This number belongs to Direct Buy which is a home improvement telephone vendor.

HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL CALL FROM 2142698809 BUTNHAQVE NOT ANSWERED THEM. I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE HOW THEY RECEIVED MY NUMBER.

Called yesterday.

I think they talke the do not call list as a DO call list. Since the cell phone one came out, I did not put my number on that list and surprise, surprise, I am not receiving unwanted phone calls.

Got a call from this number today.  Didn't answer & there was a voice mail with just a few seconds of very loud background noise.

I got a call from this number as well. People are aggravated at this and I understand. I have really been through the wringer when it comes to these types of calls but some folks posting i think are losing sight of the use of this board.

If you get a call from a number, REPORT IT and then leave it alone. It's like high school in here! Seriously now you have people bringing government workers into as well? Hey they get a bad rap. My wife is one and she works near ten times harder than most people I know. Maybe that is because she is paid to do it. For the five government, state or county guys you see watching one guy dig a hole, that one guy is really working his butt off. And keep in mind if someone cruised by your desk at some point in the day and took a snapshot you may not look like you are working either.

Now back to the number. I didn't answer because I am like most people.They don't leave messages either. If I don't know the number then I don't answer. Sometimes it is a number I DO KNOW and I still don't answer. That's just me though.

none left   my number is on the do not call list.  second day i received a call from this number

Zomg!!! They won't stop calling me!!!!!

This number has been calling me for about two months now despite the fact that I blocked the number. This number is apparently not a valid number so I'm not sure how I can report them to the police. If any of you know how to report them to the police, please tell me! They are getting on my nerves.

Getting calls from this number aroud 5.99 PM . Wonder Why?

Whoever is calling needs to reported to the police. They are obviously trying to harrass us and trying to scam us into getting our information. They called me for three days in a row and I want them to stop immediately or I will press charges.

Lastly, if this person keeps calling me, I will press charges on them. Everyone else should do the same if that person keeps calling them.

I am having the same problem as everyone else who commented. They constantly call me to say that I won something and stuff. I ALWAYS have to tell them that they got the wrong number because I did not sign up for anything and I'm not -insert person they are looking for here-. It is very annoying and I want them to stop calling me.

When I got this call, it sounded like a bunch of kids yelling and screaming in the background, then they hung up.

Robert K needs to find something else to do with his time rather than haunt this board and complain about legitimate people who post warnings about illegitimate phone callers. I'd give my neighbor's name too, you dumb-a*s*s!

Calls frequently.When answered no response.

These people have continued to call me either every day, every other day or twice a day, like today for instance they called me at 5:40 PM & again at 7:00 PM.

Finally for the first time today I answered the phone to tell them to remove my number & stop harassing me. I told them they better not call me again & that I was tired of them calling me every day. The female on the other end said OK.

We shall see what happens though.

I have already filed a complaint on them awhile back & called the local Police Department to file a complaint due to their harassment.

Many junk calls come from abroad, where our laws have no jurisdiction. Call blocking registries can not help with these kinds of calls.

These people are totally insane & need to be charged with harassment. I'm not sure why but these people still call me up like clockwork at about the same time each & every day. For awhile they kept calling at 8:30 PM & now they keep calling between 4:30 & 6:30 PM.

I've never once answered their call but I guess they keep calling back because they get my voice mail even though they never leave a message.

I'm just grateful I have Call Block on my telephone so I don't have to listen to the phone ring over & over again every time they call.

Something really needs to be done about this company though. This is the worst one I have ever seen as far as harassment goes.

Sorry I didn't see your message earlier but since these people keep calling almost every day I thought I would post again.

I started buying the new 6.0 Panasonic Cordless Phones that come with the Talking Caller ID. They have a couple of models that have Call Block built into the phones themselves. So it's just like saving a number to your phone book except you save it to Call Block. Then when that number calls again it only rings once & stops so you know it was a blocked call.

It's definitely beats the heck out of paying the telephone company a monthly service charge.

Called me, and asked for someone who does not live here but said I qualify for a Direct Buy Showroom  finalist and win a 2 night stay at some hotel. My advice, don't believe it.

This is Direct Buy.  I get it all the time.  Telling me I've won something - "Great news!  This is NOT a sales call!" is what I'm told upon answering.  HAHA!
