I GOT CALL FROM THIS NUMBER, CALLER ID INTERNATIONAL AND THE PERSON WAS FROM INDIA. LOOK LIKE LOCAL PHONE NUMBER, WHEN CALL BACK, WEIRD VOICES OVER THE PHONE

Did a little research.  Seems this number will show up when you get a call from someone using SKYPE voip (an internet call).  Also see some reports of calling cards coming in on this number.  What better setup for scammers!  A basically untraceable phone system to make unlimited calls for a low monthly cost.  Some reports of this number showing up (hangup call or music) just before getting a legit call from overseas, which then may or may not show this number.  In short, this could be a legit call or it could be some idiot in Uganda playing with his free phone system to make random calls.

It could also be a scammer trying to get a card or bank acct number, or the Nigerian Finance Minister looking for a little help getting his money out of the country.  Who knows, be careful!

At this point, 7 pages of info - all indicating a scam of some sort.  I've not been home to answer any of these, but I think I'll file the Do Not Call complaint without warning them first.  Usually I give them a chance to stop the calls on their own, But these jerks sound like scum to me.

I kept getting this number on my cell and I REFUSED to answer.  It's a pest!! When I tried to return the call, it would ask me for credit card number to accept the call.

HOw ridiculous is this!...I just got like tons of misssed calls from this same number..Didn't answer b/c what is the point when I don't recognize the number, then I read the above comments and its like what the heck, the people who are doing this obviously don't have nothing better to do. Isn't there some way to stop this? its ridiculous especially when its Spam calls.

I just received 2 missed calls from this number, and they left me two long voice mails. I couldn’t understand anything; I think they weren’t talking in English (there were two men talking) . I called the number back and there was a recorded voice saying “please wait while we connect your call” and than techno music came up. I hung up! Does anyone know what this is all about?

Caller said they had information that $95.00 had been fraudulantly taken from my bank account and needed me to verify some information.  I only verified my name and address, which he already had  -- then asked him who reported this.  Caller then changed the amount taken from my account to $395.00 and asked me to "just listen --  listen".  He asked me to verify my Bank and stated he would need some additional info in order to get the money redepoisted (which would mean the next question would probably have been asking for my account number).
I told him that I was going to report the call to the police (which is what everyone should do)and hung up. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM!

Just received a call myself.  Was told that they were selling a medical card to seniors.  Don't know what they are using for a telemarketing list as I am not a senior.  Also, I am the do not call list so they are breaking the law as I did not ask anyone to contact about this knid of information.

This number will not stop bugging me! Can someone tell me who this is?

I received a call today from 214-586-0999. When i called backed, a voice said, what one moment please, then techno music plays and plays and plays. Does anyone know who is making these calls

in the past 2 days have received 5 calls from them asking something about medical cards - tracked #to IBFA Acquisition LLC who is being acquired by Telava Networks, Inc - phone #1-888-483-5282 - but don't bother trying to reach anyone as you can only keep receiving the same recorded message or finally get to the point you can leave a message - the scary thing is they are a wireless company with license to operate in several US states - just received a call from 817-945-3243 asking about medical cards

Just jack***es getting peoples goats, and, if you're elderly or NTB, they're getting information from those that a) call back (wait 'til your bill comes), and b) give them any info. about where you are, etc.  I got one a few minutes ago.  ANY time I get a slight delay (I'm talking nanoseconds) before there's a 'hello' or other greeting, it's the 'off' button for them.  Save yourselves a lot of grief and do the same.

I received a call from this number.  I couldnt understand what the man was  selling something.  I immediately replied for him to take my number off their calling list.  With that, he started cursing and calling me an f'ing b#tch.  Then I received another call later the same day from "restricted"  when i answered and asked who it was they hung up.

this is to weird. i'm selling my car on the internet. Someone emailed me named frank wong. He said he was interested in my car. I was like alright maybe a scam not really sure. Then in the later weeks wrote me a business check with the company lillis manning on it. I took the check to the bank and it cleared. My bank said wait about a week. it's been a week and still it's cleared. the guy kept calling me with this phone number. heavy indian accent really weird guy. i think it's a scam but the check is still cleared. could it be this guy is stealing money from a company to buy my car?

they call my husband telling him we qualify for a $2500 grant to be deposited into our account tomorrow. when my husband replied that we have no bank account they said to just give them a friend or families account number and they will deposit it them in theirs.

I was on the other line with my boss and got this call on my caller ID so I called it back and got retro music.. WHAT IS THIS NUMBER TO ?

They (Indian voice) claimed as I had paid my taxes on time I could get my $1000 rebate, after laughing and hanging up I guess I missed the part about how they would need my bank details to pay the money to me.....

I continue to receive a call on my cell phone from this number.  it is someone with a foreign accent/middle eastern/ saying they are from the US government.  I have advised them strongly to not call my phone ever again and on 2 occassions they started using vulgar language, cussing at me and the other times they hung up.

This number called I didn't answer first time, then the next time I had different number and it was my brother calling from South Africa on his gap year. he said the first number was him using a phone card :) So if you know anyone abroad on their travels its likely to be them, and if they're calling to late in the evening remind them of global timezones!! lol (FYI he purchased the phonecard in the United Kingdom)

I fell hook line and sinker! Says he loves me and is stuck in Africa and needs money to get home. Good thing I'm broke as a joke, or I probably would have done it. Seemed very sincere. God, I'm tired of falling for this crap!

told them I already had insurance. they had information on my social security stating they knew my social security was going to my bank. they asked for my bank name, I told them I would not give any personal information and they hung up. they just called again while I was typing this it is 4/21/08 at 2:02 pm this is the third time today. I told them on the second call to take me off their list. They did not.

This number is a relay / repeater number for incoming International calls. My parents just called me from Germany and this "International" 214# came up on the caller ID. My parents use Tmobile overseas to call back to the states. Again this is incoming International calls. Hope this helps. If you are not expecting an overseas call just ignore the call...either someone has misdialed or someone is randomly calling state side phone numbers to attempt a scam....ie Nigerian or Russian scams.

I just received a phone call from this number.  It was the automated message center from my child's school.  I did not pick up but my auto answering machine accepted the phone number.  For my business we have a company we use to make automatic phone calls as reminders.  We just type in the necessary phone numbers, record the message, and then send it out for 10 cents per call.  This must be the "home base" number for this service.  I too saw it listed for "International" so I didn't pick up.

I got a call from 214-586-0999 on my cell phone (AT&T) while I was on vacation.  Since I didnt know the number I didn't answer.  This happened about 4 days ago.  I just barely got around to calling it back, and I got techno music that I listened to for about 2 minutes then it was dead air on the line.  I hung up after a couple minutes of dead air.  6 and half minutes total time on the call.  I don't know who the number belongs to, I just googled it and got this site about it.  Any info from anyone is greatly appreciated.  staryblaze@aol.com

this is freaking funny....i donno y those fools always call me in the middle of the nights like 1.30 am......dumbasses to the core!!!when i tried to reach them again the same 'ol techno music...kinda cool though....

Received a call on Weds at 8:28pm from 214-586-0999.  The following pre-recorded message was left on my voice mail service:

"Hello, this is Heather at Account Services - and we're calling in reference to your current credit card accounts - there's no problems currently with your accounts - it is urgent however that you connect us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rates - your eligibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice.  Please press 1 now on your phone to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rates or press 2 to discontinue further notices. Thank you and have a great day."
