Similar to all of the above from 215-475-5478 and called the 877 # recommended by David, above.
I was told I'd be taken off the list and that my account wouldn't be charged; WHAT ACCOUNT? For what it might be worth, I asked for a confirmation # and was given one -- but only after I finally gave in and gave them my title (Goddess). Now we'll just see if the calls stop.
This is their web site: http://search-green.net/web/home.asp. It makes NO SENSE at all.
Such a scam.

I don't pick up the home phone unless I know the number that's calling. This number has kept calling for the last 3-1/2 hours every five minutes, and of course doesn't leave a message.

I got a call earlier this evening from a company called "Green Certification" with the number 215-475-5149 and really tore into the Indian-sounding man trying to get info out of me. Then I looked at past calls in the last week after reading comments here to find they've been calling numerous times a day but with a different last four number....215-475----.

This company keeps calling me to update my listing. After I up date the information they switch me to a "supervisor" to verify the update information. I hung up on them the first time after they were supposed to transfer me. They kept calling me and I would hang up. They called today and asked me not to hang up, they just wanted to update my listing. I was transferred to a "supervisor" who would verify my information. I refused to give them my last name a bunch of times, giving them just my last initial, but they said I had to give my last name. They have recorded questions that ask yes or no questions and the supervisor says he will push the # key after my answers. When the recording starts telling a bunch of info (maybe about charges to your phone bill) the supervisor is shouting over it telling you to have your paper handy to write the toll free number down. The company was called "Green Certification." The number they give to call is 877-640-5958

These idiots have call me 8 times this week. I'm with Alice, go to the DO NO CALL REGISTRY and report them.
BTW, when you file a DBA in California, do not use a real phone number on the paperwork if you work at home. These are public record and scammers use the Fictitious Business Name database to get your number harass you with telemarketing calls. I've been getting calls for 12 years!

Have had several calls from them last week or so.The hard to understand lady said if I hung up when she transfered me to her quality supervisior they would just keep calling back. I told her to remove my number from her list then hung up. Yep there still calling our number. I filed complaint with do not call registry.

This is a scam -- the giveaway is that they keep calling after being told that you are not interested. No legitimate company would do that. They are hoping that someone else will pick up the phone who might go along with it. There are many groups doing this, using various names for their online directories. If anyone calls you about an online directory listing, assume it's a scam.
The con comes when they transfer you to someone to "verify" the information. Then they phrase the questions in a deliberately deceptive way to get you to agree to some service which will be billed along with your monthly phone bill, or they edit your answers into a recording to make it appear that you have agreed. (Tip: never answer "yes" to any question. It might be edited into a bogus recording.) The service itself may be legitimate, but the tactics used by the scam artists at the call centers are not. They target businesses because a business may not notice the charge for months (or longer), by which time the call center has been paid for signing up the new client.
Check with your phone company and see if they will allow you to block all third-party billing on your account -- Verizon, for instance, will do this. This will prevent anyone from adding a service to your phone bill without it first being verified by you.

Well, guess we arent the only ones who got calls from this number. Somewhere in Pennsylvania according to Caller ID. The first time I answered the call. A woman who had great difficulty speaking English asked for our information to update our online address. I said Hey, you can't even speak English properly and I am NOT interested in buying anything so leave me alone. and I hung up.

Wow! Too many complaints about this number. I thought I was the only one being harrased but reading the posts I found out I'm not the only one. I received one call two days ago and they wanted to verify our business address and I asked them why do they need it and the person (with a very heavy accent) told me that this helps people to find us. I asked if there was a charge for this because I have no authorization as I am only the receptionist and she said that this is a free service. They seemed to have our address in file but they wanted me to confirm it and I did but I omitted our Suite No. and then when she transfered me to her supervisor to verify the information, I decided to hang up because I could not understand a single word she was saying because she also had a very heavy accent. Today (two days later) they called again and I recognized the number so I let it go to voice mail and they left no message. I'm sure they'll be calling again in a couple of days so I will set up their call on a conference call with the time and temperature phone line in Dallas, TX (214-787-1111). LOL!

I just called the 877 number explained I am beyond frustrated & that the next phone call I receievd I would be looking into taking care of the situation with the authorities. I asked where they were located he "Clifford" who really sounded like a Clifford said "offshore" I explained we do not conduct business in the manner in which his company does and I demanded he cease calling.

Yes, this happened to me as well! They pressured me in to saying yes because they said they were just updating a directory of phone numbers? So I verified our address/phone number and gave them my name. But after I finished talking to the woman I realized I had completely been scammed. I didn't agree to sign up for anything and they said there were no charges/fees but I do fear this will be coming up on my telephone bill. I will try to call and terminate all services but any other ideas?
David 2011-05-10 21:01:22 Unknown
ah yes this is somewhat of a scam. They are GREEN CERTIFICATION. They say it is free but in the end you will pay $49.95 per month. the number you need to call is 1-877-640-5958 go to billing and have them remove you from their call list let them know that you are on to them give them only your phone # (since they already have it) NO OTHER INFORMATION be persistant tell them to terminate any thing you may have signed up for and to remove you from their list and to never call again. I have just done this so I can not verify that it has worked but It has given me peace of mind for the time being. I hopes this helps

I'm with you all as well. We are having the same calls and they do not back off when told "NO". Today I talked to our state's attorney generals office and filed a complaint. I also found out other complaints have already been filed against this company, so I urge you all to do the same. Hopefully it will put a stop to the harassment.
Bonnie 2011-05-10 14:38:54 Unknown
ALL of the above complaints and then some! They call all hours of the day-4-10 times a day, different numbers, always people who you can't understand and they NEVER stop calling no matter how many times they are told that it isn't a business number or we are not interested, we don't want to give information over the phone, please stop calling, take us off the call list - NOTHING stops these people! I finally hauled off and used 4 letter expletives and told them to leave me ALONE and guess what? The guy called back from a number on caller I.D. that said 'unavailable' and when I told him I have asked over and over to be taken off the call list he said 'who f***ing cares' !! I hung up, yet once again. I was told by the phone company to get a phone trap and log the calls when they come in. Does anyone know if overseas companies like this can be stopped?
WHAT MORONS! What's the point of harassing so many people? No money in it!!!

Has anyone gotten charged for long distance calls? I'm concerned now that I didn't hang up quick enough and they somehow transferred billing to my number.
I did find another note online about how to mop up such a situation at http://www.ehow.com/how_4850999_protect-thirdparty-charges-phone-bill.html
ugh. not what I wanted to do tonight.
I have this awful feeling this is a scam and I've been recorded and now I'm going to be hassling it out with my phone company.

This morning I received this call and the caller introduced himself as Kevin. He wanted to update our company Directory for no charge. I mentioned that we do research ina hospital but he insisted that I speak to the quality control manager Andy. I told the same and they kept on saying its for no cahrge and we are just verifying. He wanted me to answer to the machine then I hung up. He called again and was dictating me what i need to say so... I just hung up and he kept redialing my number several times. I told my colleagues to ignore the call as i could see their number in our caller ID. I googled their number and found the posts and learned that its not just me there are many out there who are being harassed by the staff with this number. I will complain to the FTC agency right now.
Sick of these idiotic calls 2011-05-09 17:44:21 Telemarketer
We've been getting these calls 3-4 times daily for the last several weeks. The people calling can barely speak intelligibly--I have no idea what they are calling for or who they are, but the 2-second delay indicates a call center, and they are selling something. We're on the Do Not Call List, so they are clearly not paying attention to it. On the last call, it sounded like the call was being recorded...
Alice 2011-05-09 14:47:29 Telemarketer
Go to the DO NO CALL REGISTRY and send a complain abouth this phone No. While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint will help the agency investigate the company, and could lead to law enforcement action. And I think if the most of us fill a complaint the more the FTC agency will be aware of the problem. And never, but never let this people have your personal information trhough their recording system

Had 7 calls from this number today between 12;30 and 7:00 PM. wanting to verify business info. I politely declined the first time and let the answering machine pick up after that. They seem to be playing the harassment game. I've noticed that usually after i get these calls I will receive one of those fake phone directory bills in the mail......we'll see.

These people called the other day and said they wanted to verify business information. I asked where they were calling from and they said "searchgreen.net". I looked it up and there is "searchgreen.net" and "search-green.net" so I'm not sure exactly which one they are. On 5/3/11, I told them to not call us again. The office was closed for a few days but when I got back in today, I checked the caller ID and saw that they had called four more times. They never left a message. This afternoon they called again and I went ballistic on them telling them that I had already asked them not to call again and that I was reporting them to the FCC.
