Posted a motorcycle on Craig's list and this number showed up. My husband sent a text via his cell phone. When I try calling this number a recording tells me there's no way to route it. Hope my MacBook and iphone have not been compromised. How can this scam be stopped?

I placed an ad on Craigslist under wanted and got this in return. Its a scam.

Got a text about a Craigslist ad with a link. Ignorred it based on this forum.

Same thing in response to a Craig's List ad I posted for a dirt bike I have for sale.  Didn't download the "GIMP" software.

Exact text was:  "Hi, I saw your bike ad- my husband wants one same kind as this <pic-att> http://picsoft.org/?photo=814MBV - Is your the same kind?  I'm buying him 1 this wk."

Got same message this is adware do not download it is a scam

Got a message from the ad I posted on Craigslist so I decided to check out the phone number.  Seen everyone posting about the number and realized it is a scam.

Got the same message on phone about a Craigslist ad about a 4-wheeler.

i got the same exact thing. Ad on craigslist, person replied and sent me an address for a picture I had to download a GIMP program for. Not gonna do it. And they didn't reply to my text.

Just received a text message from this number in regards to my ad on Craigslist.  They sent me a link with a photo id number, but it wanted me to download a program to view the photos. I almost did it but decided not too at the last minute.  I texted the number back, but no reply, I guess it is a scam~

you need to run a virus scan. You've likely downloaded a virus.

Tried to call them back..... didn't work.
Recording says "no route for your called destination"

Got a text in response to Craigslist "Wanted" ad.
Sent my a link to pictures, but my computer said needed to do software install to view pics.
After install, pics still couldn't be viewed.... now suspicious about whole thing!
