CALLED MY BUSINESS TODAY, ASKED IF I WAS THE ONE IN CHARGE OF MY AT&T ACCOUNT. I ASKED WHO IS THIS AND THEY ASKED ME IS THIS "$%^&*" (MY NAME) AND I ANSWERED YES, WHO IS THIS... AND THEN THEY HUNG UP. ON A CALL BACK A COMPANY IDENTIFYING ITSELF "CORPORATE OFFICE" VOICEMAIL ANSWERED. I CALLED AT&T AND ADVISED THEM THEY ARE MISLEADING PEOPLE BY IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES AS AT&T. AT&T OWNS ALL THE MAJOR TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANY I'M SURE THEY WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS. AT&T NEEDS TO ADAPT AN IGNORE LIST LIKE INTERNET MESSENGER.

They've called several times today -- I've answered each time with the company name, to no answer. Very disruptive to a corporate environment! You'd better believe that I won't be doing any business with them.
Aubrey 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
They call our business line several times a week, but there is never any answer when I pick up. I called the number back previously and got a full mailbox. However, today when I called I got a person, and gave them my number to put on their DO NOT CALL list. We'll see if it works...these jokers are driving me crazy!!!
April 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
They call at least twice a day. Hang up when I answer.

Just received a call from 215-525-6561, answered with company name, nobody there. This seems to be a very quickly growing trend of telemarketers calling business numbers with automated messages. Very annoying and disruptive.
What the heck was the do not call list for if they let you sign up a business number for the list but then tell you that there is nothing that they can do about this type of call?
Company 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
Called earlier to find out manager that controls our phone service. Called again and hung up. Some of these class-action lawsuit lawyers ought to go after the telemarketing business!! They can use these websites for databases- SEE THIS WEBSITE OWNER- IDEA FOR MONETIZING YOUR SITE!
Uber-annoyed 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
Same as the others. Is there nothing we can do to stop this ??!??!
anonymous 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
They call several times a day, always hang up. Where can you report this?
MZ 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
They call me just about everyday...never leave a message on the voicemail and always hang up when I start speaking.
small business 2011-06-06 20:43:35 Unknown
Hang up as soon as answered. Callback and mail bx is full. Would like to know how to get this number blocked.

We (at work) get several calls a day.......very irratating. We answer, no one is there! I have called 1 215 525 6561 and get either a full mail box or a voice message. I have left messages to stop calling. The phone rang just now. It is a goooooofy message about retirement income. I am letting it play. This is like some wierd movie.
Please make them stop. Arrrrrrhhhh

They have just started calling me. No one there when I pick up. Good to find some information is out there about them.
A formal request, in writing with cc to the AG's office, to be removed from their calling list...sent to their headquarters or something?
JESS 2008-07-08 23:02:07 Unknown
215-525-6561 These people keep calling, I do not answer. How do I report them, being that I am on the do not call list?
Maria in IL 2008-07-08 19:24:35 Telemarketer
These people have been calling me multiple times a day at work. It's always their predictive dialers since no person has ever picked up. If anyone has had the calls stop after contacting the company please let us know.
Mr & Mrs 2008-07-07 17:55:45 Unknown
Çalls at least once a day. Rings and leaves no message.
Marcel 2008-07-03 21:22:13 Telemarketer
THESE PEOPLE CALL E V E R Y day!!! Today twice! I'm on the do not call list - I have carefully explained they will NEVER sell me ANYthing. I have requested, demanded, begged to be removed from their list. Why do they have all the rights and we can't protect ourselves from out and out harassment....plus - they use OUR phone line to try and sell their product. If anyone has an answer, count me in. I'd love to hang these people with my own phone cord!!!!

Media contacts
All media inquiries should be directed to:
I decided to look up Birch Telecom and found a site for Birch Communications. I figured that customer service would hand me a line of bull, and their legal dept. would probably hang up on me, so I called their media contact.
Greg Corwin

Now i do want to say that Mr. Corwin was very polite when I spoke to him, and very sorry that we have been bothered. He promised that the calls would stop. We will see. I told him that on this site I read some entries from people that have been told the same thing, and yet the calls keep coming.
He said that this is unacceptable, and if it is one of their custormers they will be disciplined, and he will call me back and let me know what he has found out. I will post the information if he does call back.

Betty 2008-06-24 20:17:39 Unknown
This company has called several times. Each time I answered they hung up. I am on the do not call registry.
BUSY BUSINESS 2008-06-20 15:39:04 Unknown
We have received numerous calls from this phone number every day more than once where no one is there they just hang up as soon as you finish the greeting. Finally today someone spoke and when I asked them to remove us because of the hang up calls, they just hung up.

You are correct that if you use Birch, or any CLEC, you are no longer AT&T's customer. At that point, Birch is AT&T's customer. The down side is as you stated, you cannot call AT&T directly to resolve your issue. The up side, for most people, is that CLECs have people that understand how the technology works. They have access to test the circuits and determine what the problem is rather than blindly trust AT&T.
The offices are linked in that the offices of the company that they hire to do the telemarketing are linked, but they are not linked to Birch's system. Birch doesn't have 500 employees. How can they have 500 offices?
Birch is probably unaware that this is happening.
As for everyone that says "I'm on the do not call list". I too am on that list, but unfortunately the list does not apply to phone companies. This is something that should be voiced to the state legislature.
I agree that predictive dialing should be illegal. It is not only a pain in the a** for us, it takes jobs that are needed in this country.
