Saw this posting online for "American Data Group," for clerical/office work.  Called the number and "Richard" very quickly ran through how it would work, trying to side step questions, and insisting on my credit card number.  When I didn't feel comfortable with it and said I would call back, he actually got mad and yelled at me did I want the job or not, and that these jobs would no longer be available when I called back. Hmm... is that because he would change his scam number to something else?!?!

Girlfriend just lost her "brainiac of the year" award.  She was called and told that they send an informational catalogue of all the available jobs the government is currently hiring, and before she knows it, she's giving the credit card number over the phone.

The scam is almost believable, and ripoff.com had a rebuttal from the real ADG located in California.  They sell financial software TO the government, not advertise FOR the government.

People ---- PLEEEEZE do not fall for these solicited offers, especially the so-called toll-free ones. As those have stated ---- they are rip-off sharks. No legit government job advertises like that. And they especially do NOT CHARGE FEES for it. Sharks know many of us are desperate and gullible. Oh, you see signs on the road side all the time "Now hiring - fed/state gov't jobs! Uncle Sam NEEDS you. Call 1-800-xxx-xxxx"

This garbage is everywhere, especially so during this deep Recession. It's gotten ridiculous. There are legit gov't jobs out there, and LEGIT web sites advertising them. Simply call your local employment fed or state office. Go online to legit sites like USAJOBS.GOV or Google legit gov't job sites. Call you local recruiters office if you have to.

Just don't fall for call solicitations, 800-job adverts, or other such sharks. Anyone who charges a fee for such a service is laughing all the way to the bank.

You are correct there is a fee but it is for the service.  I did not use this group but used another group that was about the same and the information you get is not really that easy to get on your own but sometimes the information is crap.  I have not talked to this group.  I had one group call me and offer a service to place me - they only wanted $8000 now (yes eight thousand and no job guarantee).  There line is that they Market you to the companies not listing through normal channels.

Yes! I call the number and spoke to the representative named Michael. He explain everything. But one thing i don't like is that...is the $ 69.00 registration fee. I doubt about it. Its kind of a scam i guess.

Yeah they offer government jobs alright.. for a fee of $69.99 for registration with them and their 'services'!!  why should i have to pay for job search for a list when i can get those lists free on my own...  don't think so!  sounds like a rip off of one sort or another to get money out of ppl
