We receive calls from Homecomings Financial from the the following TWO #s:
214-874-2992 & 214-874-2886.
2/13/08 4:15pm: I called the -2992 number, and rather than entering an account or ss# (don't have an acct # & there's no way I'd provide my ss#!), or pressing "0" or anything - I just waited, & after 2-3mins, "Mary Beatrice" answered. She said she had our phone # listed to someone other than either my husband or myself. I explained my husband had owned that phone # for the last 25 years. "Mary Beatrice" assured me our # would be removed from their caller database.
...we'll see....

1-800-799-9250. I sujest you call it 10 time a day till you get what you want.
If you go to their web site on click on and off of it, this cost them money every click. If i have to put up with their harasment I'm going to cost them

I get two to three calls a day from each number 214-874-2866 and 214-874-2992, now they are trying with voice mail. I don't open either or reply. They will not delete you number, until you giv ethem your SS#. this is a scam to get your information.

I'm shoving the mortgage down their throats. If a real person would call I would tell them that, politely. Instead they call and put me on hold, WTF?

We repeatedly get calls from this number at all times during the week including Saturday and sundays. Neither I nor my wife have ever done business with this company and wish the calls would stop. I have placed our numbers on the no-call list but that doesn't seem to help.

A good place to file a complaint is with the Federal Communications Commission. The rules they govern are stricter. I believe it is complaint # 1088
FCC doesn't mess with complaints; and my complaints in the past have always been investigated!!!
FTC and donotcall, place complaints on a list, and will investigate, file charges if they see a pattern. So everyone needs to file complaints, so that there will be a definite pattern!.
Anyone have problems with Collection Agencies calling? There are laws to protect Consumers from these jerks. #1, they technically do not have any authority. They usually purchase charged off bills, from other creditors for pennies on the dollar. #2, because the bill is with an original creditor, you are NOT obligated to these jerks. They will try to convince you that you are. #3 the only way you become obligated to these agencies, is if you make payment arrangements with them; thereby creating a contract/agreement, where none exist, when they first contact you!!!
If you answer the phone, simply say:"I do not discuss financial matters by phone - send me a statement in writing and I will respond to it." Then Hang up!!! Otherwise, they will have you completely shaken!!! The longer they keep you on the line, the more chance they have, to get money from you including payment arrangements ? or payment agreement/contract!!! You are NOT legally obligated to talk to them!!!
Collection agencies are ruthless jerks!!! They will tell you they are the original creditor when they are not - even though it is illegal, for them to do it, per Federal Consumer Protection Laws. You can legally sue them for $1,000.00 per violation.
When you do get a statement - google "FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT" One or more online Attorney websites will be shown. These websites will have valuable information, including a Cease & Desist sample letter; or a Cease Communication letter. Once received, it is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to contact you further.
You can also educate yourself by reading Consumer Protection Laws at www.ftc.gov; a lot of valuable information. Don?t have time, download and read later. You will be glad you did!!!
I am not an Attorney - just an Educated Consumer, in Consumer Protection Laws. I have spent hours studying these laws and becoming familiar with them. They have helped us and friends/family as well; and hopefully it will help someone, who reads this.
And for those self-righteous criticizers, who say, just pay your bills on time; things happen to people with Credit Card debt, medical bills etc., often beyond their control such as job loss, divorce, death, illness etc. and you find your self in a bind. We've been there, we know. You do not plan to pay late, or not make payments; but if the income quits - there's not a whole lot one can do! You then are forced to prioritize, Mortgage, Utilities, Car payment then food, if you can! Other things have to be let go!
I hope this information will be helpful to somebody who reads it!!! Also another site to check out is www.ccdnlaw.com, good information. And they can help you!!! If you fill out the contact us, put down your referral by tlcpetmommy ? in the comments section; they will know who I am!!!

Yea if its Homecomings then you might need to do what I did today. Pay the mortgage. Haha! I am about 2 weeks late and thats why they called. They have a different number for sales. I didn't answer the phone but if its Homecomings then it must be the late bill.

Numberous and repeated calls to this number that is on the do not call list asking for a David. They are told that there is no one here by that name and to quit calling. I have had this number for over 5 years. I am a totally disabled and elderly person and get calls fron 6 am to 10 pm. When you challege them they just hang up and call again, often several times in the same day.

Have had a few calls from this number to my cell phone that I have missed and no message was left. I called back and all it says is "Default Division". When I finally got through the automated system, it turned out to be Homecomings Financial.

Stupid agent call me and hung up when I picked up. Then I call back and they said they just did a courtesy call to let me know that my 2nd mortgage paymnet was due in 2 weeks.
looks like they are out of their %^&^&* mind.

I made payments to my 2nd mortgage on time for more than 2 years then for some reason Homecomings Financial had a glitch and said I missed 2 payments when my bank shows the payments cleared. Those a-holes referred me to collection agency even though I showed them proof of payment. To make things worse, I am getting illegal calls at 5:49 AM and 7:49 AM when federal law does not allow calls before 8:00 AM. I even called them to let them know that I am disputing the collections and to take me off their phone list. I also instructed them not to call me before 8 AM PST. The guy was belligerent saying that the calls are automatic and he can't do anything-- yeah, right I never heard anyone can't put a hold on my account until it's straightened out or set the time frame which they can make the calls. Homecomings needs to use a more considerate collections agency.
