They left a vmail for me to call asap.  So I did - they said they were just wondering if I had been served a summons from my County - for an unresolved pdl from June of 2013.  I told the man (first of all, he answered the phone "hello" and did not identify his company) he finally said his name was Don - that I worked for a law firm and had trouble in the past with companies trying to spam me and that I had a file started for my bank and to send me any backup paperwork he might have because I had never heard of the "parent company" he was working for - Quincy LLC.  He could not tell me the name of the pdl company.  He assured me at 1:00 p.m. he would do so - it is now 4:00 p.m. and I'm still waiting ........

Please read the information on http://www.floridadebtfighters.com/debt-harassment/.  I've personally won several suits against these types of companies who have violated my federal rights.  They need to be held accountable.

This is General Revenue Corporation. They handle school debt from various different schools. Once a debt is not paid directly with the school, the schools will often forward these over to GRC to collect on these debts. GRC is owned by SallieMae. In most instances, a student will receive government funds of some sort for a grant or scholarship...when that financial aid is reversed for whatever reason (bad grades, stop attending classes, never withdrawing, etc) the federally funded financial aid is reversed. At this point and time the school must send that money back to the government, and the school attempts to get that money that they lost back from the student. When they cannot get that money themselves, they forward these accounts to GRC to collect for them. GRC is a third party collection agency, which means that the school can take any other further means to acquire these funds. GRC as well deals with federal loans that are given to the student, in which payment plans can be set up for repayment or rehab of accounts. All calls are monitored and recorded for quality assurance. By federal law, the only way that a collector can give an unauthorized party information (a relative or friend) is if given by permission by the actual debtor (most of the time the student), which is why the reps can't tell you what GRC is or what business they have with the debtor.

Next time they call whistle loud into the phone or put the phone up to a lound radio or tv,  I also found if you just hang up or curse them out they leave you alone.   This is a blood sucker debit purchaser and you did not sign an agreement with them so if they say they want to serve you tell come on with it.  You will not hear from them again for at least 6 months,  then they start again.  Contact the Federal Trade Commission and report the phone number they are call from.  If you can get the name and contact information and send them a letter demanding they stop harrassing you and that you dispute their debit information.  There are forms letters that you can find on the Federal Trade Commission web site

Immediately asked for my birth date.  When I refused unless told why they were calling, they refused to give more information unless I gave my bd.  I owe no student loan or other bad debt, so had to believe it was a scam.  Why does the "Do Not Call" system not work better?

I have selective call rejection and have added 888-710-6818 to the list of incoming phone numbers to be blocked.  On several other occasions I received calls from a landline that my caller ID indicates is located in Cincinnati (I know nobody in that city), so I have to assume GRC is the caller.  I added that number to my selective call rejection list as well.  That seems to have done the trick.  This is the kind of abuse that happens when so much in the way of public information is freely available to parasites like GRC over the Internet: they mine it to harass unsuspecting citizens.

I have been receiving phone calls, and have found that this is legitimate.  2 separate loans were made, one with Sallie Mae and another with ITT Technical Institute.  The loan with ITT was delegated to GRC for collections.  However, most of the people I speak with at GRC have been rude, and tried to dissuade me from further investigating with the school.  Also, a Matthew Reeves I spoke with thought it would be wise to transfer the debt to a credit card.  How silly, that just puts the debt in another hole that can get much deeper at a faster rate than with them.  I am still digging around, but Sallie Mae did confirm that the loan with them is in fact real and not a scam to get money.  I hope this bit of information I've collected is of value.  Peace.

Thanks for letting me know who probably called me. A debt collector. Although I do love the fact that every person on here doesn't owe anyone and they feel that this company is completely bogus. If you really feel that way call the company and ask for it in writting. Pull you credit it'll have your address so it's public info just tell them to send it to you. Unless of course you think they night actually show up and collect what you owe, then I'd probably either ignore it or pay it.

Just because you get a call from this annoying number does not mean you owe any money,  I get calls from this stinkin number everyday, all day long.  When I pick up the phone, they don't even say anything.  I am 62 years old, graduated HS in 1968 & have never ever had a student loan!  My bills are paid up, not behind in a stinkin thing!  How can you let these pricks know they have the wrong person if they won't even respond when you answer the phone????!!!!  They really need to find another way instead of  blowing up peoples phones constantly!  SICKENING!!!

If you are getting a phone call from these people, you probably owe money. Don't ignore it because they have a power to report your debt to the government and it will affect your credit if you don't respond. If you are wondering if its a scam, contact the place you owe money to, for example the University/College if they handed over your account to them.

They are a BBB approved.

I had a voice-mail on my home phone from this compay - General Revenue Corp.  They asked for my minor son (15 years old).  I called them and asked what they wanted with my minor son, and I asked who they were, who they represented and what kind of business they were in.  The lady who answered told me to refer to their website and wanted my son's SS#.  When I told them I would not release information they became combative.  I spoke to a "manager" who told me they needed to talk to my son to verify they had the wrong person and I informed her I would not let them as it violated FTC and Fair Debt Collection Practices Laws.  She informed my they would not remove my phone from their call list and would call me tomorrow and the next day and the next until I "felt better".  This so called manager's name is Meitra.  I will go the whatever extent I need to stop such harrassment.  I will start with our Attorney General and go on down the line.  Time to research the steps to stop this.

Received this number in a text/ numeric page on my cell phone.  I had an account that was turned over to General Revenue Corp, but I paid it in full.  They continued to call me repeatedly after I made the payment in full.  They will call you multiple times per day, even after you ask not to.  I will be reporting to the FCC and sending them a drop dead letter not to contact me by phone anymore!

This number calls my cell phone all the time. I never pick up, but the voicemail message always says "Please stay on the line for the next available represenative." The voicemail cuts out after a minute or so.

They've called approx three times a week for the last three weeks. The earliest timed call was 6:15 in the morning, the latest timed call was 11:25 at night.

Call from a live person, wanted to talk to my son. Asked me to leave him a message to call them at the number 888-710-06818 and ask for Jessica. I asked is this regarding a bill? and she said I'm sorry I can't give out that information without your son's permission.
We have received calls from General Revenue before. He owes Sprint some money for a phone he used to have.

they left a voice mail in my company's astersk voice mail system which then emailed me a .WAV file I listened to in my email program.  It addressed me by name, which is very bizarre for spam.  It also didn't sound like a computer generated voice.

I've gotten one of these before where they left a message on my home machine 2-3 times per day for three solid weeks, and now this.  This one claims to be from  Branden at General Revenue Corp, for a debt owed to William Penn University. (??)  Says to call 888-710-6818 x HJ9.

I'm tempted to call just out of complete curiosity as to what their scam is.  The notes I read about the last spamming I got sounded like everyone that tried to call them didn't even get an answer at the number.  Makes me wonder if this is some kind of DDOS attempt on someone's phone number?

If you are geting calls from this debt collector and owe no debt report them to the federal trade commision and go to their web site and know your rights and always ask the debt collector for a verification of the debt sent to you by mail and it must include the orginal contract signed by you, that is because one the origninal debtor ( the person you sign the contract with) sells the debt to anyone else more likely to a debt collector under federal law it becomes fraud.. always try to get the debt collector address and send them a letter advising them to stop all forms of communication with you as required under federal law.

This is GRC (General Revenue Corporation) and they are calling to collect a debt. They specialize in student loan debts (money you owe for college). If you don't answer them then they can get a court order to garnish your wages. Student loans are protected by law and you have to repay them.

They called me and told me a owe a couple grand for a college loan and now I'm on a payment plan to repay it.
