Foreign sounding woman, did not give name, wanted to know who the Head of the IT department was.

Asked to speak to someone in marketing. Would not give me a company name.

These people have called me 15 times today asking for different people in our company, demanding emails (which we do not give out) They have hung up on me each  time & finally ended the call by calling me a "bit@h".

Foreign sounding (Asian) woman wanting to know the email format for our company to send an invitation to a seminar.  Said she was with Simentic (hard to understand).  Very persistant.  Even though I told her I was not authorized to give out email addresses, she kept asking for the format of our addresses.  When she realized she wasn't going to get the information from me, she then asked for our IT Department.

They are calling my cell phone people. The number I have is my own personal number not belonging to ANY company. Had 2 calls in 2 days and I am finding that this is what they are going. Does not make me happy. I called them back just now to tell them to quite calling or I would turn them it for harassment and 214-446-9834 is a FAX number.

Never once said a company name, when i asked she kept asking for whom she called for, I told her wrong number....Nobody here by that name

Someone guy with an Indian-sounding accent called, couldn't understand a damn thing he was saying. He asked for the office manager, I asked if he had a name, he just repeated himself.

Asked what it was about, and he said something about Tech or something and wanted to send me information to an email address. After telling him he reached my personal cell phone, he just asked for an email address again. I told him my email was "Go@F***yourself.com" and told him I was looking forward to his email. He yelled something in a different language and hung up.

I have received 2 calls from this company so far. All they keep asking for is "The Office Manager". They won't tell me anything about them selves and if I ask them a question they just repeat themselves. Both times I have told them to take me off the calling list, but obviously that didn't happen. First time it was some (east Indian) sounding women and the second time was another women (with bad phone manners and grammar). Glad to know to watch out for possible aggressive tendencies. Foreign person called me from "FEDEX" saying they were having trouble delivering a package to me and wanted to confirm my address and email. When I started questioning him, he hung up.  this is second call in a week

Called last week and left no msg on my desk phone.

A lady with a thick accent called and asked for me by my first name.  Then she proceeded to tell me that she had received a file on me stating that I had more than $10K in debt.  When I corrected her (I have no debt), she said she was sorry and hung up.  Whoever this is, they are doing something illegal...trying to get information...possibly identity theft.  Who/Where should we report this?

Got a call today, caller id says TG, I let the machine answer.  They hung up during my outgoing message.

they've changed their story -- now they are a something something food kitchen for the "poor children". you can;t understand through the woman's heavy slavic accent.

Very nice lady called.  Knew my name and where I worked.  She had a slightly outdated title for me, so I'm wondering if they culled the information from some online resource, such as a social networking site (MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) as I always over-simplify my title on sites like that.

Getting rid of callers like this, and getting taken off their list is VERY easy.  When they ask to verify your name, business, title, phone, eMail, or whatever... just tell them that the information they have on you is incorrect.

Tell them you no longer work for that company -- haven't in a long time -- and that you no longer use eMail since you've RETIRED and just poke around the home.  "Retired" is the key word.  As soon as they realize you'll have no current information for them (such as other people's eMail addresses or contacts) they'll get off the phone faster than you can imagine.

Works every time.

These people, by the way, are scammers. They're cold callers who's only purpose is to extract useful names and eMail addresses and phone numbers from you -- since those items are very valuable in the direct-mail and SPAM markets, as well as cold-call markets.  Once they realize you will not be able to provide them with the information that makes them money, they'll leave you alone.

(214) 446-9834 is the number where I keep getting calls from someone wanting to talk to the head of post - production. I said send something in the mail since they have our address - they keep calling back so I told them not to call anymore. A man called saying he was the owner of Tec internation wanting to speak to our IT director (we don't have one) I said not to call our number anymore they just send another one to call so I've just started hanging up.

214-446-9834 - called and asked to be transferred to IT dept.  I hung up on them.  They have called me back at least 40 times. I keep picking up and hanging up.  Whoever they are - they are trying to spite me.  Go ahead, keep calling and using up your $$$ - LOL.  This has been going on since 10:30, morons.

Received multiple calls from 1.214.446.9834 wanting to contact us about a convention. The voice sounded very similar to phone calls we had received from:

Anyway I recognized her voice so knew to ask what company she was from "TREC International" I went to their website and asked her why a real estate group wants to speak to someone in IT about a convention. She did not reply, I then asked her why she left "Sterling" the company she claimed to be from last week (using the numbers above)

I then contacted TREC International using the number on their website (different area code from the caller ID) and the man I spoke with sounded very exhausted and said they had been using his companies name without their permission and they were most definitely NOT related to those people.

I hung up on her...

Keeps calling, asking me for all these different people at my job! It's getting real annoying. The accent of these people sound like those fake IBM people who call my job asking if people are still with the company and their titles and they don't give up.

These calls are irritating and harrassing, not to mention disruptive to my job.  I've been with my organization for only 6 months and I get about 4 calls a day from them.  No matter what I do, they won't stop.  Does anyone have any advice for how I can try to get this resolved?

A female caller with a very heavy accent called our Receptionist asking to speak to someone regarding tax calculations. When speaking to her she was abnormally polite repeating between each question, "Thank you Maam, if I could just get from you....." continually evading questions to her. She was also fishing for higher up employees who make decisions regarding tax calculations. She claimed she was S.(Sharie??) Anderson with Tech Finance from North Carolina.   Reverse look up puts her in Dallas, TX with a Tex-link Comm phone service. Prior to her call a male with a heavy accent kept calling from 562-392-9900 in Downey, CA, GLobal Crossing Local Srvs, Inc/Broadwing Comm, LLC fishing for information as well

been calling for the past few days asking for our customer service ops department and also asking if we do customer support calls. asked to be removed from the list, lasy with accent does not seem to understand me. called back THRICE in succession, just did not answer and the calls stopped. at least for today.

Same thing here....lady calls and keeps and says she is sending something and wants to verify info but when you verify they keep calling and calling.  All they want is more names in your company that they can annoy with their sales materials.  We as operators were very pleasant the first 20 times they called wanting the same thing but continually asking to get to other people.  They do not even know the name of our company.  I asked her not to call here nicely.  That did not work, she called right back.  I told her I would report her to the police and that did not work.  She just keeps calling over and over again.  So I reported the numbers to our IT department and hopefully we can block the calls.  She calls with a different name each day but always the same lady with a bit of a foreign accent.  I tried to call the number back to but it is always busy.  They are tying up our lines for our actual clients who we need to service.  Someone needs to get these people stopped!

This has to be the most annoying caller we have on the books.  Trek International/TG/Whoever they claim to be that day has been calling for months.  They don't respond when you ask to be taken off the list.  When you actually give them the answer of who they are trying to send webinar invites they completely ignore what you are telling them.  I was hung up on.  And then they have the nerve to keep calling back.

Seriously I can't imagine any of this is legit, as every time I am bombarded by calls its always from a different state

Received a phone call from them today, 4/2/09.  Caller claimed to be "Marlin Anderson" from Trec International.  We receive numberous calls daily from this supposed company, not always this number.  I work in Security for a very well known company and our IT department has started passing these through to us since they are so persistant and we do not give out this type of information.  The lady I spoke with on Tuesday, said their headquarters is in NJ and they have offices in Daytona, NYC,and Clearwater... yet we've received calls from CA and this one is from TX.  I told the woman today I did not know who she needed to speak with and would have them call her back, after much resistance, she gave me a local telephone number and hung up.  I tried calling the number, and like all the others they provide, not in service.  She called back, within 5 minutes of hanging up, acted like she didn't just speak with me.  I told her "I know who you are and its kind of funny, I tried calling you back to get some more information about this seminar you spoke of to better direct you, and the number is not good."  She said "Our lines are always busy" I explained to her that "NO, it is not a working number" she said "Oh thats weird, thats the number I'm calling you from"  Me, "No, you're calling from a 214 number, so I suggest you tell me who you really are and what you really want."  Her only response was "oh" and hung up.  I am going to try and run a background on the name she provided me, although I'm sure its not her real name either... When I tried calling the 214 number back, it was hooked to a fax... I thought about faxing them, but then thats one more way for them to contact us back which I dont want to start!

I spoke with a gal who stated she wanted to know who was the manager of our fleet.  I told her I was.  She wanted my title, I told her. The more questions she asked,  I told her I wasn't going to answer them.  She said she need the information for a round table meeting that she was setting up for her boss.  I told her I didn't want any part of it.  She was very persistant.  I told her that her company and what she was doing is illegal.  She said "no ma'am, I do not understand".  I asked her who she was with.  She told me but I couldn't understand because of her very heavy accent.  It didnt' sound like anything mentioned from the other postings.  I finally hung up.
