Yea this company is fraud its a company hiding behind another company offering equipment repair for free and they offer to re place your equipment for you if it ever goes bad I bought this plan all the did was told to me rest my equipment let it stay off for 15 seconds then plug it back in the told me to unplug my unit from the wall after I did this and was still having the problem they way for. Them to further assist me was to connect me to direct tv real techincal department whotold me i need a tech to come to my home it would be $69.50 I said OK cuz  I just bought a plan that would cover my cost for two years he then told me the plan I bought was use less cuz  there is no way another company can cover the charge at all they don't work with company to protect dtv equipment so the protection plan center is a lie once I called back no one answered and once they did told me I would be charged 4.99 a min to talk to a specialist over the phone I said I didn't care remove the charge from my card so basically this company is fake and finding behind another one to make these false transactions. Contacting a lawyer now I have all they're contact info address and phone number in the Cleveland area planon making a trip up there to see them personal anyone that get on this site to make positive messages are probably part of this company fighting to act like their real and ther'ye not in no type of way even they website talk about something completely different from what they tell you over the phone the website belongs to a different company who doesn't repair any satellite equipment..they are a scam and only other protection plan I see is for direct TV don't know who this company is to make transaction but it is a company lieing to offer more services that they don't know how to handling so they putt you on hold call your TV company and putt you on the line b***s*** .....I'm taking them to court if you want they info its real I check it out personal and found a better number to call as well didn't let them know it was a problem cuz  I don't want them to change they number or try and move but I'll be see them real soon they  Are in the Cleveland Ohio area..

you are an IDIOT!  they answer the phone..."directv".....they are not a part of directv....they get you to pay them for that 'protection' but it states on their automated message that they cannot access existing accounts, provide tech support, or talk about billing.  so, why would you pay for this 'protection' if they can't provide tech support in the first place?  you pay that fee for the WONDERFUL 2-3 years and then they transfer you to the real directv phone number.  they have nobody there that is tech support.  also, they say they close at 10pm eastern.  directv never closes.  so believe what you want to believe - it doesn't matter to me

first of all concerned person, all that you typed is a absolute lie...here is why i say this...1st, the company is a legit outfit, i needed tech support for my tv because it was down for two weeks, dtv wanted to come out after three days of complaining to them i, i stumbled on this number and the protection plan center was able to not only help me fix my issue, they also saved me a ton of money that i didn't even know that i was being charged...that's a true scam im 80yrs old and didn't even know that i had a protection plan with dtv, my bill was just going up without my knowledge, do you think they called to inform me about the charge? Hell no, instead even though im on a fixed income like a lot of people are, my bill increased dramatically each month...2nd, my bill is 8.00 cheaper each month now that i dropped dtv 's plan of so called protection...3rd, they disclose that they were not dtv and that they were a 3rd party warranty company that offers protection plans to customers who are not only looking to save money but to get real tech help, so i don't know where you get your facts from, but i and my people that i reffered are happy having this plan, i know its not a scam and i know what im saving each month by getting this plan....Best thing that ever happened to me!!!!!

also when they transfer you after paying that $79 fee or whatever the charge you.....they are transferring you to one of "their" techs which is then just dialing the real directv phone number.....they probably are staying on the line while you are talking to a real agent and can hear everything.  If you have gotten scammed - please report this to help it STOP and get these people locked up and thrown in JAIL !!!!

OK.  You are NOT being redirected.  These people have setup a phone number very similar to DirecTV.  The number is 800-831-5000.....the 8 is wrong and the number for DIRECTV is 800-531-5000.....see the difference?  just the ONE number difference from 831 to 531....people are dialing that one wrong number and getting connected to someone that does NOT work for directv and can NOT access your account.  They are getting you to pay for this BOGUS plan.  Directv does not get you to pay for their protection plan like that.  It is charged to your account monthly.  AND -- even if you don't have this protection on your system, directv will help you and will not FORCE you to buy it.
These crooks have cause headaches for a LOT of people.
I called them to see what was going on because I had heard about this going on.  Well, I cussed the guy out that kept transferring me back to him when I asked for supervisor.  Then he supposedly 'transferred' me to directv's real number 800-531-5000 --- so after a person has paid this so called hell of a deal for 2-3 years....they are transferring you to a real directv agent.
they gave me the website of www.protectionplancenter.com  -- EVERYONE look at this page!!!!  go through the links at the bottom such as about us, privacy policy, terms and conditions.....it's all fake....I am reporting this to the police and the FBI when I am done typing this out.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE DIALING THE RIGHT NUMBER

Just to let you know the protection plan center is a stand up company able to give you a cheaper warranty on your sat equipment including tech support and reads all callers a disclosure stating that your tv provider will not be able to see the plan you have purchased, as it is in their system, that is why the credit card co, and dtv have told you it is a lagit co. Keep in mind would you rather pay 96.00 per year for the same tech support you can get for 79.99, that covers you for 2 years, you do the math.so if you mis dialed the number, and are able to save money at the same time, that workes in your Faver. 8 dollars per month adds up to 96.00 per year.

You guys simply called the wrong #. Dtv's # is 800 347 3288 or the number on the bill is 800 531 5000. If you dialed anything else you probably called a retailer or 3 rd party company. Dtv said what there doing is totally legal. Bestbuy also sells warranties to Dtv customers. Thousands of people misdial numbers everyday.

My wife called the number that appeared on our TV screen when we had no service.  Thinking that the number was to Direct TV, she called.  The call was routed to Protection Plan Center.  My wife is not 87, but she was persuaded (coerced) to sign up for a 3 year plan for $89.98, with the understanding that she could cancel with a full refund within 60 days.  We decided that we did not need the coverage and called to cancel.  We were informed that if we cancelled, we would be charged $4.79 per minute for tech support while we were talking to the sales person.  The only tech support we received was, "there is snow on the roof so we cannot go on any roof that has snow.  If you can reach the satellite dish with a broom, knock the snow off of it".  I suppose that is what they call tech support.

You are right, they are a bunch of scammers.  I have another phone number for you 1 800 533-0287.  We have filed a complaint with our credit card company and they are cancelling payment.  I hope this helps.

I had the same thing happen, I called Directv to have my satellite fixed and got redirected to these guys. They told me I needed to buy a protection plan for $79.99 that would cover me for 2 years. Then switched me over to directv tech department after I gave them my card number. Turns out I already have insurance with directv that costs me $8 a month. That $8 a month plan is what paid for my service. I'm trying to get a hold of Protection Plan Center at 800-533-0287 but just end up on hold till I hang up. I don't understand how you call Directv and end up at these guys...weird!

I called to have my free movie channel trial removed and my call was intercepted by these guys. I am always up for a good deal so took the 2yr plan for 69.99 and put it on my Discover card. After calling Direct TV because I continued to get the monthly charge on my bill is when I got the picture that I was being scammed. I disputed the charge with Discover card and after about 2 weeks they said the charge was legitimate. I am disappointed Discover card and Direct doesn't do more to put these guys out of business!!!

This also happened to us the other day - my husband needed service on our Direct TV equip. and gave his credit card number, and then changed his mind and said forget it, but they charged 79.99 to our credit card with the phone number of 800-533-0287, but you can't reach anyone when you call.

This same thing happened to me today but I called them. When I got home today my direct tv was not working. I looked up number for technical support and dialed that. They answered Direct TV and he told me I had to buy  a protection plan before he could send a tech out. I thought I had protection plan but he assured me I did not. So I paid him 59.99 and he switched me to someone to set up an appt. As I was making the appt I told her I thought I had  a protection plan. She said I did. So the bottom line is I was scammed like your mother. Somehow and I do not understand how when I was calling Direct TV's tech number it was intercepted by this other person. Direct TV has no information that I purchased a protection plan for 59.99.  I can not have my bank check it out until it post to my account which will be tomorrow. I am pretty sure this will not end well and I will not get my money back. I guess we just don't give our debit card out to anyone. I should have had them put it on my acct but I am sure that guy would have said that wouldn't work. Very disappointing there are soo many evil people in this world. I am very sorry this happened to your mom.

I did purchase an extended warranty for my Direct TV equipment.  I was paying each month, however by purchasing this three year policy, I saved a bunch of money.  If you want to remove the charge you may want to contact Direct TV direct as they were the ones who sold the plan to me.

My mother received a call regarding an extended warranty on her Directv equipment.  Being that she is 87 she gave them her credit card info that would provide a warranty for two years for $69.99.  She assumed it was from Directv.  But when I called Directv about the charge on her credit card they had no record of her getting an extended warranty.  I immediately called her credit card company to dispute the charge.  A month later my mother received a letter from her credit card company saying the charge was legimate.  I then pursued the matter further only to find out that it was Fun Dish Inc that had called her to sell her an extended warranty.  The only info I could find was the phone number of 216-482-3875 Protection Plan Center of Ohio.  I have called this number many times and each time I am directed to leave a number and of course no one ever calls me back.  Does anyone have another number or an address.  I will not let this thing go away.  I will continue to pursue.  This company is a bunch of scammers that prey on old people.  Thanks in advance for any info.
