Dead air call, then called again an hour or so later. Asked if I needed to buy Viagra, Cialis, etc. Noisy call center, Indian accent.

Received the call and they could not verify the information, and Microsoft does not call you

My experience is the same as above....they called three times in one week from the same number listed above (the first two times I hung up on them) the third time I answered telling him to remove me from his calling list. He started franticially speaking stating he is not a telemarketer and that my computer has been sending them error notices directly for the past two weeks and this is an urgent issue. He asked me to log on immediately and I told him I was at work so I could not. He asked what time he could call back and stressed that I must be available to take his call at that time. I asked for his call back number and extension so I could check it here. SO GLAD I DID! The caller sounded very professional and could very easily be convincing to someone less suspecting. Keep your guard up! In reality, Microsoft cannot possibly call everyone that uses one of their operating systems even if something was wrong, so don't get scammed by these losers!!

claimed my computer was sending bad data based on my Microsoft license. I don't have a home computer and i don't have a microsoft license in my name let alone associated with my phone number. when i asked for my number to be removed from their calling list ... 'I cannot do that ...' second request to remove my number from their calling list 'may i ask why you would like to be removed?' Finally i hung up.

same as everybody else. got a call from this guy saying he got errors reports and our computer would soon crash if we didn't fix it. it wanted access to our computer through a website called showmypc.com
he then took over control and showed me these error reports and items indicating someone was trying to hack into my computer. since is put all my files on a flash drive and have nothing of importance stored in my computer I waited to see if he was just giving me information or if he wanted me to pay.. He eventually tried to sell me products that would cost $200 lifetime protection that would give me 24/7 tech support. I told him im not paying anything over the phone but give me his call back number. He gave me 214 447 7707. He asked for me to open my email to he can send me some kind of confirmation. it was then I new he could not be trusted and I told him i didn't trust what was happening and hung up. Im a little worried if i in fact had something stored in my computer that i may have missed...Hopefully my account with LifeLock will protect me....

Called from Phone (caller ID): 217-636-3335
Gave his phone number as: 214-447-7707
Explained that he knew we had slow computer, had downloaded bad files in our Microsoft Windows computer - that he was a tech, not with Microsoft, but that he could fix the issues.
Husband decided to talk with him, and went so far as to bring up the software from a site: copymypc -- or some such name -- (it's now closed and deleted).
I thought it was absurd - as we have Norton 360 subscription, and if any issues, we call Norton.
I then typed in (on my Macbook Air) - the phone number: 2144477707 -- and came up with this.
So hubby immediately told him he wasn't comfortable letting someone into his computer that he didn't know. and the conversation ended.
... whew!

I hate to say I was scammed for $200 but I was. They called each month for 2 or 3 times and cleaned out my computer but the phone number listed in Texas is bogus. The person who I spoke with is Kevin Michael. I am unable to get any response from him or the company.

Yes, it's a scam. And the reason he can "see" the error messages has more to do with the drugs he is on than with him being a technician (which is also one of his hallucinations, by the way).
Anna 2013-04-30 20:56:57 Unknown
Got a call today from "Kevin" claiming that my husband's computer is sending error messages, and that they can see this because he is a Microsoft-certified technician. I assume this is a scam. Yes?
Kirsty Hubbert 2013-04-17 21:09:56 Prank Call
I just got a call from someone claiming to be from an office of certified Microsoft engineers wanting access to my PC to fix a problem that my PC was sending to "the server"! Giving a stranger access to my computer?! I think not. And having read the above I'm very glad I didn't go any further. I Googled the telephone number expecting to find such forums about this clear hoax, and I did. Thanks to all who've posted. I never post online but felt compelled to in this case.

Bert 2013-04-02 20:12:05 Unknown
That's correct. Microsoft does NOT make unsolicited calls about your computer.
raymond 2013-04-02 13:31:28 Unknown
She said they were from Microsoft and wanted access to my computer to check for corrupted files
on the web browser. She was extremely persistent. I told her no thank you. I asked how she got
my phone number, she immediately hung up.

Anyone who calls and claims to be Microsoft is a scam. I received a call from this number with the same intro and they asked me to sign them on with team viewer. No way. My hats off to all their satisfied customers but the only people with access to my computer are people I know.

I got a similar call from some dothead jagoff, the room sounded like it was full of these dothead scammers.
I told him to f--- off, he's a scammer.
It's always some dothead with these scams, they should all be sent to concentration camps!

I recieved a call from this number claiming the are working for Windows. I asked if the call was recorded and was told yes for security purposes and was told I cannot get a copy of the recording. They then told me to get on my computer and follow their directions. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was not one on duty and I could not get a number to contact said supervisor. The guy just kept telling me to get on the computer and I finally told him I didn't even have a computer and he asked if my name was Marvin...I'm one of those girls that sound like a girl on the phone too..this whole thing has to be a scam. If these people contact you at least ask if they know your name, because they should if your computer is registered.

That 214 number is in Dallas Tx. Got a call on Thursday and by Sunday the number didn't exist. Called info in Manvel and no such number and company exists. I'm was having problems with Explorer (my son-in-law checked his laptop and one other in his house and they were having problems too). I'm having problems getting firefox to open. If Allan Smith of Micosoft calls beware-he will give an Id number and badge #.

Your other fake posts were marked by the admin. How stupid are you that you think more fake posts are going to fool anybody on this site?
No wonder you can't get a real job and have to run this filthy computer SCAM. Does your mom know you commit fraud for a living or did you "fix" her computer too?
