Received three calls at work from this number on 10-25-12.  The person identified himself as Paul Wise from the Attorney General's office.   He stated that there are complaints against me and my SSN.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received a phone call as well saying I took $300 dollars on October 25,2012 this world is coming to a end when you have company that has the balls that can call people residents an leave a message stating they will send the police to my home to lock me up of money that they can't even explain how it came about as soon as I gave them my lawyer information and told them to send the cops they was quick to hang up the phone

Same thing as you Nancy.  They said I took a loan of $300 last year couldn't tell me when and asked me to settle. I said I would have my lawyer contact them and he was quick to hang up.
