the representatives I have spoken to have identified the company they work for.

This has been ongoing for MONTHS.

Caller has also previously 630-689-2849 and 702-520-1119, among others. I do not have Caller ID; numbers were identified using *69 service.

I get a phone call every morning from this phone number. There is never a response other than a dial tone after 10 seconds.

The directory lists this phone number as being the main number for a hotel in the Los Angeles area.

call and hangs up. No one answers it. I called back and never could get anyone to answer.
