Thank you....one minor correction though....He receives about 400 calls every DAY......his mailbox fills up quickly.....this is his business phone, so he doesn't want to give the number up because his clients and potential clients won't know how to reach him.....this has been a headache

Hey everyone....Bob is being "spoofed"   someone hacked his phone number and is using it as a call back number...We think that they are trying to get personal information from you by telling you that you have a virus in your computer.....Bob has contacted the police, and his carrier...but they are unable to assist in finding out who these people are....So please, this has nothing to do with Bob Cliver....he is a victim of someone's scam....

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information.
http://goo.gl/cdPm8O

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

Listed on display as 'Pennsylvania', and I only answered because I do have some relatives that live there.  Same thing, guy with a bad Indian accent, sounds like he's reading from a script. "I believe you are the primary owner of a Windows computer".  Ok, how would you even know that A) I have a computer; B) My computer runs Windows) and C) I am even the owner of such a computer when you haven't even asked me to verify my name?  Because I'm not stupid enough to fall for that.  I just said "I'm not interested in whatever you're selling" and hung up on him.

I just called the number back after 5 missed calls today, every two hours, and no voicemail. The number belongs to a man who's personal phone has been spoofed. He said that he receives around 300 calls each week from all over the country. He has notified verizon and the police, but since they can't track the actual phone number, not much can be done. We can help him by blocking the number, if possible. Keep an eye out on your cell bills as well to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to you!

Man with accent I could barely understand trying to get my to give info  for Microsoft and windows that the program had a virus. I told him I have 4 PC's, three laptops and several tablets.Which one has a problem? He kept saying the one with Microsoft and windows. So that's when I asked him if he needed to speak with my tech department (my husband..lol)? He hung up on me. I know better than to give that info. But had a little fun making him think he had me on the hook for a couple of minutes.

I received a call from this phone today at 7:57 a.m. A man with an Indian accent said he was calling about my computer. I asked him, "How do you know I have a computer?" He said, "OK. Thank you." and hung up.

These are computer hackers! Don't talk to them! They say they're calling about your computer, that you have a virus...want you to sit down and type things in so they can hack you. They called me twice today and I told them I don't have a computer! Ok, hang up they did. But they won't stop calling!

I received 3 calls from this number (215-896-3556) over the course of an hour.  Beginning at 8:45 AM, a male with a thick Indian accent claimed to be from "Windows" and indicated he needed access to my computer. No access was given of course but someone from this number called two more times within an hour per the caller ID on the phone. This appears to be a scam-do not fall for it!
Note-background noises heard on the call indicate a "boiler room" operation of some sort-likely a gang of crooks!

This number calls me every day, several times a day.  There is no one there when I pick up.  I called the number one day and got a voice mail for a Bob Kaiver (spelling?).  I left a message saying to stop calling, but the calls keep coming.

Got a call from this number tonight. Person got dodgy when I asked why Windows' (he would NOT say Microsoft) tech support would call me from a cell phone (comes up Wireless Caller on my caller ID). I asked, "If my computer is sending you all these error messages, then you would have some basic information from my Windows registration, correct?" He confirmed that he did indeed have it. I asked him to verify my name. He gave the wrong one. I hung up. Strong Indian accent confirmed. Don't fall for this scam!

This number called me three times today.  First time they just hung up.  Second time I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.  Third time I answered, and someone with a heavy accent started talking.  He said something about my computer, and straightaway I asked him what he was selling.  "Oh, no, no, we're not selling..."  Then he hung up.  Later I dialed the number back and got a answering service message with a proper male American accent.  I did not leave a message.  I will file a complaint with the FCC.

This guy has called our house 3 times in the last two days.  He said he was with AT&T and that he noticed some things wrong with our computer.  I hung up on him.  He called back that evening and asked for my husband by name.  I said he wasn't here and asked if I could help him (recognizing the number) he said no and he would call back and then he hung up.  Today he called again and our kids did not answer.  Unnerving that that he knows our name and keeps calling.  One of my neighbors works for the FBI, guess I'll be giving him this number to check out...

First, a woman called. Definite accent. Had to ask her to repeat several times. Then she turned me over to a man. Also an accent, but not so bad. Supposedly my computer needed cleaning because they could tell it was compromised. Why I went to my computer when he asked, I'll never know. When he insisted I buy security for 2 years at a cost of $90, I finally caught on. Did not give him any numbers. When I asked, one of them told me the company was Tech Yankee. My local police checked that out and that company was in Michigan. The phone said the call was from Pennsylvania, and the number was 215-896-3556, as I picked it off of my phone. Never again!

So glad to have a reporting site like this.  I NEVER answer numbers I do not recognize - particularly when they are not in my area code.  The postings here just confirmed what I already thought -scammers!

I don't answer strange numbers I don't know. I check on line . If they are legit, they will leave a message however I had some that leave a message and in the background you can tell it's like a call center; you can hear voices in the background .
