Some guy called me from this number with an accent claiming to be an officer and doing an investigation. he claimed he could "help me" now if i call him. i'm not calling this moron. can something be done here. i highly doubt he is an officer?

i got several messages from some guy that i couldn't get his name from dept of law! saying that i am running from the law and i need to call back with whatever reason. scary thing is, he mentioned my city where i live! scaryyyyy.....he had some weird accent???!! so happy to discover this site, knew it was fishy right off the batt!!!

I fell for this scam,coz i thought its true,coz i took out a payday loan years ago,but when i call that loan company they said they never fiked any jugdment against me,this company got me for $150.00 dollars they would got more if i didnt look it up,they said they from homeland security secret services and sound like indian,dont fall for that its a scam!!!!

What I have found is that you have to push with your reporting. I didn't just got to the IC3.gove website, I called my FBI field office. I called my state Homeland Security and Secret Service Offices. I called my state police instead of my local police. And when they called, I told them this. A SS agent actually called them back on my behalf and I haven't had a call since. I have tracked numbers and reported them to the telcomm companies that own them.

The FBI has received over 10,000 complaints. The officer I spoke to made calls to our regional office and then at a national level. From what he tells me, this is not being looked at as a scam anymore, but attempted extortion ring, and it is being actively investigated. THe FTC is also actively investigating this and says they are VERY close to closing in on several perpetrators. There have been a number of people on these boards contacting DATELINE NBC- enough of us that they are actively researching and putting together a story....... and I encourage anyone here to do so. Please e-mail your stories to simon.doolittle@nbcuni.com. Anyone with saved messages, or especially if you have paid these scammers, Dateline wants to talk to you.

This same guy called again on thursday and friday claiming they have to get the money back we supposedly got from cashnet.com and Ameriloans.com. I told the guy off and he threatened to blow up my house and my husband,this guy has all our info.I found Ameriloans.com and called their number a guy name Wesley answered the phone,he had an attitude right off. I proceed to ask the guy a few questions about these calls we are getting,first thing he ask me is (Are the people calling have an accent) and then he hangs up.

YESTERDAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE SAME GUY THAT EVERYONE DESCRIBES. HE STATED HE WAS AN ATTORNEY AND WAS COLLECTING A DEBT I OWED TO A PAYDAY LOAN CO.... I TOLD HIM NO SUCH TRUTH... I HUNG UP AND CALLED THE PAYDAY LOAN CO HE MENTIONED AND THEY STATED IT WAS A SCAM AND THAT THEY HAD THEIR FRAUD DEPT INVESTIGATING.... I THEN WROTE THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE IN CA.... TODAY ANOTHER CALL THIS TIME THEY LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY VOICE MAIL AND STATED THAT HE WA AN OFFICER AND WAS TRYING TO HELP ME.... HE ACTUALLY LEFT HIS NUMBER ON MY VOICEMAIL....WHAT HE DOES NOT KNOW IS THAT I ACTUALLY USED TO BE IN THE COLLECTIONS BUSINESS AND WILL CROSS THE NUMBER TO GET THEIR ACTUAL ADDRESS... I AM ALSO TRACING AND FUTURE CALLS AND TURNING THE INFORMATION OVER TO THE PHONE COMPANY....

I have received a phone call several times a day from this company for about 3 days now. I haven't been able to understand the names, but they say that they are from the department of investigation and say it's important to call them back. I talked to 3 different people yesterday and according to them I took a payday loan out that was deposited in my account in February and that it wasn't payed back. I told them i have never taken nor will i ever take out a payday loan and not to call me again! then today they called me back 3 times. I'm about to call the cops on this number!

Calling all day looking for someone else, apparenty they think they are looking for someone at this number and it's the wrong number, have called 10 times in one day.Don't give these guys any info!!!!!

Got a call from this number again today.  They are so annoying!!!!!   First this man with a foreign accent keeps calling my cell phone now my office phone.  Not sure at all how they got my information!!  He claims to be from some investigation unit.  Stating it was urgent that I called him back.  It sounds like he was reading from a script.  They stopped for a week now they are calling back.  They picked the wrong government phone and person to mess with!!!!  I figured it was a scam anyway.  Will squash these calls from my phones.   I hope these scammers get caught!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from this number by a man with a thick accent asking for my husband.  I said he was unavailable, and asked to take a message.  He said it was concerning my mother in law and couldn't pronounce her last name.  He said he was from a law office and investigation firm and it was important for my husband to call him back fast.  If he really was from a place like that he just broke the rules by giving me information.  I'm glad I found this site to confirm my suspicions.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL.  IF THEY CALL YOU PLEASE REPORT THEM,   THEY TIRED TELLING ME I OWE A PAY DAY LOAN. WHICH IS NOT TRUE AT ALL AND THE FUNNY PART IS THEY ARE CALLING ME AT WORK AND I WORK FOR A COLLECTION OFFICE THAT COLLECTS PAID DAY LOANS  THEY ARE BREAKING THE FDCPA IN SO MANY WAYS IT IS NOT FUNNY

I just received a voice mail from this number. Said his name was Joseph Parker (sounded middle eastern) and was investigator with 'law enforcement'. Stated that someone (name was unintelligible) was using my name and number to perpetrate a fraud and please call back asap. I did but it took three tries to get through. Had LONG blank silence then finally connected on third try. Female answered who also sounded middle eastern. Said it was "law enforcement" and wanted to know if I were Dominique somebody. I asked who I was speaking to and what company it was. Was again told it was "law enforcement" and asked if I were Dominique somebody or other. I laughed and said I certainly was not. She then told me very politely that she would make a note that it was a "wrong number" and "thank you for calling". I''m going to call my phone company now and report it.

I just got a call from some guy claiming that he was from the department of special investigation. He said that I needed to call him right away and that it was time sensitive. Does this sound familiar? I haven't borrowed money from anyone so I don't know why they are calling me.

I just got off the phone with Specer Ross from the Department of Law and Investigations in regard to a payday loan that I took out which I didn't pay for.  The man spoke English fairly well.  However, before he talked to me another person started the call and he sounded very much Eastern Indian.  I had a feeling this was a scam from the moment I got the call.

I really hate these companies.

These people have also called my job and my home several times. It's been very hard to call them back and when I do, they are rude and then we get disconnected. I've also spoken with a Spencer Riley who sounded like an american, he was also very rude especially when I told him that I had a lawyer that they would have to communicate with my lawyer fom now on, when I gave him my lawyer's#, he became very disinterested and hung up.  There's also a very rude woman who has also called me, unfrotunately I didn't catch her name? So I harrashed them by calling them repeatedly like they did me, and guess what they didn't like that and ask me to stop calling them.  They have also used the #, 214-446-4906.

I got a call from this Dallas TX #: 2144464904. The person acted like it was very important, said he was a police officer and if I called him we could get the matter resolved immediately. He didn't speak English well and there was a lot of car/traffic type noise. I figured it was a scam because I know police officers don't normally make calls like that. These posts really helped confirm it though. Thank you!!!

i received a voice mail from them today, two different ones the funny thing was they both had the same name but different voices. i tried to call them back but it said message senters mailbox full. and an error had occured. i got a call from dif # same people. 863-288-0032

These people got personal information of a family member.  Beware!!!!!

Just scammers from India...no need to worry...they cant and wont do anything.  Unfortunantly the only real advice I can give you to make it stop once it has started is changing your phone number, if thats a possibility.  Beyond that, since the scammers are in India, theres not a whole lot that can be done.  The scammers use VOIP or prepaid cellular to make it appear that their calls are coming from America when they are really not.

I'll be glad when they catch these people.

I had to put block unavailable calls on my cell. the government make it easy for bad people to get everyones info. nowadays just to buy a pencil they need all our info plus a quarter blood . I too feel sorry for the elderly they are the first ones to get scammed.

this guys not serious is he!  My concern is the elderly he must have scamed n honest people who just think they owe a bill. im callin the BBB he is really annoying me.

This guy continues to call claiming his name is officer Michal Phillips calling from the fraud investigation depart and he can help me if I call back right away that this is time sensitive.....these people are SCAMS and just wanting your bank account information....it's obvious that they are reading from a script as it appears the story seems to be the same as everyone they call.

Something should seriously be done about this as they call my job and friends of mine.....

I have no idea who this guy is...but he calls and I can barely understand his pakistani or middle eastern a**! And he keeps leaving messages...but when I call back, no answer!! THIS IS A SCAM for sure!!!!
