Same story, guy with heavy accent said there is something wrong with my computer.  I feel sorry for people who fall for this.  Someone needs to shut this down!

Got a call from this number this morning.  It was an Indian women who I could barely understand. She said she was calling me because they had received error messages from our windows computer. I said we don't have a windows computer and that we were a MAC household.  She started to get very cranky with me and said we are calling you because of these errors we received this morning from your windows computer.  I then stated that no one had been on our computer this morning. She got more cranky and I firmly said the only computer we have is a Mac Book Pro. She got very confused, mumbled something and hung up.  

I got the exact same type of call, also from a man with a strong Indian accent, and I immediately hung up on him after he asked to 'remotely access' my computer!

Same character with an Indian accent just called me saying he was from Microsoft IT Dept. I told him "why are you calling me on Thanksgiving when we are sitting down with family about to eat the turkey? He said because the problem was so serious I should get up from the table to work on it with him now.  What a jerk - hung up on him. Beware people...Where is Interpol when you need them?

Has been calling here for past 4 days sometimes more than once.  We never answer and they hang up before leaving message.

I received a call from this number last evening asking for the man of the house. I knew as soon as the guy spoke in Indian that it was BS & told him we weren't interested. Then this morning he called again asking for the man of the house regarding our computer. This time I wasn't so nice about it & hung up. The number actually called back a 1/2 hr later but only rang twice before I got to it.  I know enough to know its a scam nobody is going to call me about my computer especially when it never reported a problem but people need to be aware.

Just spent ten minutes with a person from the phone number 215-894-3468. In a thick Indian accent, they told me they had monitored my computer and it had been compromised. They said they were with Microsoft support. I played along. They told me to look for the "Start" in the lower left side of my screen. I told them I didn't have one. They old me to look for the "flag" and the "r" keys on the keyboard and to press them together. I played so dumb they must have been laughing at me. I told them I did it. They said to type eventvwr and then click "OK". I told them I did it. They didn't believe me. They asked me what I saw. I told them what I saw (because I know what it brings up). They told me to click on "Applications". I kept following along. I could hear someone coaching the guy on the phone. I occasionally asked them things like "why can't you see what's on my screen right now?", "how do you know my computer is infected?", "how do you monitor my computer?". I deserve an Academy Award. Once or twice I could hear these morons laughing at me. It was too much fun. After a while, I finally said, "hey, I'm an IT manager" and told them I was on to their scheme. The guy on the phone started laughing hysterically and said I could shove my IT degree up my a$$. How's that for customer service? I think I need to call the Atty. General and share this information.

2 hang up calls to my answering machine within a short period of time.  I never pick up these kind of calls.  One more and I report them to the do not call list--which does help.

Caller ID show Pennsylvania

I received 2 calls today on my home from from 215-894-3468. The first call went to my voicemail but did not leave me a message. A few hours later, they called me again. I answered and said "hello" twice then the caller hung up on me. The caller ID said Cell Phone PA. When I immediately called the number back, I received a recording saying this number is not in service. Clearly this is some kind of false caller ID information and this is a scam. I read on another site that it is a guy from India trying to con people into going onto a fraudulent website that will likely install malware to steal your computer data. So if you do talk to anyone from this number, do NOT go to the website they tell you to. Just hang up.

I also called back the number and got same message. I used a (1) before prefix, but when I called the number without the 1 in front I got a message recorder with the name of Barbara.

Thought this was interesting I received yet another call from this number. Again an Indian voice sounding gentleman fist told me he was from windows IT department. Then he went into his ordeal of telling me about viral problems with my computer. So i asked him if he was from Microsoft or Windows he said no. So i replied with how can i trust you then. He then told me he was from the Applications and Services Department and that Microsoft never actually calls anybody. I said ok then I asked for his Employee ID number and a telephone number I could call to verify the Employee ID number. This is the number he gave me for the ID 1198 the Phone number 215-260-2478 and that his name was Alex Norris. So i called the number it rang several times then it eventually went to voice mail. the message recording was " Thank you calling 215-260-2478, This person is currently unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone."  Which leads me to believe that this is someones cell phone number and definitely not a business number.

My comment is the same as everyone else's comment, an Indian accented or Middle Eastern male voice. Telling me about errors and warnings that are making my computer run slow and that it could cause windows operating system to not function properly. Which i know is false since my computer is custom built and only a week ago i recently did a fresh format and install of windows 7 along with a new Hard drive and video card, also the number appeared on my caller ID as a PA Cell Phone. . He Claimed to be from Windows IT. So to entertain myself and see exactly what he wanted me to do i used an old paper weight laptop. He directed me to press the Windows key + R to bring up the "run" window then type in www.ammyy.com. then had me download/open the remote console program from ammyy.com then showed me some more stuff and told me the reason for and how we were going to fix these errors and warnings. afterwards he told me that i would have to purchase a one time/ lifetime application in order to fix everything. the price was $149.00 after he told me that i closed the program and hung up on him as for the laptop ill monitor it and see what happens, either way if hurts the laptop or not doesn't matter it was only collecting dust.

A male with a strong indian accent called, claiming that he works for Windows and receives an error message whenever I get online.  

Just like the above reports, an Indian-accented voice told me he was calling to fix my computer.  As I do not have a personal computer, I immediately realized that it was a scam, so I started playing with them.  I thanked him profusely for calling me to fix my computer and asked him if he needed my IPO address.  Naturally, he immediately said yes, so I told me to write it down carefully because it was complicated.  After having him wait 15 seconds, I let him know that my computer's IPO address was www.eatshitasshole.  He asked me if that was .com or .org.  By then my wife and I were laughing so hard we had to hang up.  Try that on anyone who call you with a scam.  It turns the tables on them and makes them waste time. :)

This number called me several times today.  THe first time I googled the number and so knew it was a scam the second time they called and told them so.  The third time when I asked the person what company they were calling from he told me it was about my windows program and no particular company and that "I needed to understand that"..  I told him I didn't need to  understand anything... he called me.  He told me to go to hell and hung up on me!  Can't wait for these idiots to call again!

I got a bunch of calls from these scammers. Since almost all of our customer service jobs and call center jobs have been outsourced to India, it is hard to tell what is legit and what is a scam. I stupidly allowed them to link with my computer, but I gave them no credit card info, or any user names, passwords, etc. I am now afraid to do anything, for fear that they are watching every keystroke. What can I do?

A good idea would be to call the Pa State Police. They can easily raid the culprit's address.
This person is collecting data for purposes of Identity theft.

I received a call from this number, the guy was trying to convince me he was from Microsoft and I have a serious viral infection on my computer. after leading me around looking at files on my computer he said I needed to go to www.ammyy.com, which is a site for setting up remote access. On Ammyy.com home page is a red warning statement about a scam that are people calling saying they are from ammyy or window's IT and do not download their program . I hung up after I told the guy ,well some not so nice things.   HANG UP ON THESE PEOPLE. It's a scam to get remote access to your computer, get a credit card  number or anything else they can get .
I was suspect from the beginning of this call and asked for his name , phone number, IP address which he answered with all phony information but it sounded good. This guy was very convincing do not be fooled.

I have two NIC card with reserved IP address an it reports a false positive in DHCP since I do not require an IP assignment and task scheduler has delay issues with two Microsoft tasks
They tried to convince me I had a serious problem and connect to their web site via windows search, Rule of thump never go to untrustworthy websites. This is  a scam to send you to a site with possible harmful code, viruses, malware, or hacking tools to steal your personal information.  There registration does not contain an owner and there registered from panama but their location is in India

Yep, me too, same spiel, big fishing, big scam. I will be submitting an F seat complaint, and everyone else should as well. This is not only fishing, it is clearly fraudulent and illegal, and just plain rude.
