Got a call from this number, woman greets me with "hi Grandpa". I have no grand children but I'm sure if I replied differently she'd have some story about how she's in trouble and needs money. Why can't the local DA prosecute these scammers?
This call was logged on my office phone. 214-377-5991 at 11:25 PM!!! At least if they call during the day now I'll know not to answer it.
SCAMMERS are still operating from this number or are spoofing it.
caller: Hi CTYankee!
caller: What's up?
me: Not much, who is this?
caller: Don't you recognize your Niece's voice anymore?
me: Nope. Who is this?
214-377-5991 is a number for a VOIP to Teleco gateway for VOIP.ms' dallas servers. IT IS NOT ONE PERSON. VOIP.ms is a VOIP provider and it could be anyone of their THOUSANDS of customers. When the customer uses dallas.voip.ms as their SIP server AND they don't properly (read: DON'T BOTHER TO) set their CallerID properly, this is the number that shows up.
It's not voip.ms that is calling you, it's someone using their VOIP termination services. Unfortunately, scammers (especially from foreign countries) use VOIP (and VOIP.ms) all the time so, don't bother answering it.
This just happened to me too. Except that they identified themselves as call from Citibank to my receptionist.
Received a call from this number at my employer's office. Asked for me by name, the receptionest tried to field the call because she felt it was a scam. I was interested in seeing what they had to say since they are calling from "Citibank". I don't owe anything to Citibank and I know this. As soon as I picked up the phone and identified myself by my first name, a man with an indian accent asked ">First name, last name?<". I said, yes.... and he hung up. A little concerned about this now.
"Michael" (with an accent, natch) claimed to be calling from a B2B company regarding software but denied selling anything (don't they all?). Having received nearly a dozen calls from another scammer (208-295-7263), starting at 8:15 a.m., I had no patience for this guy and sent him straight to Purchasing. As for the other idiots, when their number appeared on Caller ID, I just picked up the receiver, then dropped it loudly, and they finally stopped. Maybe I'll use that tactic on this bunch.
Just received a call from this number claiming to be ADP and asking to talk to a member of staff. When told that we don't deal with that company, person kept insisting they had to talk to the person named eventhough I specified that I was the office manager. Asked to be removed from their list and was told "it was not possible". Dialed the number back and the recording (not official recording) said that the number "had not been allocated". Sounds like a huge scam to me.
They have dozens of numbers. If you block one they use another. It's so annoying.
I'm a receptionist and I get constant repeatitive calls from 214-377-5991. They are SO rude, calling me all sorts of digusting names. I need this number to stop calling.
Thirty pages devoted to this number? Incredible! Here's my story: "Maxwell Parker" (with an Indian accent yet) claimed to be from our auditors. He asked by name for one of our CRM managers "to set up a meeting." Since our auditors' HQ is right up the street from us, and we're on the East Coast, I knew this was a lot of bunk, so I put him on hold until he disappeared (took about a minute). This isn't the first time we've received calls from people alleging to be with that company, and we can tell it's not them by how unprofessional those individuals are.
Asked for one of my IT staff. He then asked to be put into the person's voicemail, and with the most bizarre, funny voice, almost like a tiny frog, said very slowly..."thank youuuuuuuu."
This number has called my work number multiple times and every time I answered it just kept giving me a beeping sound. Also when I used another phone to call the number it says "this number not allocated". I did a research and the phone number is under a company called XO communications. I contacted XO communications and I was transferred to their abuse hotline. I was told to write something a synopsis about the call and the investigator from XO communications gave me his name and email address:
XO Communications Investigator: Jim Tobias
just received call - Caller ID says Vitelity, LLC. Asked for one of my associates by name. When asked, he told me it was regarding a "financial loan". Put him on hold until he hung up. He then called back 4 times in a row - I just ignored it.
Just got a call from this number (214-377-5991) that said, "Hi Gramma" (since I am not a grandmother, this confused me), I said, "who is this?" the caller said, "It's me, your grandson", I was getting ready to say, "I don't have a grandson" when the caller hung up.
Truman Elementary School
This number calls the school 2 or 3 times a day and hangs up when told to have our number taken off the list!!
Display said "Vitelity LLC" and the caller, a man with an accent asked for my HR Manager by name. When I told him she was out and asked if he wanted to leave a voicemail, he hung up!
Still Going On
Just got this call today at my work number, the caller said "is this X" and used my name, I said "it is" and they hung up.
Find out who using this number
Same thing happened at work today with an employee. Same number, same MO.
I just received a call from this same number 214-377-5991 ... I answered "Hello, this is Linda" ...they then asked "Is this Linda Cxxxxxxx, at (my place of business name)"... I said "yes it is" and they hung up. I tried calling the number back and it tells me "The number you have dialed is unallocated" ..............THEY knew my last name and my place of employment!!!
What the heck??
Received a call from 214-377-5991 just before fraudulent debit card activity related to Target security breach between 11/28 & 12/15/13. This number reverse traces to VITELITY, LLC, but also results in "this number is unallocated" when called back. Strongly suspect this mobile number based out of Collin County, Dallas, TX 75247 - is being used in association with the recent Target breach! If you get a call from this number - check your Target, Credit Card, or Debit card accounts ASAP!
Also got a call from this number. But looking at all these reviews I don't think I need to explain it.
They keep calling and hanging up - would love to know whats going on.
Caller attempted contact 3 times at main job telephone number . Caller stated they had a package for delivery but would not confirm name then would hang up.
Received a call from this number at work today. They asked the receptionist for my extension and told her they had a UPS package to deliver. She forwarded the caller to me. He stated my first and last name, asked if that's who I was. I said yes. He said thanks and hung up. He had a vague foreign accent and there was a lot of background noise.
I got a call from this number saying its Welsfargo, its not don't give them your info at all.
