Just received a debt collection letter from Joseph, Mann & Creed stating I had a past due bill with a major hotel in Vegas.  I have no idea what this about.  I called the Hotel and they state my bill was paid in full.  They think it might be a scam.  I have received several calls from "Unavailable" numbers and this one and no voicemail was ever received.  Great just what I need.

RECEIVED CALL 5/21/2013 @ 3:10 PM. DIDN'T ANSWER. NO CALLER I.D. NO MESSAGE LEFT. TIPICAL SCAMMER CALL.

Caller ID said "Unknown Name."  Did not leave a message.  I do not have any outstanding debts.  Thanks again to WhoCallsMe.

call kept beeping in on a call I was on-said call didnot come thru their system

I didn't recognize this phone number, so I let it go to my voicemail. When I attempted to play the voicemail, which was only a few seconds long, there was just two "pre-verbal" sounds made by a female caller. The caller didn't bother to speak in any language, it was just two kinds of sounds separated by a short pause. For example, "Ug...na." Very strange. I've read other accounts online from people who've received strange calls from this same number that, according to online information, has been registered to the same collection agency since 1998. Online reports indicate that if the recipient of the bizarre calls answers these phone calls, the caller(s) hang up.

I keep getting call from them on my cell phone, telling me that I owe $60 plus for carpet cleaning from Sun-Brite Carpet Cleaners. I have never used this service and when I call back, I get  a answer machine and I tell them whose name is on this account and how did they get my cell phone number , because I live in East Tennessee..They kept calling and I changed my number !!

Yes i had a phone call from this number and the lady threaten me with bodly harm if i did not pay some charges that she was trying to get me to pay,after she threaten me she just hung up

They call me like every hour I dont know who they want and I tell them they have wrong number then they start cursing at me and now when they call I have my whistle ready abd I blow it ....lol...guy got really pissed and called back like 8times and I continued to do it.........now they havent called in like 3 days..  A***oles!!!!........

They are a fraud company. I asked for a contact number so my lawyer could call back and they hung up and never called again. I just blocked the number and filed a complaint with the Better Business B.

California Casualty Insurance turned me in to this collection agency for less than $150.00.  Only problem was I didn't owe them anything.  They screwed up.  I started getting calls from Joseph Mann & Creed.  My caller was a very gruff sounding man, I tried to explain I didn't owe any money, he said, "I don't accept excuses just money."  Said if I don't pay his company had the resources to take me to court and sue me.  I said really for such a little amount that I don't even owe.  I said how can I prove that I don't owe that money to you?  He said pay him now and I could later be reimbursed by CCI if I really didn't owe but he doubted it.  I hung up.  So I called CCI and they gave me the run around and I had to send proof of insurance (from a different company) to get it straightened out.  So I did.  Two month later I got another threatening phone call from Joseph Mann & Creed, this guy misuses private info to threaten people and is a bully.  So I hung up and called CCI and let them know if they don't get their stuff together I was going to sue them.  They got right on the ball and fixed it.  To bad you have to get nasty with customer service people to get them to do their job.  I would never recommend CCI insurance, they are disorganized and use crap companies to do their dirty work.

They wont quit calling me..When I just answered the phone, I asked them who they were. The rude man on the other side can asking me if I was a certain person instead of telling me who he was. I told him unless he answered my question. I would hang up....lol ,he got pissed and told me to call back when I find out who I am....These guys are a joke. Since I now know who it is Im filing a police report for harrassment..

They called and asked for my partner this morning and I said she was not avaliable, and asked if she would like to leave a message, the woman was a total biotch and said no the number showed up have her call us, so I said NO if you can't leave a message she will NOT call you and I hung up!!! We have an outstanding Hughes Net bill as well and we canceled service for the s****y reception and it took them aver a month to send a freaking box so we could mail their crap back to them in the mean time the bill shot up about 200$ while waiting for the return postage. so screw them I don't care if it is on our credit they can suck it!!!!

They tried calling me for.months and I would send them straight to vmail. Today, my mom called and told me someone called and said I owe 2000 in student loans which is not true! My mom said they tried to make get pay that amount! Of course she didn't. She hung up and gave me the number from the caller id. Its the same number I've been ignoring for months. Then an hours later they called my cell and actually left a vmail for the first time. The scary part is how did they get my parents number!?

I had a dispute with Budget Rentals and had it settled by B of A. There have been 2 calls from this number, 1 was a "robo" call mentioning Budget Rentals and then today (May 22, 2012) a hang up. These have both been to my cell phone. I traced the number back to this site, what is going on?
The dispute was settled, the employee of Budget made the mistake and it was resolved with my bank. I have all the paperwork to back this up.

This number is definitely Joseph, Mann and Creed calling to collect on behalf of Hughes Net.
About a year ago, I moved and cancelled my Hughes Net account.  They said they would send a box for me to return their equipment, but I never got the box before I moved out.  I left the dish but kept the modem, thinking they could send the same tech guy who installed the dish out to get it, and that they'd eventually send the box.  I even gave them my new address to send the box to.  They never did send a box for me to return the equipment, they refused to send someone to get the dish, and insisted that I just send the equipment back and pay for it myself to avoid a non-returned equipment fee of $300.  They did not seem to understand the concept that I now lived 800+ miles away from the old house where the dish was located and couldn't just go outside and take it down.  Not to mention that the tech guy who installed it lived just down the road and drove by the house all the time.  Now this number calls me about once or twice a month, but I don't answer it.  I am convinced that this is a scam for Hughes Net to have their equipment returned at no cost to them or to make a cool $300 off of folks like me who are unable to return the equipment.  They never did send the boxes, and it seems they have a pattern of not doing so.  They just want to make you feel like you have to foot the shipping bill to avoid a $300 charge, and some people probably fall for it.  I paid for the equipment when I paid for the install.  This is  just a scam by a company trying to bully its way into squeezing more money out of people.

I cancelled the Hughesnet service, which was really slow, AND paid the balance last June (2010) and now I have had several calls from hughesnet or their collection agency asking me for money. The last time they called my husband asked them to send a box for the modem and they agreed. Still waiting for the box and now the call asking for money are starting again. This company should be investigated on its business practices.

Hughes Net again. Tried to get service for elderly inlaws. Nothing but trouble from the beginning. The most rude customer service knuckleheads. Now this number is calling me and saying they are attorneys. Hughes Net tried to charge our Checking account nearly 400.00 to drop them after a short period of time. We never got the service or anything promised.

Have told this company multiple times that the person they are looking for is not at my number.  They refuse to listen and they keep calling.

ordered HUGHES NET over a year ago... Had the service a day and then nothing called them to come remove it and instead sent a service tech out to fix it... told him to remove it and he said he was not allowed to do that. he was only allowed to fix it not remove it or discontinue the service. so he called while at my home and told them what I wanted and they said ok service has been canceled and that they would send a box for me to ship the modem back to they. Said ok fine.... Still waiting for the box. lol i guess they postal service lost it...lol... anyway I have been calling them for over a year now.. and then the JMC collection agency started to call me for the money HUGHES NET wants because I still have the modem.... Right told them send me a box and I will be more then happy to send it back DONT WANT IT THE SERVICE SUCKS...... AND STILL NO BOX.... so then they said we will send you a box you pay to ship it back and its done... ok send me a box still nothing.. then a day later they call and say pay the amount owed to us and we will send you a box for the equipment and when we get the equipment back we will return the payment ... laughed what do they think i am stupid.... so still have the equipment and changed my number the started calling my live in bf.. and harrassing him because he lives here... bullshyt

i have no clue who these people are., they call for someone deiffernt each time and they state im lying when i tell them im not the person.   IM SICK of them calling, they are RUDE

Im on the do not call list, but these rejects still call the dnc list is a crock as well.. I think its a scam to get private numbers for businesses to call..

Hughesnet is a crock.. Ive been getting harassing calls and never had the service. Someone used my cell number to activate an account only to default a month later.. When i call they say oh im sorry but if ur not on the account we cant change anything.. I told them i will sue them for not verifying the phone number, and harrassing me for my number being illegally used..

I cancelled there service within three days of haing cause it sucked they then offered it to me free for one more month.  I told them I wanted to cancel it and they were gonna send a box, they never did, I have called four times and everytime just before I get to the address part for them to ship me a box and cancel it they hang up, no word of lie it happened 4 times today, who can I call to get rid of this company, now they have bill collectors calling me when I never even used the service wtf

Called and asked for me and I said yes and then they hung up while they were talking to someone in the room.  Strange and will be blocked from calling again.

Called @ 3:30pm CST when I answered there was silence. Then 3 minutes of music. I hungup on them.
