Sounds like they listened to you?I got a call from a 646 area code today asking me to pay or I will go to jail.

Left a message stating that it was a legal matter and to call back ASAP involving the government. Called back the same number and box was full. Received a call from an Officer Jordan Lopez stating that it was a legal matter and to call back asap at 215-277-2131. Upon calling he stated that I was deceiving the government and defrauding IRS and that I will be arrested by the US Marshalls. He was very rude and stated that I was going to be deported to Saudia Arabia to a Sheikh I belong too . I'm an American. I reported the incident and was informed its a SCAM.

Just got three calls one after another from an individual in heavy Indian accent stating that I have three criminal charges against me and need to call this number asap.  I am pretty sure it's a scam.  Specially issues of this nature are usually sent by a warrant officer to your home/business and not by a phone call.  

This call sounds illegal, but will leave it up to the Feds to decide.

This number left a message with 3 Federal investigations against me based on some complaints and claiming to be some sort of investigation officer. It was Indian or similar accent. The same as all other reports here. At least could have a left a little more professional sounding message:)

I got a call from them today about important legal matter from federal crime investigation (he said). Sounded Nigerian to me. I was sure this was a scam, especially since there is no such agency and with the govt shut down, fed agents have other things to cover.

This person called and told my friend that she had two legal problems and if she didn't call back they will take legal action.

We advised them to simply ignore the call. The telephone is even spoofed number.

got call from this three times. Says call from FBI. The samer gets your information from some where and try to fool us.

Got the same call, left a msg about allegations against my name.... I just got on web,and found this thread! Thanks for recording the scammers here...

Received phone call from this number. Claimed the person was from Federal criminal dept. Conversation was similar to those posted above. When asked to mail hard copy of the charges, the person disconnected. It is good that people post their experience with this scam and the concerned phone number.

Got a call on landline about 3 federal charges and the caller is an "officer". of some sort. This is the most aggressive call we have received, ever. When we called back thinking it may be a case of an identity theft they immediately asked for money and we hung up at that time. We are of Indian origin and I have a feeling they are picking up Indian or other ethnic names, and if anyone actually has a collection issue then they can get easily convinced and scammed out here. This is a great site and I will check here and report here any future calls of this type.

I got a similar call to my land line.  When I called back, a man claims that he is an investigating officer.  He has asked me to pay $1080.10 for financial form 61 violation.  Otherwise he has threatened that the case will go to court then it costs more than $30,000 and possible deportation.  I just ignored that guy and hung up.

I also received the voice mail on my phone from same number 215-259-4143. I am filing a police complaint about it. This is ridiculous.

I got a similar message on my answering machine.  He claimed to be "Officer  Walton" from Federal Crime department and that there I need to call him immediately.  He even left the number and repeated.  He had heavy middle eastern accent.  I called back on this number asking for more details and he asked my name.  I refused and asked who they are.  He realized I knew he was a scammer and hung up.

There is no way the Do Not Call system can work against scammers,  scofflaws or anyone else who dials a number.  The Do Not Call registry was not set up to handle what everyone thinks it is supposed to do.
It has one intended purpose that it was set up for and does.   The FTC set it up to create and maintain a list of those who do not want to receiving Telephone Sales calls.    (Telemarketing is  defined by the FTC as Telephone sales of products or services)    This list is maintained by the FTC and is required to be purchased by Legitimate and Registered with the FTC Businesses and updated monthly.  It is just a list.
It is not an army of government employees or a Mechanical super computer,  and does not monitor,  screen,  or block any calls.  It is just a List to limit Telephone Sales to those who are on it..   The FTC only accepts complaints against those Telemarketers on the list who violate it.  Unless you are a business registered with the FTC,  you can't purchase this list.  There are other avenues of complaining for other lawful violations.  The DNC  was just not set up to do all of the magical and mythical things that so many think it was put there to do.

He left a message for me today on my land line and threatening me that there are charges against me ,when I called back there was no answer...........tanks for posting this useful info to protect our self from these thugs.

this is FAKE, they're targeting the elderly and indians or middle eastern people. They say they're from the irs and you havent paid your taxes and they're going to arrest you or they're some law enforcement agency and you have warrants and they will arrest you if you don't pay x-amount of dollars. Once again, big scam! you can call your local police dept, but there is very little they will be able to do since the phone numbers are fake. Do not give these scamers ANY personal information.

Contact the real IRS for the ones claiming they are IRS..

These are a bunch of charlatans. The best would be to block them, or have fun with them and talk to them in the same accent as they talk to you, and turn the table around and mock them. They bad mouth you, but you can listen and laugh at their stupidity.

I have been getting harassing calls from 215-259-4143. The callers have heavy accents (I think it is "Indian"). They claim to be some sort of officers of the law, and claim there are 3 indictments against my identity including fraudulent TAX reporting by me to IRS. They say they would send the cops, U.S Marshal after me unless I listen to their demands and how I can avoid the arrest!

These people are in Hartboro PA. File a compliant of impersonating a law enforcement officer, I did....keep these people within their limits

I just got the same scam call from 215 259 4143. The guys name was Brett Parker, 100% american accent.

I received call from this no today at 1.00 p.m saying that 3charges against me and arrest war rent is issued. Thank God I found this site.  They are still in business Beware..

These are a bunch of charlatans. The best is to call them back (make sure to call as unknown - dial *67). And have fun with them mocking them.
These are either the most idiots on the planet with their heavy Indian accents, or simply imbeciles. I told them to do a google search first on their number before calling and at least try to call from a different number. So they may listen and do so.

But regardless, if you ever get any call from anyone who claims to what these people claim, just hang up on them, and report them to the police. And if you have time, just call them back (predialing *67 so your number is not shown to their caller id), and have fun with them. Make fun of their accents and talk just like them.

I got a call from 2152594143 today and a voice mail saying that my ID was under investigation. I searched the number online and found this thread. I'm glad I found out that it was a scam.

I just got a call from this same number. The caller left a voicemail in heavy Spanish accent about some charges pending against. Thanks to this thread, we are all informed now about the scams.

I received a call from  914 343 1704, saying that arrest warrant have been issued for tax default. The number that they gave to call back is 215 259 4143. Yesterday one person called from 206 497 8489, and said that we have to pay $3000 to IRS or we can settle this outside the court. They talk in very professional manner and talk about the regulations. Good to know that all scam

LOL just called them and told them that they are under investigation for giving out false info and that they are under federal investigation and will be shut down within a week! They called me within a minute of me hanging up!

Received the same call twice today! I cant believe that people fall for this or at the very least wouldn't even make sure it's not a scam before paying! Happy to see that none of you were scammed but am sad that many will be fooled! i guess it's true what they say a fool and his money soon part ways!

I got the call few minutes ago and the call back number given to me was 215-259-4143 and name was Neil watson.  Guys had a thick Indian accent and was telling me that some one stole my identity and because of that I have four criminal charges pending on me I need to call that number immediately.  Thanks to everyone who posted before me I can rest easy.

I got a similar message on my land line phone, asking me to call and threatening serious consequences as I had ignored their earlier calls. When I called them, a woman claiming to be an officer said there were four IRS charges against me and that I must pay $4,865,33. If I don't pay, then my file will be closed and my US passport will be cancelled, my citizenship will annulled, and a black mark would be put on my name on all credit reporting agencies. When I demanded documentation  on the IRS charges, she said she had the IRS notification of my non-payment of due taxes, she said she cannot do what I asked for, and if I refuse to pay then I would be  in serious  trouble. Then she hung up on me. I called the local police in the matter. They thought it was a scam, likely b people outside USA, and difficult to catch, but I could file a formal report with the police.
