Rcvd a call and when someone finally said something...it was for govt. grants.

I received a call from this number, and I ignored it. They left me a voicemail saying that if I my car was still for sale, and I wanted to get top dollar to call them back. Sounds like a scam to me!

If you called the 2148440000 number and got time and temp, and waited for a while, you would get dial tone back.  This was BOA's dial tone from their pbx.  If you then dialed out, the number you called would gat the caller ID from BOA saying they were getting the call from 2148440000.  Kids used this to prank call a lot.  I think the BOA number in Dallas has now been changed because of this, or could be that they just got a new PBX.  As much as I dislike BOA, It was not actually them that was making the outgoing calls.

Bank of America (and its many predecessors including Nations Bank, NCNB, First Republic, and Republic National -- plus several more I've forgotten) has provided the Dalla area free time and temperature reports at 214-844-nnnn and 972-844-nnnn since I was but a wee tot (and I'm 76). I've noticed lately that they're not answering calls for T&T, and I wondered why. Sounds like someone has highjacked their phone number, doesn't it? So far as I know, their T&T machine(s) is incoming only -- and not capable of making outgoing calls.

I get the same "last chance to save money on your credit card" type messages, but they're not from the B/A T&T number.

Incidentally, the "nnnn" in the numbers above mean that you can call any number from 0000 to 9999 on either area code and reach T&T (well, until recently).

I didn't recognize the number so let it go to vm, it was a little girl asking me to call her back but I could not really understand her. But you could barely hear a woman in the background telling her what to say.

This is sad.  Bank of America is supposed to be a reputable company. I had one of their 2pt. font privacy memos come with my last statement, on the back it had all these 3rd party companies that are "linked" with them.  

That's one of the 1000's of reasons you can't fight them, all the people in the shadows doing their dirty work.

It makes me mad.  

One more thing, Caller ID has been around for a LONG time and should be way more advanced by now.  If you have business license, who in the hell is checking up on these people as they establish phone services.  Should I start my own "business" and have it come up on people's ID as:  Local Hospital, or Poison Control, so parents can throw a heart attack when the phone rings?!?!  I don't get it.

Really odd. I just got a call from this number and it was a buddy of mine calling from his car. I can't explain that. I did not try calling it back.

I got this call, but didn't answer it.  I don't answer any calls I don't recognize, since many of these telemarketers will keep calling you over and over if you answer.  Better safe than sorry.  Check these sites first.

However, I can add information to this group.  I got a call from "1506225759" just 20 seconds before this call.  Yep, it's missing a final digit.

I suspect that someone is calling from outside the United States and masking the call with an id of "214-844-0000".  I checked 506-225-759X and came up with numbers in Costa Rica and Panama.

It's probably a phishing call, so please beware.

Calls come in from this number but, no one is ever on the line when we answer!! It's annoying!

File a complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and/or http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm .  If nothing else, should these scumbags ever be prosecuted, there can be a record of complaints.  Takes just a couple of minutes.

Looks like a scam to me. The BOA number on the caller ID is obviously faked. They're just phishing for credit card numbers. Beware.

Oh yeah...and when I called the number I got a message about the time and temperature too!

I just got a call from the same number...it's 9pm here! I'm usually in bed by now. I don't usually ignore calls from strange numbers and don't think I am on any "do not call" registry...I am my own Do not call registry. Usually I answer and after I have to say hello the second time, I know it's a "cold call". I usually catch them off guard by hitting them hard and fast with several questions especially when I know I didn't have an account with the caller, I either demand a supervisor or send them to hell by telling them to take me out of their computer. It has worked so far on about 85% of the cold calling A$$hole$ and the number of calls from anyone like that has dropped dramatically!

The recorded message tells me it's my last chance to reduce my interest rate on my CC. I pressed 1 and the guy asks me to verify my name and phone number. I asked him what credit card and he says Mastercard (ah ha...I only have Visa!) So I ask which one? He again requests I verify my name and number. I verify my name and ask him again which card. He repeats his request for me to verify my phone number. I told him, "no I won't verify it, you already have it...now, which card?" He repeated his request again for the phone number and I hung up.

I'm sure they will call again and I will have to THEN send them to hell as I usually do. Right before that though, I will let them know that I will report them to the States Attorney General...they hate that!

Bank of America b*****ds.  They called me too on my cell phone, no answer, just hung up.

I pressed 1, also, just so I could talk to a live person and tell them to take me off their list.  Especially since the call came through on my cell phone.  I got to the live person, who answered, "Card Services."  I said, "Who are you?" and he hung up.

Same as annoyed, B o A time and temp when I called back. I am on the do not call registry.

Like Tekky...I too got the call from this number... pressed one for the live operator and told her (as this was like the 50th call) to take me off their
list.  Her response to me was... verbatim... "Fat F***ing Chance A**ho**
and even reporting this number to the Do Not Call registry doesn't seem
to get me anywhere!

just received a call from this number, a recording came on telling me that this is my final chance to receive a break on my interest rates.  I pressed 1 to get a live person.  The operator said she was from "Financial Services" and asked for my name and number to verify and gain access into their database.  I refused to give details and continued to question who she worked for.  

The more I challenged her, the more she hid behind the symantics of "she didn't call me".  I got a little angry and raised my voice.  She then hung up.

BofA like many of the other callers.  They called me in the 650 area code about 10 times today.

I am not a BofA member and I received the same call. They called me all day sometimes up to 6 times in a row. It was pretty funny...and then annoying. I also got a really odd number 2348070509239. Not sure if that is some *82 crap or something.

recalled this number and got bank of america time and temperature service.  very annoyed as we are first of all not BOA customers, and second of all, we are across the world in different time zone 12 hours off of Dallas (where the call came from), but with vonage service we brought our american phone number here, and we are getting phone calls from businesses in the middle of the night, waking us constantly.

ANSWERED PHONE AND NO ONE WAS THERE.  THEN IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE HUNG UP.  RECEIVED THIS CALL AT 2100 HRS.  CALLER ID SHOWED THAT IT WAS FROM TEXAS.

At least my call came in during the afternoon, but at work after I forgot to turn my ringer off!  Didn't check if it was B of A, but I may close my account when I verify that it is!

I too received this call exactly at 6:30 AM yesterday and today. I called back and it Bank of America Time and temperature service. The call comes in and disconnects after 2 rings.

called my cell and hung up and i called back it was a bank of america recording just like Annoyed

They called my cell phone. I said hello twice they just hung up. When I called back I got some recording that told me about Bank of America checking, then told me the time and the weather.

The person claimed to be from Victorville,gave this number out,(760)247-7805,requested my number and then called from the above (214) number.
