Repeated calls from this number purporting to be a yellow pages internet company "checking on listing information." Caller has accent of some kind. Persistent and somewhat pushy when questioned. I always hang up after telling him he's a scam and should be ashamed of himself for doing this.

This seems to be the same person calling from this number, because for a while he will hang up after I identify myself on the phone. Then there are no calls for a while. Then the process starts again. He thinks I won't remember him? Well, I do remember that sorry example of a human being.

Good for you for punking Habib!! I made the mistake years ago of verifying some "internet listing information" and was greeted the next month by a $246.00 internet service listing on my phone bill. Lame. Fought it and got it removed. Now I'm hyper-vigilant about who I give ANY info over the phone to. But just for giggles.... ask Habib what the website address is. Very entertaining to listen to them scramble!!

Calling about "Internet Yellow Page AD" for our business.  The caller ID showed the number I have listed here, but while I was on the phone with "Habib" I used my cell phone to dial his number - all I got was a message saying that the number was either changed or disconnected.  I asked "Habib" why he was calling me from a FAKED number...he kept right to his script.  I finally flustered him when I started questioning him as to WHY someone would want to do business with a company that would give out a fake number. He tried to give me a toll free number that didn't work either (1-866-501-7767). I called him on the carpet for that too.  He finally hung up.  SOMEDAY, the government will require the phone companies to block businesses from being able to FAKE their caller ID info - like they SHOULD be doing all along. As long as scammers can FAKE their caller info and their email info, they will be free to RIP US OFF. Did you know that the email scammers / spammers cand add CODE to their SPAM emails to prevent you from FORWARDING them?  This keeps you from being able to FORWARD their spam to sites like spam@uce.gov or to their providers emails like abuse@gmail.com.
