Call on home phone, asked for my son who is 15. She said she was "from the school." I asked what school and she gave the name of his HS. I handed the phone to him, and it was a sales pitch for an "appreciation plaque" for his parents. He told her he wasn't interested. I suspect this is a phishing scam and will not answer this number again. We also don't know anyone in Dallas.

Just got a call from this number, asking to speak with my child.  I thought it was weird that he would call my line instead of my child's.  He identified himself as "Chris" a Senior from my child's high school.  Thankfully I was sitting with my child while the conversation took place &  my child had no interest in "buying" whatever it was this Chris person was selling.

The fact that he and other cons and/or sex offenders are coming to your doors! He should not be able to obtain your childrens' personal information!! He must be stopped! I also have children that are in High School!

He and his mother have been doing this scam for probably 18 years or so. Every year!! Schools all in and around the DFW areas. Even as far as Austiin. I know how they do it, how they get the information, and trust me... you won't like it!! Now I'm scared!!!

He is a con-artist. And I will check back here to see if I have any replies or responses to this post! He needs to be stopped! Your childrens' personal information is in the wrong hands!!!!!! I have all the info you need to put a stop to this! He is a criminal who has your children's info! I am sorry I have not come forward sooner! But he knows me... and he scares me!!!

My daughter got a call on her cell phone - a sales pitch about a plaque for parent.  She bought it but I didn't know anything about it.  It was delivered today COD $39.90.  They must have gotten a list from school because it has her name, grade, high school and they knew our address and her cell number!  Really mad about this!!!!

This is who we are looking for, not sure why he is calling kids but I am looking him up actively to find out what is going on, call the number back it will ring, maybe if we bug him he'll leave kids alone. He is also at 32.7794 lat and -96.8066 long for anyone that can figure out where that is. The number is a land line conectd to cellco dba verizon in dallas and one addres I found is 5349 Amesbury drive apt 1615, I'm still lookin and will post anything else I find, let's get this creep to stop!!

I have been receiving this call for 2 days in a row from this phone. I call back and same thing. Busy signal or don't talk.

I've gotten several calls from this number with the name "Lawrence Darrin" on the caller ID, but there's never anyone there when I answer, only silence. When I try to call back, I get a busy signal or some message or other that the call cannot go through or it's not accepting calls.  

I am sure this is a scam, but I sure do wish I could figure out how to stop from getting calls from this # altogether.

I got a call on MY cell phone from a kid asking for my son who's 14. My son barely remembers my number - he usually has to look it up on his own phone. This kid sounded like a young boy but said his name was Tina. When I went to ask my son, the person hung up. When I call back it's busy. Keep calling and I get something that sounds like a fax machine. Something's up with this... It's a Dallas, TX number. My son doesn't even know anyone in Dallas.

I received a call from this number last night but didn't answer it.  Called it from a phone at work and an adult man answered.  I just claimed to have the wrong number.  This is not cool!  Spreading the word to my friends and co-workers not to answer calls from this number.

Sara, you need to double check your facts. If you are certain, then provide the proof that a bogus telemarketing call is really the accused. Geez, do you see sex offenders hiding in your hedges too?

Geez folks. Do you not know how to just ignore a call from a bogus caller ID? You get all worked up about a bogus telemarketer. They don't have any real info on you that isn't a public record. Just hang up or better yet, Don't Answer.

This number has called the house 4 times in the past week. a girl names christine called about breakfast parent appreciation and wanted to know if she would like to participate in the school function and this is what im reading this is not cool. the girl even repeated the number, stop these calls please they are calling the house.

My Minor daughter keeps getting these calls but its a different number 214-283-9898 regarding parent appreciation and wanted my daughter's cell phone number. I called the number back and did reach someone who really could not give me any explanation and therefore I insisted to remove my emergency contact number and to call my cell number.

this man is a predator. The name Darren Button comes up when you search, this man is a registered sex offender in Dallas. Please report his calls asking for minor children to your local police department.

Received several calls from this person he asked for my daughter by name as if he was a friend. He said his name was steven garza and asked that I let her know that he called.  We tried several times to call him back but it goes to an answering machine. After reading the other posts and having received 4 other calls from him without a message left and calls from direct buy suddenly starting at the same time I believe our school gave out our contact numbers which was my cell....I have my phone listed on the National and State Do Not Call list and have had it on there for over a year so the school and my doctor are the only others that have that number. So start making some noise at your childs school for giving out the phone list.

This number called me around the same time 2 days in a row & when I say hello I get no answer for about 10 seconds & then hang up. I called back & I guy answered & I explained what had happened & he hung up on me.

I will be blocking the number now.

My cell is published in the school directory too. Called back, no answer. They did not leave a message. They have been calling a lot here lately. My kids do use my cell as well.

This is a scam - I think they have gotten a list from the schools!!!!  My daughter has her cell phone listed with the school - this number called her yesterday to purchase a plaque.  She told them yes not and to send it to me.  Today I get a COD delivery in an envelope 8 1/2 x 11 to Emily @ her high school (our home address) and since she wasn't home & I didn't realize what was going on... I'm out 39.90 for a plaque that is probably worth $2.00
